Jaye, he said they go through this about every other year with the snow cliffs... since the Alps runs exactly through the center of Austria... no one is safe from the avalanches. You do know that you can fit all of Austria inside the state of Texas, right? Well most of that is mountains... and when snow starts to slide, and picks up momentum with debris in it... it can travel forever... BUT, on the plus side... they've never had a volcano eruption... about the same kind of damage can be done, though.

Ok... now... Trisha... girlfriend... I don't remember what thread you posted the recipe for that Apple Sauce Cake, but let me tell you something...
SHAME ON YOU !!!
I just put it in the oven... but, something I've done since I was a little girl when mom was teaching me to cook, is to taste the cake batter before I put it in the pan. That batter almost didn't make it to the pan today... it was almost like pudding. I promised Don that I'd save him some for his lunch tomorrow... but I don't know now. AND Mike didn't promise anything... I'm so anxious for it to finish baking and cool now... I'm drooling.
I even had some apples that were too ripe to eat... they'd gone pethy... so, I made my own apple sauce for the cake... was just exactly enough.

Gotta go check on dinner now... and watch that darn cake rise... gonna have to mop the drool up off the floor though when it's done.

I am getting close to my house I am at my Dads He has gone to the Nursing home to recoup but its bad We are to have a family meeting to see if he can come home than Why I have been in The UP my Mother get very sick and has to be rush to the hospital it wasn't the stomach flu so my sister have been going back and forth to hospital. See what happens with bad girl all crap happen
Well I still haven't been home and it will be saturday that I get there sorry I haven't written but computers are far away just want you all to no I am safe and running late again on the swaps sorry will get back latter this is dial up and I can't stand this ok

The doctor says mom is doing great!!! Gave some meds to help her sleep....most of the issues at this point are in her head, not her knee.

Think I may take Sage for the weekend....supposed to rain and be cold and windy on Sunday so good excuse to avoid a bike ride.....I know i'm bad......

Need to do a few things around here, check back in a bit....

Cody, when we got back just now, Kel shone on the star magnolia and it has blooms!!!! But they're small and yet has more blooms than last year. Goes to show I haven't been checking the garden the past few days!

I had to wait till it cooled to cut it... so, Mike and I put a movie on... about half way through it, I couldn't stand it anymore... and it was cooled off... so I sliced me a piece... OMG... a little piece of heaven. HOWEVER, I think the next one I make, I might cut back a bit on the sugar... it was just a bit too sweet... but OH so good.

Someday, when I have more time on my hands, I'll have to check out that site with the funny animals.

Gotta go fix Don's lunch for tomorrow, tonight. He's leaving at 4am, and I do not want to get up that early.

Ladies, I am sorry I haven't posted the pictures but I am up to my eyeballs getting the information edited to resubmit for the program. It has to go to the printer by the first of the week in order to have them ready for the festival. Losing a week with my computer did not help any!!!!!! Only a little more to do and I will have it all submitted for the art department to finalize. You will know when it happens as a loud noise will be heard from this part of the country. It will be the sigh of relief heard round the world!!!

I guess Debra is really busy now as time is passing quickly. I do hope she takes time to relax and enjoy this wonderful time in her life. If you are lurking dear, remember to take care of yourself.

Kathy, hoping you the 'lil Hurricane, Mike and your daughter are all recovering from the bugs and you will be back with us really soon.

Found my real freeze damage today!! Not a happy camper either---my Christmas cactus really are finished--well 2 out of 8 are mush. Had them in a protected place on the deck and covered but still looks like I will lose 2. Tiny little hosta peeking through the leaves--wahoo I think Spring is on it's way for sure.

Jaye, Kim and I had a horribile disagreement when she came home today. She claims those were meant to make her something as they are her colors. Got news for Miss Kim--she can just think again!! LOL

Oh BJ the cake sounds so good. I love anything will apples!! Might have to make me come apple crisp this weekend.

Morning ladies!!!

Trying to catch up on all your chat. Spending so much time at the hospital with Mom and Dad surely does take a toll.

Well....WOOHOOO!! Mom is in TCU at Otterbein. They transported her by E.M.T. Ambulette at 4:45 yesterday. She feels so much better being there and it is so close for Dad. I was told I didn't need to come unless I felt like it, so I may take the weekend off. Maybe...

We are watching Kavin tomorrow. Little baby Colby Jonathan is due in 9 weeks and they don't have the nursery ready for him so they want to work on that without any Kavin "help". :O)

Dad rode to Otterbein with Mom so I brought his car home. Mom said just bring it over sometime tonight...so I came home and had a cocktail. Bless Bill's heart, I told him before I left for the hospital that I didn't want to have to think about dinner when I got home. So when I walked in there was cubed meat in the crockpot. He had cut up the roast browned it and put it in there. I said how long has it been in there and he said about an hour.... :o( I said no way is it done then and he said I browned it until the red was gone...so I ate a bite and after chewing for about a minute, spit the tough ole cow out. So I made some chicken quesadillas and let the beef continue to cook. Right when I put the plates on the table, Dad called and said, Guess what. You have my house keys AND the opener to the garage! He hadn't eaten since 11:00. So we wolfed our food down and took the car over to him.

Please know that I'm praying for all you who need it for you and yours.

Good Saturday Morning, Ladies !!!

It's hard to believe it's 41* here, and I'm taking Mike swimming... sheesh. They tell me it's an indoor water park, and is kept warm inside... I sure hope so, cause this is new to me (and him).

Well, the cake was such a hit last night, that it's going in my binder of FAVS... Don got home around midnight last night and still smelled the aroma of it baking. He didn't have a piece then, but I put a slice in his lunch for today, and this morning at 4am, as he was leaving, he sliced himself a piece to take with him and eat on the way with his coffee... there will be crumbs all over the car now. He just called and said he LOVES it... not too sweet for him. Made me want another piece, so I just had a slice with my coffee... it's not too sweet this morning...
Ok... enough about that blasted cake... it is addicting.

I also made tonight's supper, last night. Macaroni goulash is always better the next day. So, when we get home from the water park, all I have to do is warm it up, and make a pan of cornbread. Don will be home around 7pm, and we'll all have dinner together... that doesn't happen very often on Don's schedule.

Joyce, I'm so glad to hear about your mom... and also, that you have a couple days off from running back and forth to the hospital... that alone can take it's toll on you. Take care of yourself too... dear sistah... even when she gets to go home, they're going to need you... and you don't want to get your resistance down.

Stace... that's a wonderful pick of fabrics. I love the purple one... and the fairy one reminds me of some window dressings I once saw in a den with a garden theme ... they just had a splash of whimsy in some poofy valances with lots of sheers under it. Was sooo adorable.

Well, better figure out what I'm going to wear today... don't think the shorts I was planning to wear will do now, since the weather turned cold.

I forgot to tell you my good fortune yesterday. While at exercise class, the instructor said her son has chickens that lay the easter egg colored eggs plus brown, too. He sells them and I said I'm in!!! I have 3 dozen coming on Tuesday at....ready???....$2.00 a dozen. I'm in heaven! Farm fresh for $2.00!!!!! Unbelievable!!! YAY...can't tell I'm happy, huh?

I talked with Kathy this morning. The tornado hit just down the road from them, but the only damage they have is flooding. They are starting to mend and she said she'd be back....hope so, miss her sooooo much!!!

Sounds like having Mike with you, has been a blessing. You're are more 'spirited' lately. Bet your sense of humor's also sharpened.. besides your wits!!! Have fun BJ at the indoor waterpark!

It's raining and Kel calls to say he wants to go book shopping. So, what's a girl to do but say yes!!!!!!!! Maybe he can be persuaded to stop at my fav. quilt store, just to say hello to the staff :D

I've been watching the weather like a fiend and praying for everyone in tornadoes path, I'm so glad they were spared. I need to go check on my midsouth group, tornadoes have been happening in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia all day yesterday and looks like all night last night.

things have just been so *ugh* at work the 3 blind mice as we call them have been a pain in everyone's neck they just can't seem to grow up and get past things....but that's okay as God will deal with things as needed so I just keep bein myself.

The blazer that the step son has ben driving that was our means to get a tiller and be able to hook trailers to has now given up the ghost so I guess to get the garden area going I'm gonna have to go out and just dig and dig to get it turned over and ready to plant. I want to get my cool weather stuff out as last year I was already eatin onions, radishes and such.
Hopefully the week of Spring break which is just a week away I will have enough in pay to rent a back hoe so we can get the ground leveled and such out back so it is ready to get some kind of grass put down so it will be green come sept.

Shelly ordered her dress and I asked for a swatch of the sage green so I can go get the cake order finalized and I found a dress for me to order and the fudge monkeys will work I just have to get the right timing down for getting it into the molds before it starts to get firm.

Cookie, glad mom is doing better…..you get some rest and take care of yourself too. I have Sage so Laura and Sean can get some of the moving done without Sage help (or complaints)

Hi Crissy.....that cake really is fantastic and I like it even better with the cranberries...it IS Very Sweet and the tartness of the cranberries offset that just perfectly.

Sage and I have to go return the Walker and the bed table mom has been using. We have this great couple here in town who rent a Storage unit and take donations of walkers, wheelchairs, tables, bath chairs and all of that type of equipment. For a half hour 3 mornings a week you can go there and get what you need at no cost....all they ask is a donation to help with Storage Rent.....whatever you can afford.....and no charge if you can't afford it and that you return it at the point it is no longer needed. What a blessing that is....mom only needed the equipment for a few weeks....a decent walker starts around $250 and goes up!!

Better see if I can Sage dressed.....I think she would live in her Jammies if I would let her.

OH please pass some strong coffee this way!! Worked until 2 AM and I need my java!!! I hope Kathy and all are okay--this weather is really getting to be a hassle. We are suppose to get severe weather starting this afternoon-- said we could expect really severe storms and heavy rains. Hope not!!!
