What have you ordered for spring 2009 - Part 6

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Received my caladium co-op order today from Caladiums4Less. The FedEx truck was pulling away when I got an email confirming delivery!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I couldn't be a FedExdeliveryguy. I would have dropped off the order and emailed 'You're order has been delayed 6 weeks' just to mess you up.

Me too, me too!!! Do you pot them up and keep them inside for a bit, since it is still so stinkin chilly at night? They did look good though. Had to show mom when he pulled away.

OP's are hard I never realized so many dif. varieties just dont take. I was lucky with the red ones from my grandmothers garden. They mush have been really hardy. If I have too much trouble in the next few years I'll just go on to another plant. "I fall in love too easily" old torch song
I have to wait another 2 weeks for Caladiums.
Since everyone is getting theirs it must be winter is over?

Last year I planted 12 or so OP under the roof eves. DH cackled me out. OK so I moved them. Of course they were struggling, but it looks like they have taken and will produce a flower this year - I hope. I have a ton of poppies started now. Some of them the root goes down into the soil and the leaves looks like they are dancing on a hair. They are babies so anything is possible? I will get a pic. I think its amazing. I got 48 of the reds in one tray.
Persian Blue, Oriental Red, Lavender - eeks I cant find the package must be in the GH.

Let's just say, Celeste, that it's too chilly to put the caladiums out yet.

I like the crepe papery look of poppy petals. (say that 3xs fast)

I have to get the Select Seeds catalog out after I saw mentioned about Brazilian Sage. will check it out.

My favorite farm market - where I get most of my flats of annuals should open this weekend. I think I'll have to go today to see what is available. I like to patronize local vendors. If I lived closer to you, Sherrie, I'd be there. :) I had asked her about angelonia last year. We'll see if she got them.

and one last thing - i made some folks real happy yesterday - Costco had 4-5' ft bloodgoods - my wife cousin has been looking at $300 trees and a buddy's wife loves jm's so i alerted them to these - they were priced at $60 - good deal.

my boodgood out back is a confirmed goner and you can see the reason here
