SW..Cute frog pics today. Melvin was hanging out most of the day in the flower be behind the pond. It was pretty warm so I guess he prefered shade. today.
Who let the frogs out? - Part 2
No sign of Salsa again today. I am starting to worry. I did find a new guy today and he is now the largest frog in the pond. He is not as big as Big Mama, but he is catching many bugs! Hasn't missed a meal if you know what i meanl!
He was hiding in the spot where I last saw Salsa. I hope he did not have salsa for lunch! (excuse the poor joke)
Now where has he been hiding? Handsome fellow. Hope you find Salsa.
Bea,
I love Melvin. Is he still missing Big Mama? Penny is even prettier than I remembered, must be the tan! Ha Ha!
The new guy probably pushed Salsa out of the best digs, and he's had to find a different place to hang out. I got to say, you have the best photos of the frogs. Mine are wary and don't like having their photos taken. Don't blame them. Don't think the new guy ate Salsa. He's just hiding.

Shoot, mine are so small I can't find them!!! LOL Always like looking at Bea's.
Neat toad SW! Those little ones are the size of mine.
Great pic's SW. Love the toad. He looks like he also is very well fed or it is a she and she is having babies soon!
Funny thing happend today. Penny was hanging out on a lily pad and all the Koi were very curious about her. They would swim by very close. One of my larger orange & white ones came up to her mouth and gave her a taste. Koi suction..you know how they like to try everything! It was so funny. The frog got all freaked out..the Koi thought nothing of it. Sure wish I had my camera waiting for that one. It was hysterical.
Some of my Koi enjoying a clear pond for a change. Yeah!
Bea, your pond & koi are just glorious. Mine's going thru an algae bloom, and looks like...well, you know what it looks like. It started to clear 2 weeks ago, and then the temps skyrocketed again. Looking forward to clarity.
Well Bea (tongue firmly in cheek), I guess that Penny is not a Koi Princess!
Great photo day, and I loved the "captions". I don't know anyone else besides Jake with pet frog.
We used to have a gold fish that my brother won at a fair. It got pretty big and it would go up and kiss the cats tongues when they came to drink out of the fish aquarium. It weirded out the cats too.
Have you had a Salsa sighting today? Hope he is okay.

Wish I had my camera to hand yesterday, too. I picked up a trowel in the garden and guess what I found underneath? We were both shocked!
Better that you only had a trowel in hand, a shovel would have been worse. It's okay. They adapt pretty fast.
Must have really startled you though. The chorus is so loud at night, you can't hear yourself talk. I have to put on the MOM voice to call in my cat at night.
I'll try for more photos today, schedule permitting.

Good day out at the pond. Spotted 5 frogs if you count the one my Mom brought from Ca for me. It was funny, she was visiting for a few days and placed this frog by the pond on thursday. It took me until saturday afternoon to notice it. I wanted to show my Mom the real frogs and I guess I was to wrapped up in finding them that I did not see this one. How I missed this one for so long I will never understand!
Bea,
No Salsa sightings? I'm beginning to worry about that skinny frog. It's good to see Penny. She looks content, I didn't realize that she was such a pretty green shade underneath. Melvin is still sad about Big Mama. I miss her too. I'll bet the new guy is tired. He has to fight for territory, catch food, catch females Ha Ha. What a life!
I've done stuff like that too. I used to blame the kids. Come to think of it, I still do! I think your Mom still has some kid left in her. ^_^
You leave one like hers out in our sun and it would melt. I know, my boys have done it.
Thought you'd get a kick out of this 'water feature' in my gh. Sorry about the quality. Cropped one I already had.
Cracks me up!

Sorry, we cross posted Bea. But AWWWW! That would be nice, put a smile back on Melvins' mug!

Still have not see Salsa. I think he went back to the neighbors house! My Mom just turned 80 and I was really surprised at her mischief!. Hopefully it will continue for many more years... She is talking about driving to Oklahoma to see her brother with her one eyed Shitzu as her passenger & security. We are all trying to talk her out of it!!!
I like your GH water feature and the tucans are a very nice touch! Cute!
I like your mom, Bea!
You really must do a book about these frogs.
SW, I LOVE toucans!!!
Will take better photo so you can see the resident frog.
Kinda thought you'd like the Toucans, KC. They just sort of belong there don't they? LOL! They are so easy to take care of too. Just dust 'em off every once in a while. LOL! I also have a tribute to Pele on the other side. It's not much, and no I didn't steal any rocks from Hawaii. I brought home live turtles instead. Weird I admit.
I am definitely worried about Salsa. Hope he shows up soon somewhere.
Bea, tell your Mom, that it really isn't a good idea for her to travel alone that distance. The dog can travel with her on a plane, and surely her brother or other family can pick her up from the airport in OK.
When is she planning on going? We're going to OK, this summer, and if you can't talk her out of it, maybe we can caravan and keep an eye on her.

SW..thanks for the offer. She has not made her final plans yet as all of her children are not wanting her to drive. Your right ..it is just not safe. She can afford a plane ticket, that is not the problem. She wants to drive cross country one last time before she goes through the pearly gates. I can understand her desire..but she is not the easist person to travel with. All 8 of us have traveled with her at one time or another... :( plus she drives very slow!!
Well one more frog this evening. A little guy resting Looks like algae is coming back. Oh darn!
Shame she won't let you chouffer (sp) her across country. I understand her feelings flying vs. driving, sad when you can't do the things you like anymore. She really shouldn't travel alone. I hope you all can either go with her, or talk her out of it. Maybe you could talk her brother into flying out to visit her? Just a thought.
Algae is part of a healthy ecosystem, you can always remove a bunch of it by hand, but remember the pollywogs eat it or something in it, and the frogs often lay their eggs in it. I noticed my algae disappeared when I had all the pollys. Since the Black Crested Night Heron came to visit I notice it is coming back again. I think he ate a lot of my pollywogs. Oh well, he was hungry. He is welcome to a meal every once in a while.
Went back out and tried to get a better photo of my resident frog. Not happy with the quality of the photo. Best I could do though.
One of the kids I used to take care of left this for me one day. It took me a week to see it. Of course it blended in pretty good on that yellowish rock, but still, what was I thinking? Probably about his safety, he was always into something.

We have a glow-in-the-dark solar frog one of our neighbors gave us. I'm not sure if he's even glowing anymore, but he still has a home on the rock.
