Stop and visit, talk all you want. Pt. 31

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Apparently not. I was reading about it in the KC Star today but it didn't say anything about the CEOS. Just said the brand name was to be no more.

(Zone 7a)

Yeah. I'm still looking at it but I'm, also, looking at the Nissan 370Z Coupe.

Oh, I would go for that Nissan!!! That is really cool looking!!!

(Zone 7a)

Darrell and I looked at cars today while the dealerships were closed. I think I'm falling in love with the Dodge Challenger and the Nissan and the Chrysler Crossfire. I think the Dodge is winning.

Hope this works...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Nissan's are very good cars, I have a 2008 Rogue and before that I had a 2001 Sentra. Those 370's are bad ass in a very large way. Nissan's for some reason don't rev too high and yet they have a lot of power. My Rogue is a crossover with a 4 cylinder and I have no problem picking up speed, it gets on. My Sentra was faster than Dave's 2001 Celica!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'd stay away from Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep too, if any of the big 3 go down it's going to be them. Chevy won't because of it's popularity "Heartbeat of America", and Ford isn't in that big of trouble. Also, Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep gets bought out all the time, remember their cars sucked until Mercedes partnered up, now they have cool looking cars but Mercedes bailed out a couple of years ago. GM has owned them, Mercedes owned them, my dad told me of a few other makes that owned them and he said, "What kind of car are you getting anyway? A GM, a Mercedes, Dodge, what?" LOL

If you stick with Japanese you can't go wrong. These American car makers are having too much financial trouble for me to buy a car from them.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I'm a Ford person all the way. Ford so far has made mostly smart decisions and they won't go down if they are careful. The others, there's no telling.

A friend of mine's daughter has a Crossfire and loves it. It even gets around pretty good in the snow. The Challenger is an awesome looking car too. I know, I'm not helping. LOL.

If you're gonna go the Challenger route you might as well get a Mustang. LOLOLOL

(Zone 7a)

NOOOOOO!!! No Mustangs! I hate them after all the noise from the neighbors' cars. They've ruined them for me forever. Sorry, girls. Can't do it. ☺

The Crossfire is really awesome looking and my neighbor next to the noisy people the Nissan 350Z. She loves it and wants to sell because she never drives it. She even let me take it for a spin!!! LOL How's that for neighborly? It was an awesome ride and it wanted to run out from under me. LOTS of power there.

The Challenger...I have a soft spot for the old muscle cars. I have no doubts about getting parts for it if things go badly for the company. The Saturn is a different story. I may still keep that on on the list but further down.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Dave knows someone who bought a Crossfire, said looks can be deceiving. I buy Nissan or Toyota.

(Zone 7a)

Yeah, I didn't like it as much as the others. I was looking at the new Camaros for next year, too. I like how they all look and the ratings all the cars I like are on the plus side.

So...in order, Saturn Sky (I know, I know), Nissan 370Z, Dodge Challenger (Mopar, can't go wrong there) then Chevy Camaro.

I was looking at the latest concerning GM and it looks like they'll just be sent elsewhere so those GM cars may be pushed to the bottom of the list by the time I'm ready. Who knows?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Any Car Beats a Mopar (LOL I love saying that!)
Found on Road Dead (everyone knows that one!)
Let's see, I used to have a slogan for every make, now I don't remember what they are. Bummer!
Can't say Pontiac's, it's bad.
Old Ladies Drive Slow
Camero is the Poor Man's Vette
Puttin' Datsun
Toys are for Boys

I want a 370Z really really bad, but it doesn't look like I'll be getting one any time soon, that's ok, next year I'll want something else.

(Zone 7a)

LOL Too funny! Here's one...

NAVY

Never
Again
Voluteer
Yourself

Not cars but still fun!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

They are all good ones. LOL

You should get one of those mags that rates the new cars. That will help you figure out what car you want or at least see the pros and cons of them.

(Zone 7a)

I go to Edmunds.com and read up there. I also research the new cars online at the dealers and talk to the people I see that own the ones I like. I have printouts of all the options, colors, etc. I can compare them side by side. I love looking and can't wait until it's time to go shopping! LOL

I have a book on buying a car at the lowest possible price, too. How to wheel and deal with the pros. Darrell and I practice the sale on each other, so, when it comes time, I'll know how to handle myself and not get taken for ALL my money. ☺

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL. Flutter those lashes, make your voice a bit breathless and wear clothes that show you the best. hahahahahaha

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL!!! Great advice!

Celia you'll get the best car for you. I have a subscription to Consumer Reports, I always check that before I buy anything big, except I didn't wait for my car, I bought it right when it came out and it was too soon for ratings. Dave didn't like it too much but they have excellent ratings now!

(Zone 7a)

Fortunately, I can take my time with this. My eye keeps going to the Nissan. If I can find one online and not have to deal with a dealer then all the better. BUT...I still have several months to wait. (sigh)

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Ug, waiting is the hardest. That Nissan is HOT! I'd be happy to just drive one and take the salesman for 'a little spin'
I heard on the news this morning that GM is one step closer to filing bankruptcy. Not Good!

(Zone 7a)

Go to NPR.com. They have all kinds of info on the GM saga.

ALL the cars would be fun to drive. This will be the "car you've always wanted"! Darrell has his 'Vette, I'll have my fun car.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That's way cool! Someday I'll have the funds to be able to do that. Getting some cc paid off and the truck paid off will help big time, just as long as Dave doesn't get laid off... I pray and pray and pray that doesn't happen.

(Zone 7a)

Darrell had a scare about being laid off but that's past now. With me not working it was double-trouble! Yikes!!! Good vibrations to the both of you, Crissy!

(Zone 7a)

Happy Easter to all my friends here. The coming year looks to be a good one.

Terry, many gentle hugs and much love coming out to you.

Hi Celia and friends!

Terry, Sending warm thoughts and prayers,. Goodness I sure hope you are feeling better, and I hope all is well with your family too.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Happy Easter Everyone!! Hope ya'll had a great day!!

Terry I hope you weren't in too much pain for Easter and got to get out and do a little something, or enjoy company. Luv You!

It stormed here today, Woo Hoo!! I woke up this morning at 7:45 hearing this screeching sound thinking "What is that????" Then the darn weather radio started talking and I knew what it was. I left it in the living room the past 2 days not thinking about it, so I got up and ran into the living room and turned it down real quick so it wouldn't wake Dave up. It said something about a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. Oh I can tell I've gotten better with the storms because I was mad. I said I think out loud, "You mean I just got woke up at 7:45AM on Sunday because of a thunderstorm that might not happen??" gggrrrrr I tried to go back to sleep but then I was curious at what was going on and to make sure there were no tornadoes, so I turned on the TV, there was a whole world of weather happening! It got to us, it stormed until about 12:30pm and finally quit raining at 3:30pm. Every time I would come online we would get a heavy downpour and the satellite internet would quit working, so I gave up. I ended up planting some seeds in seed containers in the garage, cleaned up the house a little, and when the rain quit I went to the grocery store. Got back, Dave got up, cooked dinner, and went to work. We live such exciting lives! LOL

(Zone 7a)

Way more exciting than my day. LOL We had a lovely day looking at cars. I picked one...

Congrats on the car! You sure will enjoy it.
I am all distracted. Just sent my oldest (HS senior) off on a week long school camp/ retreat trip. First time he's been away from me more than a day or so, (except when I went to Italy and left them all behind LOL) Anyway, I'll be glad for the call tomorrow to let us know the overnight drive to western NC went OK.
But back to enjoying spring. April's almost half gone!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

UUgggggg I'm jealous Celia!

(Zone 7a)

We haven't gotten the car yet. (I'm sad until we do.) It probably won't be until late summer or fall. (sigh)

Sally!!! I'm sad for you. The first time is aweful.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I know you haven't but I'm still jealous! LOL

(Zone 7a)

After the choosing comes the waiting. I taped a pic of the car on the rolltop of my desk. ☺

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL! That's hilarious! Shoot, if I'm ever able to get a nice car like that I think I'll be kissing it at night :)

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Celia - congrats on the car!

Here's one for you:
Flip Over Read Directions!

(Zone 7a)

I'll be hugging mine every night before bed. I told Darrell that and he added I should tell it it's a good car and a pretty car.

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

ROFLOL!

Hey guys!! I recieved an email from terry today. :~)

amanda, please forward this on....

amanda, celia, sharon and christy,

how very thoughtful of you all to send me such wonderful gifts. i received the box yesterday and was overwhelmed. i am amazed at your generosity and thoughtfulness. I love everything.

i had the surgery 3 weeks ago. the neurosurgeon cut thru the muscle in my back/shoulder and it is causing a lot of pain and a lot of non movement with my right arm. i can not extend it, like normal, i can not hold a glass of water, not a whole lot of strength in my arm. i can't pull my hair up into a ponytail without a lot of pain and posturing myself in order to do it. i was in 1 hospital for the surgery, let out the next day even though i had been given morphine [spelling] the whole night before. i was in that hospital for a total of 3 days. i was on some sort of iv solution to up my sodium level on the first day, surgery the next day and let out the following morning. i was in a lot of pain and to be quite honest, i do not remember why john called an ambulance to take me to the local hospital the next day. all i know is i am still in a lot of pain and it pisses me off that my doctors are not paying attention to what i am saying. i am set to have another emg may 6th. this pill for the pain in my nerves, gabapentin [spelling], has made me gain so much weight, girls, it ain't funny. 50lbs. in what, 6 months...i do not fit in any of my clothes any more. this whole thing is just frustrating from the time it all started.

i better get off of here, my arm is really shaking.

love and thanks to you all,
terry

(Zone 7a)

Terry, glad you've finally had your surgery. While not a fun time, we're just glad we could do something to ease your pain a little. Way too slowly but you'll make it. We love you and are glad we were able to keep you coming to DG and that you like your gifts. Take care and get back to us when you can!

Pepper, will you let her know we got her message and are thinking of her daily?

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Copied and ready to paste and send to her.

(Zone 7a)

So, I was looking at local events coming to town and I found the Lipizzan stallions are coming! I bought tickets immediately. We're going on Friday and I can't wait! LOL I haven't seen these magnificent creatures since I was a kid. My DH is thrilled with the idea. He's never been.
