What are they? They are cool looking. I just found this thread - landscaping programs.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks for those nice shots, Shelly! I love pulmonaria. I have a lot of it around the yard.

Those are nice, Allison .... Shelly has the greatest pics, don't she!??!!

I saw that article from Jan, and I thought it was awesome. Thanks for the link! I needed to re-read that again!

Thomaston, CT

Oooh--most tempting photos! NJ is waaay ahead of us, but I did find 2 spots of hope---hyacinth foliage in the south garden, & heath/heather? bells budded in front of the house.

I think it's heather.

No matter what it is we are finding signs of life.

Actually, the sedum shows up long before hostas for me.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Yep there are no hostas. I found a noid sedum thats charging forth.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm lovin' this weather!!! The sun is so nice and warm. Here are a few blooms from this morning.

Nice crocus and card Anita. What software does that?

White crocus up here too (yellow bloomed before the snow).Planted the crocus below in the lawn which is still covered with snow, squirrels relocated them near the house, an area they like better I guess:

Not fair! I have crocus foliage but no blooms yet.

Can you believe I had a bee already?! Here he is in a snowdrop.

David - I said that snowdrops have not spread much for me but here is a nice new mass.

I wondered if they clumped up like that Victor. Like to see it when they all open. Are you going to thin them out or let them be?

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Wanted splotches of color in the lawn so I did not plant crocus mixes. Left a lot of space between colors. Plan was for darker colors near the house and all white 100 feet away, near the road, to offset the house (which is white)

Squirrels didn't like my plan:

Since they're so tiny, I will probably leave them.

Rockport, ME(Zone 5b)

I was just outside, morning that there's really not much but daffs yet in my yard, and a bee buzzed me! Poor thing, I have no idea what they're going to do for nutrition at this point. First year I've had black pussy willows...I like the dark stems, but the catkins are kind of unappealing to me, so very black! I also have gray for the first time, they're rather sweet.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I would really like a corkscrew willow.... would look good next to harry

it was sssssoooo nice to just sit on my deck for the first time... i did some cleaning up too.. but I am enjoying this day so far... here are some bird pics

I'm just in from some cleanup too. Wonderful to be outside again! Nice shots, Allison. Who's the big guy flying?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I think a large crow... and a TV... and towards the end a hawk... but not sure

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sorry - I should have been more specific. I meant the one at the end. I guessed hawk also.

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

What are the first ones, Allison? We have lots of them, chick-a-dees and the ocassional cardinal but that is about it. Someone told me they are catbirds but the ones I see on an image search don't have the tuff on the head yours and mine do.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks - software is Fotofusion by Lumapix. I like it.

I was excited to see my columbine starting to wake up. I noticed some green on one of my mums as well as the Autumn Joy sedum.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

It's nice to see the different groups of hellebores. It's easier for me to visualize. They are growing on me!!!

Am loving seeing all the new growth popping up.

Rockport, ME(Zone 5b)

Those little grey guys with the tuft is a titmouse. We have scads, but they're fun to watch.

I love those pictures allison, they're great! as per usual!

David... I like your plan even if the squirrels didn't. apparently they have not sense of color coordination.

Thanks Willie! you're way to kind! But, are you sure that your glasses aren't rose colored? lol I agree completely about the pulmonarias. They are one of my favorite shade plants.

Onewish and Schicken..... Thanks...I think that purple and peach one is one of my favorites as well, I don't even know what the underside of it looks like!

awesome collage Anita!!! I have a Lumix...does that software come with the camera? I don't remember seeing that on the cd that came with my camera. It probably doesn't matter though, I'm low on space on the computer right now anyhow....... but i'm working on resolving that!!

great pictures Victor! your hellebores are very quickly catching up to mine!!! really! I love your dawn redwood. I can't believe you have one of those on the size of property that you have.

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Drumlin...thanks.... suspected I had been misinformed. The are officious little guys. Always checking everything out. Put out feed but aside from those and the chick-a-dees, not many birds stop by.

Kerria is new to me Victor. Looks nice. Reading up I see it doesn't need a lot of care. Perfect!...lol..

Front lawn was covered with snow this morning. By afternoon, most had melted and c. sieberi was in bloom (albeit it a little squashed down, I think, by the snow):

Kerria is very nice, David. Long-blooming shrub that will thrive in deep shade.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

No the software is from here. http://www.lumapix.com/index.shtml .

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i'll be moving my kerria this year to make room for jm's - will transplant them some place else - should have a bunch of extra bunches with good root systems - mine are the double bloom variety - if anyone wants some i can pot them up and we can figure out how to get them to you later

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Here's one I forgot. Heptacodium.

I like that Heptacodium shot, Victor.

Wha, I may take you up on the Kerria offer. That's very generous of you. I have a lot of shady areas.

It looks like I'm going ahead with having the new stacked stone walls built. I'd like to get them built before the gardening season gets into full swing. As it is, I'll have a lot of plants to pot up and replant during construction. They offered to do it for me but I'd rather handle them myself. I'll keep everyone posted. Here is one of walls that will be replaced, the stairs too.

the stairs to be replaced...the area on the right will be terraced into two beds.

Today's project was assembling new self watering planters. I'm using them as a screen from the neighbors, planning on using Cannas from the co-op to make a tall "hedge".
