Hee hee - yes it is. The ground was fine.
Garden photos of '09.....#9
OH MAN! hmph, grumpfh and bleke.
I have a big magnifying glass I take advantage of.
I'm DEFINITELY borrowing the big blowdryer back from redchic now.
Only reason I have for not direct sowing the parsley is Winter Cabin Fever. Plus, I get to much some sprouts along the way ..... it's a tease, but keeps me happy for a bit.
It is Double Curled Parsley. Seeds from the Round Robin Box courtesy of DonShirer!! Thank you very much, kind Sir!
Plus, I did not plant all of the seeds just yet, only enough to handle in the space I have in the GH to start things. Which, of course, I always WAY underestimate how much space there is!
Nice Hawk Shots, Victor!! Sad Arborvitae Shot!
WOW they were hungry! Cool hawk.
I thought that might be the case WNYwillie. I am sloooowly rationing out the seedings so that I can seed right up to mid-April without running out of room (I hope).
It's amazing how a meager 12 square feet of seedling's space can turn into an acre almost overnight!
Yes, they're mine. Thanks.
victor very nice shape to the yabadabado jm
LOL wha. A new JM hybrid is born.
It would appropriate in my garden with all the rocks!
So is the hawk a Cooper's?
Florida wren.
Not a yabbadabbadoo bird?
Victor, DH wants to know how much you had to pay the kid to fly the Hawk-Kite? hee hee hee
Hee hee!
Good one Pixie ^_^
Nice picture! ^_^
Square tail feathers=sharp shinned
Victor you should post some of those photos in the birdfiles
I was waiting for a positive ID. Thanks, Jen!
Very nice photos! Hard to tell the size when he's in the air---sharpies & Coopers are small hawks, but they are both around this time of year. Shelley, the dam was built in the 50's, after a devestating flood. We actually have 3 Federal flood control dams in our town, but the one I live near is the largest. Will remember to bring camera tomorrow!
Celeste, I made my way out to the Christmas Tree Shop this afternoon. They just opened one nearby this winter and I hadn't had any interest in going until you posted about your gardening finds. I bought tons of bulbs and those boxed perennials. I can't get over the prices. Picked up some grow-through supports for Peonies and some trellises for the Clematis I ordered in the co-op. I never knew they had bulbs there. Dangerous...a new place to troll for bargain bin finds!
Nice shot, Weeze. What is BBB?
never tire of flower pics... very nice!
Bed Bath and Beyond
Victor, That's a great picture of Crash. How did you get him to sit perfectly still to get that clear of a picture. Mine always wants to smell the camera. Great pictures, all of them.
Great id IrisMa!! Yes, she is Scottish Fold. But, only half. She's half Scottish fold and half Manx. She ended up with the telling traits of both breeds. Her ears bend over (but not perfectly flat like a pure SF), she she has just a stumpy tail, and hind legs are longer than front legs. It's sort of funny because she doesn't look like a tall cat, but when she stands up on her hind legs she can reach the counter top with her paws! Yes, it's a standard height counter too.
Willie, I think that we're all jealous of your seedlings!
Venu, I never tire of pics!!
For those who've never seen a Scottish Fold cat, here's a link to pictures of them http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&ei=FfjKSeDvK5qqtQPJ4Z29Cg&resnum=0&q=scottish+fold&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=H_jKSc3nCYmQtQPHz9mkCg&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title
I only knew of a SF because my daughter had one, never knew about them before that. He older sister has a cat which is part some asian breed (blue eyes) & evidently Maine Coon (hairy ruff, chaps, paw hair). His name is Salem (before the TV show) & is a tuxedo coloring, black & white. Our last cat (orange) was Captain, because he came from a shelter in Gloucester.
Sounds like quite the brood! That's usually the sort of mix of cats that I have too. and I hadn't heard of SF's until just recently either. They're sort of funny looking. they remind me of Owls. I've always had two or three cats at a time since I can remember. They were always strays that found their way to our house. This cat, Precious, I've only had a year and she was the first cat I every sought out because none came wondering to me after one of my 18yr. old cats died. I decided that I had wanted a manx, but also wanted to adopt a cat. So I left word at all the shelters that if they came up with a Manx that I would like it. I also looked online, that's where I found Precious. Someone about 2 hrs. from me had some unfortunate circumstances and had to give her up and she was 1/2 Manx (I hadn't heard of SF until then). To me that was the sign that she was the cat ment to live with me! I keep in touch with her former owner and send her updates and pictures every now and then.

We had cats one at a time, 4 in all. the older daughter has the 2 & her sister just found one in the park, advertised, but no answer. Her girls, age 7 & 5 decided they wanted her, because their elderly cat & English cocker spaniel had died. I guess all has gone well.
that's good. Her kids are learning some valuable lessons early on. Both in looking for it's "people" and giving a good home to one that needs it. What did they decide to name it?
love that hellebore shot... it's a keeper for sure
