Hey Jaye, any chance of getting the names posted in the order of the Birthdays, to make it easy to keep track?
LK

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

However small you want it to be Deborah. You could use scraps to make one. I like making big stuffs, but I've seen some pretty minis.

LK, I'll do that after this, now that the only one waiting on her 2009 gift is sweet Laura. I agree, it will be much easier to keep track that way.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Deborah, I found this..

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Then there's this.. click on the Mini Quilt Patterns. I think the 9 patch will be easy, and you can use all kinds of fabrics instead of the red.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Oh my! that picture of the quilt with the house block in the middle gives me too many possiblities. Thanks Jaye!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You're welcome Sweetie... even in the EB book you got, there is a mini quilt shown too, I think.. or a wall hanging :D

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Laura;s move is going pretty well considering it is a move (dirtiest of the 4 letter words) They have most of the big stuff moved. Hope she will be in a better mood when this is out of the way....the last load before Sean goes to work today is all the yard and garden stuff....picnic table, bird feeders, birdhouses, pots and planters...... she will post some pics of the yard as soon as she get some time to get on the computer. The front is about 15 x 20 with a row of big Fir trees and %@#$% Ivy on the east side separating it from the high school parking lot.... there is one good sized rosemary in there and one next to the house. Other than that it is mossy grass and a stone planter next to the house, a giant Rhody in front of the door. The side and back "yard" (yard is a good term) is a strip about 4 feet wide....all shade. The front does get some sun during the day....Laura plans to map the sun schedule as soon as they get moved so she can start garden plans. The landlord is open to any gardening plans she wants to do.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

LK-you are mostest welcome-I set a couple other pkgs to other Aunties too:)

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Whew... just catching up here has made me tired.

Kim,,, good job on the closet.

Trisha... beautiful rainbow.

Bonnie... no problem here, you know I don't have a life, so when and if you can make it, I'll be here (except for Thurs afternoon).
Yes, we try to fatten everyone up... even foreigners.

Well... I got a blessing today...
Our neighbor who owns the company that built our retaining wall called me today to ask if I wanted some paver bricks that he had laying at the yard, and he wanted them out of the way. They're usually $3.50 sq ft, and he let me have them for $1 sq ft. Good commercial ones (3" thick instead of 2" thick). So, he's delivering them to me tomorrow... all 600 sq feet of them... more than enough to build my walk way from the drive way around the front of the house.
So, tomorrow Mike is home from school, and we're getting the shovels to digging. I'm so excited... been waiting 2 years for him to have some left over from a job. So, once again... another project jumps ahead in line of all the others... I'll never get done.

( Kim) Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Trisha

I don't have the series of pics, I do this one quick shot of part of Laura's yard to show what a blank canvas she has to work with! This is from her front door looking north towards the fence....mostly moss with a little grass right now, so anything will be an improvement!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Jaye I ask the Lord for more patience every day with her. She says she's religious and has Him plastered literally like a billboard all over her desk, but will lie lie lie about anything and everything to make herself right or to get out of trouble. Every Monday she has a migraine and the whole office is supposed to be quiet for her. She mentioned the time changing next week, I said how happy I am that there's going to be more daylight, she literally yelled, "Well Missy YOU Don't get up at 3:30am!!" I calmly told her, "No one is holding a gun to your head." She yelled back, "Well God is!" She lost a church friend not too long ago, she told me that he died because God had his way with him because he was jumping from church to church instead of settling with "her" church, which is the only church God visits. Is that a little off?? This woman will get up at 3:30am every day so her and her husband can make the 15 minute drive to be at Curves by 6am, then to walk a block to work, and she does her hair and makeup at work, then off work at 4:30pm to an hour drive to church until 10 to 10:15pm, then 45 minute drive back home, putting them home around 11pm, which means to bed at midnight, then up at 3:30am to do it all over again. I commend her for going to Curves and church like she does, but she's 25 to 30 years older than me and I can't do that.

I don't mean to sound mean or anything or to go against DG rules, I just want to put it into perspective of what she's like. I'm religious but I've never seen anything like this. I've seriously thought about going to counseling to learn how to deal with her better. Does anyone have anything to throw in on how to deal with her better?

Crissy sounds something like my cousin.....don't know if there is any way to deal with it.....

Hello everyone.lookslike you al have been very busy today.
Bj, That brick walk around to the front yard will look very nice, but WOW! What a job that will be. Why is Mike off from school tomorrow?
Trisha, sounds like you already have plans for Laura's yard! Glad to hear most of the moving is done. Now they get to unpack, and get settled in.
Hey Cody, how is your puppy doing? Hope she is getting better.

Good night everyone. Gonna take a sleeping pill, and get some sleep.

LK

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Trisha that's beautiful!

Just remember, there's a reason for everything, if it doesn't happen there's a reason for it. You may never know what that reason is, but there's a reason.

BJ that's awesome! Send him this way, I need to build up my front yard slope and the only way to do that is to tier bricks or whatever in like a stairstep. I'd like to build that and make each "step" a flowerbed. That would be gorgeous!

Wha?? No pot of gold? Trisha there should have been a pot of gold! Very pretty picture!

Nice plants everyone, you got me all jealous again! LOL

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Look really quick!!!!! I found the top of my dining table....it really was there!!!!

Thumbnail by zhinusmom
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh Wow!!! The top of a dining table, I thought all the stuff was just stacked from the floor up! LOL J/K!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Crissy, my advice in dealing with that lady is for you to pray for her. Pray every night asking God to slow her life style down so she can get the rest she needs. With rest I'd think she'd be much more pleasant. If she gets the rest and she's still mean, then just pray that God deals with her and ask him to keep her away from you. Tell God you are being nice to her but she is not reciprocating. Don't discuss any subject with her that's not job related. God listens and he'll take care of her one way or the other.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

With the clay work, leather work, moving, and DH dropping everything he walks in the door with there......won't tell you the last time this table top saw daylight! Now I can tell DH he has to pile his hats, books and stuff on HIS work bench instead of MY Table!!! Especially since the table is just about the first thing you see when you open the front door....

Raleigh, NC

(doin' the HAPPY DANCE) I'm on my way home!!!

Linda Kay, I sent you dmail. Not meant to be this time, but there's a strong probability it'll happen next time.
BJ - sent you some too. Save me a shovel for tomorrow - there's no room in the suitcase for these clothes, so I'll plan on helping you - will put dirty jeans in the computer case to get them home, and get them out to help dig.

Kim - that's some luscious midnight velvet posie!

Trisha - thank you - I feel blessed just seeing that photo.

Got to go jump in shower and bed - I'm getting up at 4 am to make the flight.

sweet dreams sweet people all. z-zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I've been there 1 1/2 years and she's treated me like this for about 8 months of it. She started being very competitive with me, and when she learned that I just don't care she got nasty. She's been doing this 3:30am stuff for probably 4 months, maybe. I have prayed for her but not in such detail, thank you for that, I will use it tonight. I try to ignore her but then she's over at my desk talking to me. Not one single person there likes her. One of my other co-workers might be moving to Dallas, TX and I'm hoping when she goes (it's not a matter of if, but when) I'll get her private office and her pay! That would be Awesome!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Crissy we will pray that you get relief from this person, the office and the pay.......we phrase our request carefully.....as this is the story our pastor told us Saturday night.....

......the man told God, "I know that our thousands and thousands of years are only minutes in your time Lord, and our millions and billions of dollars are only pennies to you....all I ask is can you please give me just one penny?"
A voice from the heavens replied, "Of course, I will be back in just a second."

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Kim that purple is so lovely!!!

Trisha, I love that picture. It's one of His visible smiles ^_^ !!! Simply awesome!! Thanks also for that warning on hand sanitizer.
How about this one Trisha... a man prays to the Lord for a million dollars.. Lord answers, not with a nickel prayer..

BJ, I'd say you strike gold!! I need more paving stones/bricks around here, more as raised footpath when it rains! Wow.. you're one lucky woman, to have a neighbour so generous. He could have charged you more.

Bon, are you really meeting BJ.. I mean helping her?? Wow!!

So sorry Joyce (JSX).... it seems you truly need that Bailey's... between the complaints of your cable guy and your son :( and of course the inevitable snow you're getting... what a birthday!!! Maybe next year, it will be a better one!

Crissy, it's religions that nailed Jesus to the cross!! Not getting on a soap box, but when I'm asked if I'm religious, I'd reply, I love Jesus.
When one loves God, then you do everything just as He would.. of course, being human that's impossible.
What sistah Deborah advised is very simple and effective. Serious! Just pray for her and release her to Our Lord. Admit that only He can help her, and only He can steer her towards a more peaceful state of mind and that will lead to her being more 'pleasant'.

Cody, have a nice in-home vacation with Rob :D

Well, Kel just puts on Billie Holiday.. think she'll serenade me to sleep!

Turn up that electric blanket, and I'll be soon in dreamland!

Good night sweet ladies..

Good morning everyone.. hurriedly making hot beverages and please help yourselves to warm croissants.
Good for you Cody.. and when he's through helping you, there are BJ and I :D
Trisha, there are a couple other 'net jazz radios from Seattle too. One I used to listen to would be from NPR with the late Ed Bradley. And you know how choppy it is with dial-up.
Sis Kathy, I do hope you pop in and just say "Boo!".

It's gonna be in the 40's here all day.......... brrrrrrrr......

Stay warm ladies.. see me later this afternoon :D

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Morning girls

thanks for the goodies Jaye ...yummy

gee seems the devil is really trying to cause a stir in our lives lately from what I am reading.
God is trying to make us stronger or something for sure.
I came home depressed last night because of the petty junk people pull at work and all because they have nothing better to do in their life
I wanted so bad to go in today and when the lil click that sits in the drivers room came in for lunch to go out of my office and just give them a piece of my mind and just run them over exactly what others see them doing that they may or may not be doing and by the time I got done they would be sitting there with their bottom jaws on the floor and feel like the fools.....BUT that would be stooping to their level and I already know I don't have to do a thing or justify anything to them as God knows what I do and don't do and my heart and he will deal with them in his time.
I am in awe of the petty behavior and jealousy that is going on ...
I know every work place has it's issues but gee I've never seen it like this before ..it's irritating yet funny at the same time.
If they aren't in the "know" of everything going on they stir things up all the while smiling and pretending to be a "friend"

I can't wait til Friday then we have a whole week off so they will be totally lost next week with no one to start things about. ....hehehehe

Your all in my thoughts and prayers daily and hopefully next week I can jump in and we can have some fun *S*

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Hope you all slept well?
Jaye, thanks for breakfast.
Bon, so sorry uou could not get this way, but I understand your situation. You take it easy on that flight. Wow, that is early! What time do you wake up BJ? Are you getting a rental car, or is someone picking you up?
Bj, don't work her too hard in your garden!
Trisha, why did you clean off that table? Now I will have to clean off mine! I thought they were supposed to be piled high with "stuff"! LOL

You all have Blessed day!
