Blue flowers blooming now

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Nice link Dale, just not enough pictures! I need the visual thing LOL Guess I can Google names of things that sound interesting.
Annie's Annuals does carry some nice unusual bulbs from S0. Africa and the Mediterranean. so I have picked up a few things and do as you said, pot them up and set them aside in the summer.

Here's my pretty blue ajuga intermingled with Angelina sedum. This ajuga was planted at least 25 years ago before we bought the house from my parents. Spreads here and there, gets scorched by the sun on extremely hot days as it's planted in almost full sun, I pull it where I don't want it, move it around sometimes and it always rewards me in the spring.

An exceptionally pretty combination, Sue.

I have the exact same combination, Sue! The Ajuga does spread but Angelina goes wild!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

I can never find that Angelina here, anywhere.

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

What?! They are everywhere here, even HD & Target on occasions!
Isn't a plant great when it can be grown in so many different climates?! Wish all plants were like that. Well, I would definitely need more space if they did.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I'll have to take a photo of how mine spread. It's amazing!

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

I have pieces tucked in everywhere, various bed edges and pots because it's a nice contrast for the greens.

I love Angelonia>

Lovely colors on both the delphiniums and the iris, JD.

The only new blue things blooming here now are both in ponds.

Finally! I have a couple of photos to share! Bear with me, as I know these may not be as terrific as some of the wonderful examples the rest of you have of blue flowers.

These are my Dutch iris:

Lovely Dutch iris and Blue Eyed grass, Lynn. Love the spurs on the flowers!

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Beautiful, Lynn. I love Blue Eyed Grass.

Here's something that's springing up all over my garden. Probably some kind of Anchusa.

And here's a nearly-blue Scabiosa.

Another Anchusa (anything blue I can't identify immediately becomes Anchusa in my mind).

I give up Zuzu, I simply cannot grow blue flowers, try as I might, nothing ever blooms. So I cheated, but I like what I did.
Here is the before picture....

The table and chairs had been badly injured by the ice storm we had earlier, but I mended and glued and they feel pretty sturdy now.
Here is the after....

So no blue flowers, but I feel much better saying I have a Blue Garden...
Yours are all so beautiful.

Sebastopol, CA(Zone 9a)

Oh, I love them. Mine are all repainted red, but the red's chipping off. Maybe I'll try blue next time.

Isn't blue-eyed grass the best? Unfortunately, our rabbits love it, too!

Southern Dutchess Co, NY(Zone 5b)

The bunnies haven't found mine, yet. There is a huge rabbit I see back on the path and near the woods. As long as the plants bloom, I'm happy. Such cheerful little flowers!

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

That's just how I describe them! I'm going to try some seed next spring and see if I can get some more going - maybe around the pond. It's one flower I wish would spread!

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

yet another noid dbl lysianthus. seedpicker hooked me on to these, i'm in love. planted inground, dry shade, low maint. Last yr we got some pink ones but I planted in an area that gets the sprinkler and they appear to have rotted. So, low water is key, I think.

Could it too moist at your place for the lysianthis, JD? Did a quick look up and they seem to like to be dry? I would love to have that first (single) one!
