I cant believe all the blooming trees and bushes.RC
Magnolia is a winner.
We will have forsythias in a few days if not sooner.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Ahhhh yes the forsythias, the sign that spring is here! The earliest ones started a few weeks ago, but they were really starting to be in full bloom last week. I had never noticed that magnolia buds would look like that when backlit.
If it's any consolation, the camellias and magnolias (not the one that I said was outside) are in coldframes. Although, some of the ealiest blooming camellias are just starting to bloom outside! I can't hardly wait!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

You sure are lucky. Nice time of year and it was a long wait.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

all great RC but that one in the pot is fantastic

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Amazing pictures - I never get tired of seeing them. I just love the early blooming crocus - gets me right out of the winter doldrums.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Great shots, Shelly! I love the red camellia and the last backlit hellebore shot.

Gorgeous shots, Shelly. Love that backlit hellebore.

Hi ebveryone

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

Shelley, you have a beautiful collection of Hellebores. I love that potted one. Do you know it's name?

very nice shelly!!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Wonderful shots all, but Victor, do I sense "neighbor envy". I have envy of all that have narcissus out in the NE. I have a few trying, but not much of a statement yet. Patti

Thomaston, CT

Oh--can't believe the magnolias are blooming---mine is sooo late--this is it for me---a small clump of crocus, & some budded wood hyacinths. Those hellebores were outstanding, Shelley. And Victor, the hyacinth's color is close to mine---however, only buds right now.

And some sad crocus---guess the rain was too much for them!

Home from Ohio----crocus are finished, although got to admire those in DD's garden. Riticulata 'Harmony' sill in bloom. some buds showing on the daffodils in front of the roadside stone wall. Have to get the leaves off the 'Jack snipes' & see how they are doing.

Getting there, Robin!

Victor, which daff? Never seen a twisted leaf like that on a narcissus. Intrigued. Love the bleeding heart. Stop posting I need to go to work! Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not sure. I'll see if there is a tag.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

here's whats growing.
Thought it might be the double shirly poppies I sowed in dec.
No came the answer from Plant ID and
No was the answer on Poppie forum.
Its coming up where I placed the seed balls but look less and less like poppies everyday.
Hope I havnt been expending all this energy for a weed.

Could be lots of things, including weeds.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

They do seem to emerge first and grow fastest.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Almost looks like strawberry foliage or cinquefoil.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

More like the 'false strawberry' weed.

South Hamilton, MA

DH says that the red polyanthus primrose is full of buds. I love those things, but have had a difficult time with them.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Is this scilla too? Beautiful, whatever it is.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Thanks all, you're great!

Anita, I hope that your plants come along very soon! At least there's no more snow! right? You're showing some signs of life, that's very good.

Dyane, I wish that I could say that all of those hellebores are mine! But, that just wouildn't be true by any stretch of the imagination! The double pink is one called is a Pink one (clearly) from the Party Dress Improved strain.

Victor, that foliage shot just a little bit above, is that an erythronium? All your pictures are great, but I love the Lady bug!

Good call Patti!
