High praise from you Victor.
Thanks of course the tulips are open now.
I had to go back out with the spading fork to releas some regular tulips from the bondage of Lambs ears .
DD lets things go a bit and didnt dead head last summer.
I will do it this year. The clump has taken over.

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

Very nice, congrats on the tulips, I love that foliage.

Wish they were ten times bigger and lasted all season.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes that foliage is wonderful. Like the striped one I posted yesterday.

I'm happy to report that the work has begun this week on my new stone walls. The work is still is progress but I thought you all may like a peek.

They've started in the back yard, replacing a rotted out railroad tie retaining wall. Here is a before, looking left.

New Carney stone steps. There are now moss rock boulders on the sides of the steps and the wall is twice as high. I'll post more pictures as the work progresses.

These stairs are pretty massive slabs.

I'm so excited to get this work done. I've spent so much money on things that I can't really see and enjoy with this house, like new furnace, hot water heater, heating systems, roof, insulation, french drains, and on and on, etc. It's so nice to do a decorative job for a change.

Nice Nice Nice. plus the value of your property just went up.

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

I'm planning on staying here for a long time so it's nice to do this now and enjoy the view for many years. The added property value is certainly a plus though.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

dyane very nice!! - do you go on vacation? when? i could use some flat stone like that:)

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

LOL. I thought you had your own personal quarry, Bill.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

and stacking those flat ones is easier for what i have planned :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - looks great, Dyane!

Dyane, going to look great when finished.

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks Jen : )
I am having a problem looking at the pictures all of a sudden. When I click on the thumbnail pictures to see them larger, then click on back, it is bringing me all the way back to the forum page. Then this page loads very slowly. I'll be back to check out Dyane's pictures, hopefully it will clear up soon.

How much do those steps weigh?!!

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

I have no idea, Victor. I can ask tomorrow. They have left for the day. I'm so pleased with how it's turning out. It's even better than I imagined.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Would be nice to inscribe one of them with the date and your family names, or something similar.

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

That's a lovely idea, Victor.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Love the stone wall and the steps Dyane!!!

I finally know what it is that lets me know spring is finally here. At first I thought crocus but they are always late here, none are blooming yet! Then I thought daffs but they bloom about the same time as the crocus!! lol
Today I saw what reminds me it's spring...the neighbors field floods at this time every year and my friend's land and greet me with their morning honks, signaling it's SPRING!!! ^_^
