LOL BJ you are soo funny.. I have like 20 pots of it .. I had 12 flats last year but sold them off quick..
Well Max is up and we need to go get his check. Will be back later...
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞108
I was in room 107 reading then saw that Jaye started a new room so I clicked on that it brought me here made a post at 5:30 my time and it just disappered. But then I go back to 107 and there it is.
Just got back from Cirves, heading for the hot tub then going to start working on the compost bin. Nice and sunny, rain coming in sometime tomarrow so will be outside as much as possiable.
Well, I think the reason you can get HIV form a needle is that it has to do with blood in the needle-when blood hits the air, HIV is killed (at least when I did a term paper in college this info was correct), but in a mosquito it is their food source and is digested-not left in the nose part-and a mosquito can only get so much blood B4 it is full and has to wait-usually it fills off one person at a time-does that make any sense?? Like I said-this info was correct about 13 yrs ago-if it is still correct now, I have no idea...
I won't be back on til Sunday-going to mom's this weekend for the orchid show, quilt shop perusing and quilt block cutting:)
Have a great time with your mom, Stacey... sounds like a nice bonding weekend you'll have with her. I miss those times with my mom.
Well... Don seems to think that 12 flats of jasmine won't be enough... he's thinking more like 25 flats. I need it to go around our channel, about 8' wide in places, that will fill in the area between a path through the gardens, and the retaining wall... and I want it to trail over the steel wall down toward the water... so, he might be right about the 25 flats... maybe not this year... maybe we'll do that as a big project next year.
Hello Ladies,
I just got home from the doctors and I am doing good.. So I am happy for that... Work went well this week as only Tuesday was really busy and hurting on my body.. The other two days were real good. Got to come home 45mins on Wed and Thursday I went in late as I over slept so I got there around 10 to 9 and I left at 11... Did two surgeries and left... So good week for me...
Well I am going to play with my plants today so I will be back later... I hope you all have been well and keeping out of trouble...LOLO
Love ya,
Susan
All these talks of spiders and bugs ...... yek ......... especially when you have cedar trees growing around.
So good to know you're improving Susan. You might have to visit LK for some warmth, too, besides Sissy!
Have fun Stacey! I'll go broke at any quilting stores.
OK.. you know how we complain of always needing a man's strength for any worthy projects we'll be doing? Well, how about this equation for SOME men we used to know;)
3 men's brains = 1 wise woman ^_^
Hey Susan, nice to see you posting. You take care of yourself, and don't over do it in the garden.
Wow, Bj. 25 flats of jasmine is a lot, but it will be so nice when you get it done.
Always something to keep us busy. Guess it is true when they say a womans work is never done!
LK
Good Morning all! wow - snow??
Pat and Roy took me to the Riverwalk. We wore shorts, it was 88 degrees. I'll put some of the photos here when I get them uploaded.
it was a long day yesterday - but cooped up in the apartment on a hot day, the best I could do was upload "Roller Coaster Tycoon" on Pat's computer. She's been begging for it. Then she saw she didn't get the parks I'd already built, only the starter ones. So spent a whole morning building her a park for her to play with. The game makes her smile - she doesn't smile much anymore.
sissy - yeah, Idaho = long hard winters. My first winter there it was -43 degrees, without the wind chill, which took it very low.
RoseGirl - that magnolia is so yummy I swear I can smell it!
Jaye - you SHOULD see green leaves on your irises. have you got them mulched?
Fairy - irises can withstand heaving from frost and thaw, but rot less if you keep them in the ground. One of the big growers in your area keeps bagged soil around in a garage, then scoops some on top of anything that heaves out, tamps down lightly, and voila! it's planted again! If you get a lot of heaving, then you'll need to mulch with pine boughs or some thing like that.
Joyce - i've been forgetting to write that my prayers are also with you and your mom.
Hey Bon, Glad to hear your getting out and doing some site seeing. How much longer are you going to be there? Hope your friend is doing OK.
LK
Roy got a message yesterday when we were out. He's got a good job offer, which he's taking. He starts work Monday! Praise God! so I'll be going soon, but I may be needed to drive Pat to the doctor first, since he'll be in training for months. She's having good days and bad days, but her personality has changed drastically, which is very sad for me - she's always been to full of joy.
Bon-I was hesitant to mulch as they like to breathe-I have been just going around when there isn't snow and tucking them back in the ground with my fingers;) I do have some soil, so will have to get some in a bucket and take that around next time:)
Since Mom's puter is in the shop, I don't anticipate being able to be back on til Sunday-I am lucky to be so close with her as a lot of people don't care for their in-laws!!
wish my ILs could come for a long visit. I miss FIL fixing and building around here! (DH didn't get that gene from him...) MIL is so precious to me - she's such a delight and the bestest guest ever - I named our youngest after her, actually after both gmas.
Well, I know Bonnie is leaving San Antonio after the weekend, because she's coming to MY HOUSE as she passes through Dallas... she's getting a layover in Dallas on purpose just to come see me.... how cool is that?
I do hope her lay over is over night... a couple hours just won't be long enough.
Yep... 25 flats is a lot... that's why I'm considering that a MAJOR project and will have to set aside enough time and money to get it all done at once with nothing else to interrupt us. SOMEDAY !!!!
I'M BACK! The guys at work got my computer going again and didn't even have to wipe anything. Saved me $300 and boy, am I grateful.
Yes, Stacey is coming this weekend and we are going to the MSU Orchid Show on campus. I can't grow orchids but love to go to the show since it is just at that time of year I want something green. I seem to be able to grow anything outside, but inside I plant it and it dies! The only thing I can grown is shamrocks and they are so forgiving that I can do anything to them and they just keep coming back. Love those little plants. No little green things popping up in MY yard. It will be another month until I wil see anything at all.
I am so far behind in things. I still have two quilt blocks to do and then the baby quilt, too. I usually have my taxes done by the end of January and this year I haven't even started. Of course, I think I owe so I'll wait until the very end to pay anyway.
Our high today was suppose to be 70*... it's already 78*, and counting... something wrong with our forcasters.
Plugging right along with the compost...
Janice, an uncle back in Singapore used to have an orchid nursery. Every evening at 5, he'd piped music to his 3 acres nursery. Said that made his 'anak-anak' (children) happy!! You'll have so much pleasure at the show, I'm sure. Used to be an expensive hobby, but so many of those lovely vandas are affordable.
No Bon, nothing yet. Thank you for giving your time to help your friends. Proud to call you Sistah.
Now we know we'll be getting pictures of you and BJ right? Perhaps you could return in May again???????
BJ... question... how is Mike adjusting to Texas crazy weather?
Better get busy with cleaning and laundry and cleaning ...
See me later!!!!
You got a great price there Cody!! I paid 35!! Good job Rob!! Get her more!!
Betty Scheffield is my favorite. You should have some solids whites and reds besides the striped ones on one plant!!
OK>>> back to work :D
Thanks Mama Jaye,i will get more.We may go to Forest Hill next week sometime and i will get more.
Good afternoon ladies! (Morning to you and me Cindy)
Yes Jaye, the clothes are clay too…some white, some translucent, a little green and several sprinkles of Paprika!!
We have beautiful sunshine here so far today and it got COLD last night……but as always here this time of year the rain is not far behind….
BJ, I know what you mean, there are a lot of sistahs out of action recently…..the past few days have been quiet enough on here that I actually been able to more or less keep up…..that is a strange feeling.
As for the dust bunnies, lucky I have a big cat and a self appointed guard dog ,’cause that is just a baby one!
LK I will take the Tarantulas over the ants any day….we used to play with them when we were kids. They really don’t hurt anything….other than scaring the beejeez out of you.
Have a great weekend Stacey….we will be looking to see all your goodies when you get back!
Hi Susan, glad to hear things are going well, have fun in the garden but don’t over do it!
Hey Bonnie sounds like things are going pretty well…..You’re Going To BJ’s….Lucky You!! You two know the requirement…we all want to see pictures!
Jaye, about the KFC…
Oh God!! Forest Hill!!! That's another place I can break a bank easily.. the other is Stoke's Nursery in Jeanerette/New Iberia :( Shop till your truck has no more room.. and then you might have to sit on Rob's lap, to make room Cody!
Trisha, you got me laughing there! Smart rooster!
Mama Jaye you are so funny!!!!!!!I love to go to Forest Hill i go about once or twice a year.I know i'm going to fill up on Camellias.HEHE!!!!
Jaye, me too, I had a great laugh when I saw that one!
OMG... Trisha... you have to email me that pic...(so it doesn't have the writing on it)... I know a few I'd like to pass that along too... I'm still ROFL.
Jaye... Mike comments every day how crazy it is here... he said back in Austria the whole country is under the highest level of avalanche alert... The Alps have had so much snow this season that it's formed cliffs, and as soon as some starts melting, the cliffs are likely to just fall off, and go tumbling, taking all sorts of rocks and trees with it as it plows into a town. That's really scarey. And here we are enjoying spring weather, and planting our gardens.
Had to run a couple errands, and have stopped long enough to eat a bite... then I'm back to work in the compost.
I'M TALKING TO KIMMIE,(FLAM KIM)NOW,AND HER MOM AND DAD IS STILL SICK.SO PLEASE PRAY FOR THEM BOTH.KIMMIE IS OK SHE IS ON HER WAY HOME.

She told me to tell you all that she would check in this evening or when ever she got back. She also said HI to everybody.
Afternoon sistahs, sorry I haven't posted lately. I have been reading some until the page turned to another one. Then I thought, humm, sistahs are mightly quiet. Then I thought, aha, they've moved. So, found ya! LOL
I've been baseballing out of town about three days a week. That always takes the wind out of my sails as far as energy goes. It takes about 1.5 to get there and 1.5 to come home. We have been freezing sitting at the games. I'll be glad when it warms up. Today would have been a great day for ball, but no game today.
So I worked in a large flower bed today. Pulled all the early clover out of it. Then I hauled compost and spread it out around whree the flowers will come up. Lastly I laid pine straw in the bed. One down, 8 to go not counting the big beds that wrap around a fishing pond. That will be a week's job right by itself.
At night I've been sewing burping cloths. I found some terry cloth hand towels for 1.20 each. I'm sewing material that matches the nursery. Ashley doesn't like themes so she just uses patterns of coordinating colors. The walls are mint green with a huge stick on pink initials of Riley on the wall over the crib. The crib pads sheets etc. are pinks, mint greens, and chocolate in pokeadots, stripes, and pasley in various accessories.
I'm going to her house Sat to do some heavy duty spring cleaning for her.
Some of her friends are hosting a drop in shower at her house so everyone can see the nursery.
I have been faithly reading my Bible every night. Studying he's word is helping me tremendously. I'm still smoke free and I have to give the Lord all the credit for it. I know I could not do it alone. He is my comforter and my savior.
You sistahs looking forward to spring I know. I'm almost antsy about it. Mama still is expecting snow this weekend. She's cooked up some pinto beans, corn bread and a pork roast just incase the lights go out. She has firewood and a portable tv-lantern that runs on a big battery. So far this winter she hasn't had to use it. I'm praying she doesn't have to and spring will come to her house soon. Y'all be good my sweeties.
Ooooo... Sweet Deborah... so good to see you're still with us !!!! Try not to over do it, and please... take a pic of that nursery for us... the colors sound scrumptious.
I've filled the compost bin to the brim... I've quit for the day...
Watered it down one more time and now I'm going to give it a few days to settle down... believe it or not, it's 4' deep now, but in a week or two, after some rains... it'll only be about 1' deep.
I'm going to take a good book with me to the water park tomorrow, and just sit in a lawn chair and read while Mike is swimming with the other AFS students... I need a full day of rest, I think. Otherwise, I'll be down like Jaye because she over does it. Someday, we'll learn we can't get it all done in a day... maybe.
Cody, thank you so much for posting that important info from Kim. Nothing grips our hearts than a plea for prayers for any love ones.
BJ, Mike must be worried sick. Is his home near the mountains?? Goodness... hope there'll be no disaster in Austria.
Sistah Deborah, I agree.. trust only Him!! So proud of you for still being smoke free. Let me give you some congratulatory ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))!! And yes, please post pics of Riley's room. I can imagine she won't run out of burping pads :D
He he he BJ!!! I tend to overthink... not over do anything physically!! You and Donna are queens at that :D
I'm home!!! Oh my Jaye, that was some package indeed--the fabrics are wonderful but the surprise package is the absolute bestest!!! Yes, it has inspired me and I can hardly wait until the festival is over to start with the gorgeous pieces of fabric---LOVE the purple with the gold ladybugs!!!! BTW, did they not teach you how to count when you were a child? ROFLOL Not complaining as each one if more beautiful that the last one I picked up.
Trip to G'ville was fantastic. Stayed up practically all night visiting and tired isn't even close to how I feel now. It was good seeing all my friends in the garden club but I also was extremely happy to return home and my friends here! I missed you guys.
Festival progressing nicely and have a waiting list of vendors wanting to participate. Always good as there are usually last minute cancellation for various reasons.
Well need to bring things in out of the car and get something to drink before I start my pictures to post.
91 here now, and tomorrow will be a cold front of 76 with 32 at night. I hope that will be out last frost!
Trisha, I will send you every tarantula I find this summer! LOl
I hate those things! Ans the scorpions too if you want!
Hope you all have a great week-end.
LK
Marion, When you get your camera found, then charged, we would love to see some pictures of that fabric please.
You can't just brag about it and not share a picture! LOL
Glad to hear you had a good trip.
You get some rest, and post when you can.
LK
I know where the camera is and it is charged--just need a few minutes to breathe before taking my pictures. Believe me, they will be worth the wait--these peces are stunning!!! Leave it to Jaye!!!
Welcome home Maid M!!!!
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! You deserve the best, and it was high anxieties picking up the FQs for the one we love!!! Don't we need inspirations from unexpected 'muses'?
Spoke to Sis Kathy, and please say a prayer for her. Tornado alert there right now. She's recuperating though, but still tired.
My noisemaker just walks in.. so see me later everyone!!
Kimmie, i sorry your parents are still sick.My prayers are with you and your family.Be careful going home.
You are very welcome Mama Jaye.

I can't figure out why my legs swell ever so often. I only use Morton's low salt in the light blue box. But I get pitting edema about ever other week. What causes it?
