Oh wow...... I'm soooo jealous!! That weather sounds great. hopefully you'll show us some pictures of the garden scultpures later on today!

You bet
Good morning Shelly.
I have enlarged another garden where the 20 year old Vibernums have out grown the skirts. Its full sun. so the mulch comes tomorrow and I'll be spreading as soon as they leave, we expect rain Wed. so I hope they come early in the day.
It will take me quite some time so I hope I'm able to move on Wed to post pics of the lazagna beds,AND I hope a month will be long enough befor I start planting things that come mid April.
This is the garden combo for the 23 feet thats mine
There's another 14 feet for DD ,for vedgs.
The garden is shaped like a boomerange ,narrow at both ends.

the crocuses are just basking in the sun... that's all! great collage! that coreopsis that's sort of in the middle and a peachy color, is that the newish coreopsis that starts out red and the changes to yellow or something like that? There are two coreopsis that i've seen that are fairly new that I'm thinking I may add to my wishlist. that one looks like one of them. All of the plants in the collage will be nice. Those are ones that you have planned to go into that new area right?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

BTW If anyone has a "BIG LOTS"
Nearby I bought these tables, that are 2 and 1/2 feet by 18" they have ajustable legs and fold up for storage. $19.00 each, "cant beat it with a stick" I say.

lol..... that's were I am keeping my seed tray too! the bathroom window is the only window in the house that doesn't have a vent right below it.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes to the plant placement question and
I'm not sure about the coreopsis. I ordered it from Big Dipper I think.
It has larger flowers than most cores. and the color is perfect with the Day Lilys Longfelds Twins. Those are colors that go well with the Purple smoke Baptisia and Lavender and Royal Purple sedum.

the tables are 2.5' tall?

OMG no one needs a heat shaft under their seedlings, who wants to water twice a day lol
Pirl said to keep the cuttings from sunlight. They are doing really well for a first try at winter-overin plants.
They'll fill in where the newbies in all the gardens arent big enough to keep out weeds.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Not tall, surface is 30x18.

I agree, I think that those will be a great combination.

It took me a minute to figure out which camellia it was. I saw so many of them the other day. that one is Camellia Pearl Maxwell. they're not great pictures due to it has been dark grey outside for a few days. So even in their greenhouse it was fairly dim.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Beautiful.
I dont know much about that plant.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

here's another one, a little confused about who it wants to be.

There aren't many camellias that are hardy in your zone, but if you can get ahold of one... they're usually pretty decent and reliable late winter or early spring bloomers.

that's cool

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

this is what it normally looks like. This is one called April Dawn, it is one of the ones that's hardy in zone 6

these two blooms are on the same plant!!!

Thats probably why I'm not familiar with the plant.
I'll just be an admirer.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

WOW April Dawn is beautiful
The name of the peach coreopsis is Sienna Sunset Ithink.Seinna something.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Well.... there are a few that are hardy. The one above is one of them.

Your cuttings are doing great!

this is another zone 6 one called April Remembered. I took this picture about a month ago.

they are so pretty

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the name. I think that is one of the two that I was thinking sounded as if they would be a great addition to the sunny area in the back.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

I agree, It's a good thing that they're not all hardy even in zone 7, or else I would have far to many of them. It would be a camellia grove or something like that.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

RC !
I just checked Sienna Sunset and it does start out deep sienna color and lightens as it ages.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Great! Then that's definitely the one that was the priority between the two that I had in mind. Thanks for refreshing my memory. I needed that!

Beautiful flowers, Shelly. Jo Ann - can we show naked tables on DG?? Nice legs, by the way.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Beautiful color combo, JoAnn.

I keep looking at my neighbor's camellias to see if he has any flowers, but not yet. His are red.
