Today's Weather in Your Garden - 43

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

Yep, another ugly, upleasant day to be outside. Sigh.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

at least the snow is melted so now it is just dark and cold oh and windy lol the wind is what turned all the rain I was suppose to get to snow it drop the temps by 5 degrees and that is all that it needed to become wet snow for three days

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Been flurrying on and off for hours. Too raw to do anything again.

Its cold, no snow though. YET

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

Yeah, I think the darkness is what's been getting to me...day after day. Maybe I'm not cut out to live in the Pacific Northwest, after all!

Plus, I tried to get some supplies for making hypertufa (needed sand and peat), and everyone still has that stuff all covered with tarps. I guess because of the lousy weather, they think no one wants to shop for landscaping material. So I can't even get going on that...bah.

Thomaston, CT

I was going to dig out pennisetums---not going out in the flurries & 42 temps!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Sounds like you all are getting the snow we had. It's warming up here. I hope it stays that way.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

ya it would be nice for it to warm up it has not stopped my jack russel from chasing the chipmunks on the deck lol he is out there now pacing and sniffing I dont even know what he would do if he got one I hope to got that it would freak him out since it moves and he would not hurt it

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

My day has worked out well despite the wind from the SW at 22 MPH gusting to 30 MPH. It has gotten up to 46 degrees at my house. We did lots outside, but am too tired to take any pictures.

Sorry it was a bust for you all. Patti

No bust here - Just too cold!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Lucky you, Patti! Was just snowing here again.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Whoa - a hawk just grabbed a bird near the feeder. Poor birdie.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Victor, I can't believe you have snow. I never have seen a hawk grab a song bird. We had an osprey fly over earlier today. The first of the season for us. They nest down the road from us in a marsh. They have been a good come back from some years back when they were gone from Nantucket. Patti

Flurries now. I cant take dealing with this cold with my hands in water.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

None of it stuck, but it was quite a squall for a while. Here's the bad boy (girl) hawk. Blurry since I was rushing and shot it through a window and tree.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Some call it the hippo rock - looks more like a whale to me.

South Hamilton, MA

The 'Whales Jaw' in Gloucester was cracked in the blizzard of '78. Too bad, the G. Scout troop I was leading managed a train ride there & then hiked the trail to it. I'm afraid that some of the girls were more excited that the engineer hooted good bye as we left the train; he was a cousin of one of the girls

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

31 now going up to 61

Blue patches in the sky, high 40's. Anything is better than yesterday!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Gunna be nice w/temps in the 50's,the snow will melt now.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Cool rock, less cool today. 44.1 at 7:53 am high so far while yesterday had a high at or 46.9. Wind has laid down to less than it was by a long way. NO Clouds in the sky. We will be heading out to plant some spring veggies today. Have a good day all. Patti
