This is 3 different Streptococcus in the AV Family
Kim, so sorry your mom is giving you such a hard time about buying this house. Maybe you need to have a heart to heart talk and tell her you're already stressed to limit and don't need her giving you a bad time. Then tell her if you need advice on something you'll ask her.
My mom knew I was stressed and she never once interfered, just gave me all the phone messges and warned me about all the papers they will need. She remembered how stressful it was when her and my dad bought a house in "75". The day they moved in it rained and the roof leaked, and the sellers were suppose to have put a new roof on it. OH boy did they get an earful the next day.
Well I try and just let her go she said she had to do this buy herself and just try to give me all the right answers THis is my test I can do it LOL Its all with everyone being sick that are now better and this came at the wrong time for her she likes to worrier but now I think it was the right time and I hope that after the house inspection that she will com down I told the House guy be ready to answer all kind of questions he said he was ready Maybe he's signal (SP) and cute
Now I trying to hard LOL
Kim The house and flowers are beautiful.I'm very happy for you.Sometimes our parents forget that we are adults and are capable of making our own decisions.
And as far as anybody, not just my parents,if I'm not asking you to pay my bills, then your opinion is just that ,yours ,so keep it to yourself and don't burst my bubble.
I say---- CONGRATULATIONS to you!!!!!!!!
This is how you nedd to feel !
OH Dear, hope he has a sense of humor. I could give you some good questions to ask, Rick used to inspect houses. You know some inspectors don't do insects or rodent, does this guy? If you want to know what questions to ask, JLMK. I'm out the door to plant some broccoli and brussel sprouts. I think they will be ready to eat around, the end of May, yum yum
Kim-tell your mom you appreaciate her concern, but you are a big girl and what you need now is her support. I am sure that since she has purchased homes and you have not that she is giving you helpful info, but I don't know one peroson that when they buy a home buy SOMETHING to go in it-be it plants, furniture, a knick knack-something because a new house deserves something bought just for it...
Donna-I really do think this is a good decision for you-and I think that peaceful feeling you feel is a good thing. While I was scared out of my mind to quit my job, that is how I felt when I finally did it-even thought I cried buckets, after the crying was done, a sense of peace came over me and a feeling that everything will be OK as long as I have DH, our families and my Aunites and friends here at DG....Plus now you can come over one day or one weekend-bring the kids-and we can take some of the drawing you are doing for me and cut and paint them!!! HOW FUN!!! WE have a game room and fun things for kids here to keep them occupied-maybe Max can have some relaxation time:)
Remember, courage is not the absence of fear, but the will to persevere despite fear.
I am worried about Deb's DIL-I am really wanting to know what is going on...
Joyce-that is so sweet!!! You do have a secret angel!!!
I was up til 7am reading all night-had to finish a book (which I started at 1am) and 363 pgs later, I was finally able to sleep-was going to just get up, but figured that if I did, that I would crash way too early!!
Kim-I was thankful that MIL was helpful during the process of buying a house, but our Realtor was a gem and was by far the most helpful person in the process...
Mine is also a gem beside working for a Realtor he also Works with me paving so believe me if thing are wrong he will get an ear full also But he is trying to get other from the company to buy a house that he shows so I don't think he wood steer me wrong at least I hope not
Cindy I have no idea and I don't know what that JLMK Stands for but maybe he has some thought on what I should ask it will take almost 3 hours for him to do it So I hope that will include the insect and rodent stuff I will ask
Kim
JLMK, means just let me know!
LK
Kim, this evening when we are relaxing I will ask Rick, ok. Back outside to plant some Lillies of the Valley, mine and Rick's birth flower (MAY)
Kim, I asked Rick about the insects and rodent.I had it wrong. It's pest and dry rot, the sellers are to have that done before they can sell the house. And this is a different person than what your inspector, Rick also said 3 hours is about right but a real good inspector will take his time and be there up to 6 hours (that is checking EVEYTHING).
Good Luck!!!!
WOW Thats long with nothing in the house its empty The Lillies of the Vally I love those One day I will have some My Grandmother grew them Do you have Pink one?
Hey Synda,it does not hurt at all.Even when i lay on it.
Cody, that is a pretty piercing. Make sure you keep it clean! And your going to do the other side in a few weeks?
Hi LK,thanks yes i clean it 3 times a day.I will go back and have the other side done when this side heels.
Kim, he will be checking, or I should say should be checking everything from attic to basement, all walls, electrical, plumbing, windows, doors, anything that is attached to the house. Rick says do not sign off on the pest inspection until you recieve the report that everything has been fixed.
Cindy-that is not necessarily true-depends on the state, and Kim, the inspection is usually for issues like plumbing, electrical, foundation, leaks, roof, things like that-they do not usually include rodent and pest unless you specifically ask and it is anywhere form $45-100 extra for that stuff. The older the house, the more time the inspector spends-at least should spend-since your house is about as old as mine it will probably take 2-3 hrs not including pest....
Everything in buying a house and requirements vary so much from state to state.....I highly recommend a house warranty-you can usually buy them at closing for about $350-we had to have a plumber come out 2 X and the AC guy 2X in the first year, so it definitely paid for itself-we made the sellers include it in ours:)
Pink Lilies of the Valley? No I didn't know there was any I've only seen white. Do you have some pink?
A lot of times depending on what needs fixing, the owner will not fix it B4 you buy the house-depends on the deal you are getting a lot of the time....and sometimes you can just get them to either lower the price by that amount of $$ or include like a GC or something for the repair like we did for the horrendous and stained flooring...
Because our front door is in such bad shape and the buyers weren't willing to fix it, we had them knock $1000 off the price-doesn't seem like a lot, but hey-every little bit counts:)
Yes Stacey you are right Rick did say that. I was just giving her some info on what might be done.
If I would have know about all the things wrong with our house before we bought it, I would have told my late husband no. I lost a lot of money when I sold it because I did not know that several thing were not up to code. My late husband had told them that he could take care of all that stuff so they lowered the price. There was so much dry rot, the well was not up to code electrical in the attic had been spliced together in so many places it's a wonder it burn down. I only ended up with $17,000 out of a $265, 000 house because of all the things that needed to be done. That hurt.
I hope this works Cindy For the pink LOV but this is the first one I came to

I think it work
I just found Park Seed has them cheep

I did get some sleep - from 7 am to 1 pm - so much for my day - so I'm not too with it, but
KIM YES, for this once listen to your mom on not spending ANYTHING. can't interfere with your Realtor - not allowed and I could get into trouble. But this time she is right. Put your hands in your pockets and don't do anything for this next 30 days, don't spend anything except to eat and put gas in your tank. More home purchases are totally screwed by people getting excited and spending on their new home than anything else, I think.
you qualified for your loan on paper. everything that was there had better be there on April 8th (or two days before closing) when they look again and demand the funds be transferred, or the lender won't close. ask your agent, they will tell you the same. in fact, with the extra time, they get nervous if they don't see even more $$ there.
So plan EVERYTHING out on paper, know where you're going to go for things, browse through any store you want for decorating ideas because you've got a marvelously blank "canvas" to play with. Pick out paint samples, get wallpaper and fabric swatches. Lots to do. play around with online garden planners. Measure furniture. BUT DO NOT BUY.
After closing and they hand you the keys, be ready for a minimum of $500 of unexpected expenses, and it can be more like $1500. No telling what it will come from. but there is always something. You won't panic, you will have the $ if you don't buy anything.
and you will have had the time to plan, and change your plans if you luck into something better as this time goes by. there's loads to think of and lots to plan. you will need to concentrate on your health and building up energy, because once the keys are in your hands, moving in begins, utilites have to be transferred and deposits paid, and your rental place has to be cleaned. ETC.
Until they hand you the keys, keep your wallet closed.
oh, and as for your mom, try giving her a buss on the forehead and says, "Mom, you might have some good advice there, but I need you to lay off a bit. you mean well, but I can't handle much right now." (it works on me when my grown DD says that)
then go shopping - window shopping.

Hey all,
Thought I would stop by to say HEY!! Been busy with grandkids, knitting and make a Spring Surprise.
Hope all of you are well. My husband is still in California, he thought he would be back next week but I don't
think he will be. His Mom is still in the hospital so it will take her a week or so to get back on her feet when
she comes home.
No snow Cindy, but I am not holding my breath. There is still 2 months of winter left YUK!!!!!!
But I did see the sun yesterday, lovely shining little ball of yellow!!!!!
I be back in a few days ladies.
Donna - try pricing out PODS. we used them in our last move and were thrilled! we saved a ton packing our own stuff in boxes in a POD in our move across town. we recommended it to a friend in your situation, and they used it for a move from NC to San Antonio, also with excellent results. We had pro movers put our furniture in a mover truck, but our friends packed up everything in the POD. Movers won't take plants; I can't remember if PODS put those types of restrictions on, and a move of over a week wouldn't work with plants anyway, I should think.
Sometimes the Lord has to kick us out of a place to before we listen to where we're supposed to be going/heading. {Hebrews learned this about Egypt!} we humans can be so stubborn at turning onto a new path sometimes!

No sun here today....we are at the bike show in Seattle.....they have changed location and have Big outside tents.....even with their so called heat it is freezing here, with the rain we have had the floors are wet....not my idea of a good time!!! Be glad when 6 o'clock gets here so we can go home and get warm!!
Yea so much for our week in the 70's next week, except for 1 day it's suppose to be 75 yea right!! Right now it's overcast cold and windy and suppose to rain tomarrow :( I still have plants to get in the ground. Planted 5 broccoli 5 brussels sprouts.
Found out those ugly bugs aren't Termite Queens they are California prionus heres a link
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/962731/
these days in real estate, they don't refer to termite inspections. they talk about pest inspections. and they don't refer to termite damage like they used to, they write about "wood eating/damaging insects." wood eating beetles are becoming a real problem. Squash em, Cindy! or drown them, and put them out for the ants to eat. Hope they were not near your mobile. They adore particle board.
They are in a old tree stump that has been laying at the end of the road since befor Rick moved here and he's been here 3 1/2 years.
DIL's blood plalets went from 102 to 110 so everything was ok today. She'll go back Monday to her doctor. I guess inducing labor will all depend on how she does from one day to the next. Keep her in your prayers. I'm hoping Riley will put on more lbs before she arrives. She's 5lbs now.
Cindy put that larvae picture on the bug id forum. Someone will id it and they need the picture if there's not many of its kind on the forum.
I do have to say that one of the smartest things we did was paint our living room, master bedroom and kitchen B4 we moved in-made it SOOOOO much easier!! Took 2 days to do all 3 rooms, drop cloths were placed easier and cutting in and such was way easy w/o anything in the way:)
Just my opinion Kim, but if you do indeed have 30 days to move out of your house and you have a couple extra days, paint your main rooms first...
Donna-the idea of Bonnie's pod is a good one-there are other places that also do that kind of thing-moving a storage locker essentially-and after you pay for gas fro a Uhaul, it may be more cost efficient that way
Deb-so glad to hear it!! We have been waiting to hear form you!!
Hugs Staceypoo!
Stacey The house is in pretty good condition The 3 bedrooms need to be painted but thats about it
Or Deborah So happy to here that still saying prayers
