RoseGirl, I can look at your photos all night long. love to see what's blooming. you should consider putting some of yours in the PlantFiles!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone!

Congrats Mike.. you ran the race! That in itself is something to be proud of!

Sorry I konked out on everyone.

It's Kel's birthday today. So, fixed a BIG breakfast for you all.

Hot coffee, cocoa, juices, jelly filled doughnuts and Western Omellettes. Dig in! :D

Hope you all have a great Friday and for those of you facing bad weather, may you stay safe and dry.

See me later.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Morning Ladies...
Thanks Jaye for breakfast.... all that sounds sooo good.

Your pride for Mike means a lot. I told him last night that he ran a good race... and he has good form, and his leg muscles are toning up... we'll work on his stamina, and he'll win one before he leaves the USA... He's hyped. I may have to eat my words though... there's only 3 more meets before the regionals... he may not get to compete in that.

He can't wait for his mom to see the pics... in his little tank top and matching shorts... she's never seen him run before... she'll be so proud.

Don brought home a monitor last night for me to use while he's ordering the light tube for mine... so, I should be back on my own computer this afternoon.

I have a plumber coming this morning. I poured 3 bottles of drain cleaner down my kitchen sink this week, and it still backs up when I run the dish washer... ugh...

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Caught up with you all again, finally. You just move to fast for me.

Happy Birthday Kell, today is my grand daughters birthday too. Kali is finally 12 (going on 17). She had cereal and bacon for breakfast. Will be making her cake after while along with my adopted grandsons birthday cake. His birthday is next week.

I've missed so much on here. Congrats Deb for the new nana, ain't it great? We should have had grandkids first, it would have saved all the hair pulling as their parents were growing up.

Everyone, be safe and have a wonderful day. For those who have been sick or hurt in some way, my prayers are with you and along with all you sistahs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Thanks for the breakfast Jaye! Very good!
You tell Kel, we are all sending him a great big Birthday (((((((((((((((((((((((((HUG)))))))))))))))))))))))))

Bj, I hope you get that drain fixed, that is very frustrating when a sink does that!

Off to do some neglected house cleaning today! Dust is getting pretty thick! LOL

Morning Robyn, How you doing? What have you been up to! Happy Birthday to your Granddaughter, and Grandson also!

LK

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Morning Linda, how are you doing? Just hanging in there, waiting for the snow to hit tomorrow. Hope all my flowers will survive without to much damage.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I have been watching that nasty storm go across the states, and it is horrible. The flooding in N.D. and all the snow storms! I pray that it will all clear up soon. I hope it does not affect your plants!

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

I'm thinking it is going to be like a blanket, we aren't supposed to get cold with this snow and it will be in the upper 60's within a day or two afterwards. We caan get between 1 and 8 inches.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Happy Birthday Kel!!!! It's your day relax.

Morning all, bad weather again today, more rain and looks like it is here through the weekend. Need to chase dusty bunnies (hard when you have given them names) but my sewing machine sounds like more fun

BJ Mike did all his adopted Auntie's proud! He can hold his head high with pride.

Well, need to get on with my work I had put on my list for the day. Will check back later.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

OMG-If I had know I would have sent something-HAPPY BDAY UNCLE TOOTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jaye and BJ-you both have DMail

Deb-I got to see her portraits and they are FABULOUS!!! They are pencil sktchings that are so exact they are beautiful!!!

I will be mailing my baby pressie on Monday:) Can't wait for Auntie Deb to get it and I hope that my wants for Riley are realized as she gets older:)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Auntie M-you are up early!!! Dmail coming your way!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Got it but can't put my head in side this room it is so swollen with pride!!! Fantastic Tink!!!!!!

Yes, I am waking up early but tire quickly still so usually rest a hour or so in the afternoon. Something odd, found out last night my DIL was sick like I was so now I am wondering if it was something we had last week before I went to Gainesville. We both had the same salad and think something might have been wrong or on the lettuce. Just to coincidental!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Auntie M-I am blushin-from head to toe (including all the in between parts;)

I am trying to get the rest of my blocks for my quilt cut B4 mom gets here today-need to take breaks as butting them bending over the table and such hurts my lower back a bit-think I have a pinched nerve-oh well-will have to take a hot bath on Sun after mom leaves-we are going to this place here today-is supposed to be a converted barn that is FUL of material-called The Door Mouse-has like 5000 bolts or something

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Got it, Fairy Fingers... you did yourself proud, for sure.

Maid M... I need to take a nap in the afternoon too, but I don't...
Actually my doctor says that every woman needs a nap in the afternoon... it's just good for you... but I just don't take the time to do that... maybe we should all just log off, lay down at that same time... then we'll know we didn't miss something... LOL

The plumber came... didn't fix it... said since we have 3 sinks connected together on the same drain, there was a 90% chance that what ever he did wouldn't fix it. But will still cost us $170. AND since we have a metal roof, he could not get up there with his machine... company policy... slippage liability... and that is what it needs, and will be 100% possibility to get it fixed. Need to drop a blow out bulb thingie from the vent on the roof. But, he did tell Don what to get to fix it... and he can do it himself. Cost, $7.00 ^_^ So, Don will fix it Monday when he's off next.
It just fills the sinks about half full when I run the dishwasher, and eventually drains, but slow. However, the dishes do get clean. So, it will wait a couple days.

Don brought home a monitor from work, and connected it to my computer... so it feels strange not to be looking at my laptop monitor while I'm typing.

Well, I'm off to do a bit of housework today... I'm with LK, these dust bunnies have to go... names or no names... it's gotten critical.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

BJ I don't usual take naps but I just don't have the energy since that food poisoning episode. It is getting better but still sloooooow! I second that idea: we all turn out 'puters off at 2 for a siesta! All those in favor say "aye".

Weather not good, just got an automated call from where Kim teaches: tornado touched down in the county and the students and facility are in "safe" mode, will return to classes when danger has passed. Yikes!! I didn't need that!!! Now I fret.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, and... Do you remember how much stuff I've been so diligent to get planted? I've got almost everything in pots from my porch, in the ground outside... and now... it's suppose to frost tomorrow night... YIKES !!! Gonna get really cold starting this afternoon...

All I can say is "GOOD LUCK LITTLE PLANTS" !!!
I'm going to cover the tomatoes & peppers, and the new hydrangeas I just moved from the bed I rooted them... and I'll probably try to cover the brugs I got in the ground... but they're pretty tall, and I don't know how well I can do that.

House cleaning will have to wait... plants come first.

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

I hope Kim and everyone will be ok.

Even with all the snow coming it's still not supposed to get below 39 tonight or tomorrow night. Temps tomorrow in the 40's, hopefully it will just rain instead. I hope that is all, don't relish the idea of a house full of 12 year olds stuck here cause they can't get home.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks Robin, the line of storms passing through here is rough but they say it is worse up in the areaa where she is.--Hope and pray.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Happy Birthday Everyone!! I can't seem to remember what I read 2 seconds after reading it.

I am so tired today, was awake half the night with thunderstorms and a hyper cat. Had a tornado warning in a town 2 hours due west of my house, of course I freaked out because it was headed directly at me, text Dave and my next door neighbor, next door neighbor text back laughing at me for being so scared when it was so far away! It did keep it's direction and come directly over my house, but by the time it got here it was nothing but a rainstorm. Dave called me back a little while after I text him and reminded me that when tornadic storms are that far away about 99% of the time they either change directions or fizzle. Diana told me to not worry about it, quit watching the news and go to bed! Just as long as the storm radio is on it will take care of you, plus all the notifications I get on my cell phone. They have downgraded the tornado probably today so that's good, we're still going to get storms but tornadoes are not a huge issue like they were the other day.

LOL BJ, I wish I could take a nap but for some reason I can't nap when the sun's up, some mental thing. Plus I'm at work, that wouldn't be good!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL, Crissy... I can't nap during the day either... bet I've taken all of 3 naps in my whole adult life. Wonder whose lifestyle my doc was thinking about when he told me that.

I'll say some prayers today for all those in the path of this cold front, stormy weather, and just flat miserable weather. I don't think the sky is falling like all the weather guys are talking about... they usually talk about the worse case scenario... think positive, and just be prepared for the worse.

I've got all my flats of seedlings, and potted plants brought in now... cages around all but 5 of my tomatoes (got to go get some more). I'm going to throw a tarp over the cages later this afternoon. I've got big pots to turn over my baby hydrangeas and peppers. Now, I just need to cover the other stuff... not quite sure how I'm going to do that without breaking all the new little leaves they're full of...

Sheesh... I hate doing this after the weather has teased us with spring.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

1. When you are sad --I will jump on the person who made you sad like a spider monkey jacked up on Mountain Dew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.
4. When you're scared -- we will high tail it out of here.
5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining, ya big baby!!!!
6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.
7. When you are sick --Stay away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.
8. When you fall -- I'll pick you up and dust you off.
9. This is my oath...I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask -- because you are my FRIEND!

Friendship is like peeing your pants,
Everyone can see it,
But only you can feel the true warmth.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Thanks Bonnie,i'm glad someone enjoys them.I do put them in the plantfiles but some are not good enough to be put in there. They always find a reason to boot them out.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

"Friendship is like peeing your pants,
Everyone can see it,
But only you can feel the true warmth."
Wow.. perfect metaphor BJ! And we'll put up with it, as long as the stench ain't bad!!!

Kel thanks you all for the nice birthday wishes. And he says he deserves a 10 toot salute!!

Robin, welcome back! Wish your DGD a happy birthday for us will ya? Kel says great people are born on this day ;)
I know you are so ready for the perfect spring weather. You just can't wait for your brugs to go outside can't you!

Sending out my prayers too for you all facing storms, tornados...

Maid M... I can easily get a foul stomach from a store/restaurant salad than seafood :( Once at a restaurant, there was a fly sitting in my salad. A dead fly!!
So you can say that since then, before I eat my salad, I kinda stir it up, inspecting for uninvited guests.

BJ, as long as you got them covered in time, I'm sure they'll be well protected.
I don't do anything outside till after Easter, even though we're in zone 8. Learnt my lesson well when one year, an unexpected late freeze killed my new investments. .

Puhleez don't take a nap while you're working Crissy!!! Gives us sistahs a bad reputation there :D Now if you take a break just to germinate something.. that's okay! Lol!!

Susan, yes there is a light at the end of the tunnel. To some of us it might be a dim one, but that dim light will eventually shine away all your dark despair! Hang in there sistah.

Hi Cody. What are the new camellias? Kel don't care for azaleas as they leave a mess on the grounds after blooms.
I've never submitted anything to Plant Files. Guess they have a standard form?

Somehow, my head has been spinning .. so I agree to take a nap today :D

Coushatta, LA

Jaye, the one i have now are Dr.Tinsley,Debutante and Sadie Mancil.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I have Debutante. That's the one that looks like a peony.. it is beautiful. I went check the Plant File. You had Dr. Tinsley posted there, I see.
Think I might find me one :D

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

All is well again. Kim called as soon as they were allowed to go back to the classrooms. Wheee--sigh of relief!! We had a really nasty line of storms pass through here and more predicted. Not really complaining as we certainly need the rain but geez, could the storms just go away? Tomorrow is the huge Tallahassee Springtime celebration and parade. Not looking good.

Jaye, I hope you are spoiling that man for his birthday!!! Lemon muffins, lemon cake, lemon pie, lemon drops and thing his lemony heart desires.

Well back to whatever it was I was doing before I started doing this. Anyone know what that was?

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I am hanging in there... I almost chocked but we are doing much better... I am taking pictures which I have not done in a few weeks and I need to post a few to the swap forum.... I am way over due.... I also have one more swap to send and I am hoping to do tomorrow...
I also wanted to tell you I made the other dinner which I can't think of the name of.... Oh it is Sheppard Pie and it was good but to many mashed potatoes.... I will try to post the recipe later....
I also wanted to say a great big thank you to Terri who most of you don't know I don't think but I know she pops in here to read once in awhile... She is one of the Dragonfly's on Daves... She lives near me and she has been a ton of help to me and my family.... So Terri, if you are lurking I love ya girl...LOLOL
Hugs to all,
Susan

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Wishing Kel a Very Happy, Very Lemony (the Best Kind) Birthday!!!!!! ((((Hugs)))))

Everyone in weather and storms be safe and warm.......keeping you in our prayers.

Susan......((((Hugs and Prayers))))....

Marion glad you are back and starting to feel better.....

LK and BJ.....If it is any help Jim sent this passel of Dust Bunnies to homes in the Northwest so at least a few of them are out of the way...

Have to take mom to the bank and run by Church to pick up the things I need for this weeks flower arrangement....has to be done for tomorrow night and I just don't have any great inspiration popping up right now...

Need to get Laura back in gear and get the studio finished up....have a couple of leather orders to get finished, a few clay orders to complete and a big stack of cards I need to do...and then there are the leather and clay projects I want to do...just because..... well, Just Because I would really, really like to make a Fairie Garden this year.....and a Fairie Garden requires things like Fairies!?!?!

Dang I will be glad when we quit having wind...this poor dog just drives me bonkers when there is a stiff breeze out... I feel sorry for her but there is Nothing I Can Do About the Movement of Air in the Universe!!!! I guess we all get more neurotic as we get older......
