Shame she won't let you chouffer (sp) her across country. I understand her feelings flying vs. driving, sad when you can't do the things you like anymore. She really shouldn't travel alone. I hope you all can either go with her, or talk her out of it. Maybe you could talk her brother into flying out to visit her? Just a thought.
Algae is part of a healthy ecosystem, you can always remove a bunch of it by hand, but remember the pollywogs eat it or something in it, and the frogs often lay their eggs in it. I noticed my algae disappeared when I had all the pollys. Since the Black Crested Night Heron came to visit I notice it is coming back again. I think he ate a lot of my pollywogs. Oh well, he was hungry. He is welcome to a meal every once in a while.
Went back out and tried to get a better photo of my resident frog. Not happy with the quality of the photo. Best I could do though.
One of the kids I used to take care of left this for me one day. It took me a week to see it. Of course it blended in pretty good on that yellowish rock, but still, what was I thinking? Probably about his safety, he was always into something.
