Here are both girls dancing in the foyer--don't ask me why!
Coffee Break # 5 - One week to daylight savings!
cute
You must be so proud, Robin! How adorable they both are!
anyone ever been to Wilsons BBQ in Fairfield, CT... saw them on Diners Drive-ins and Dives.. looked good
http://www.wilsons-bbq.com/wilsons_new/index.php
working from home today - decided to clean some bottles i use for brewing at lunch - accidently had some bleach splash up and get me in the eye - i can tell you it hurts
yeooow sir
At least it's clean!
^_^
Ps. OUCH!
Rinse well!!!
On the Gentle Cycle, of course!
Ouch!! After my eye mishap, I really sympathize. My vision finally came back to normal last week - about 6 or 7 weeks after the scratch!
Yep, that's what they gave DH, too. He is back to his ornery self, now.
OUCH, Bill.
We're walking over to the kids in a bit. A ladies fellowhip group was cancelled for tonight, and DDIL made a cheesecake, soooo.... No, really, we are going to see the Grandkids. (Yeah right).
i rinsed immediately - called my wife the DON (dir. of nursing) she called the doc office who said go to the emergency room - she was supposed to come and get me - i jumped in the shower - i know, why bother - the don called back - she had called the emergency poison's hotline and they said rinse and use some eye drops the DON had for an eye infection, lie down keep it closed for an hour - so i layed in bed and read with one eye - still sore and feels dry
my own fault - just trying to go to fast
Feel better! My don helps me with many problems. I just kiss his ring.
oh sorry to hear that Bill... feel better
thx all - i'm doing ok now - i just look like celeste's rabbit in one eye - and for work i have to read a boring 130 page report on backover accidents - ah the timing
Maybe the backover drivers did what you did!
sometimes they did -
it is the cameron gulbransen act to avoid back-over fatalities which unfortunately is usually very young children - NHTSA wrote their findings on evaluating technologies like mirrors, ultrasonic sensors and cameras to find if one is superior to the other. they are looking for responses and over the next two years will bring the requirements to law for new vehicles. so far cameras are deemed the best although the "value" placed having any of the technologies is less than $20 and i can tell you the cost about twice that to build let alone make a profit. for most it is only worth it after the fact
Cameras have to be the best option. Also, all vehicles should beep when backing up.
its usually a very young child or senior over 70 that is hit - beeping might help - have not read that yet. actually the best is ultrasonic/camera combo although then cost goes very high - this report claims the combo does not make an improvement although it is probably due to a lack of mature software programming than the technology
Heard from Candyce. She is doing fine and says hello. She hopes to be posting regularly soon!
Hope you're fine Bill.
thx dave - i can see so i'll be ok
Good! Dem eyes is important.
Good to hear Victor, I was just thinking today I had to d-mail her then for some reason I got distracted and never did it.
this is going to hurt a bit... but better than getting laid off I guess

Didn't know you worked for the state, Allison. Bummer. Hope things work out.
Allison, Will you have to take it 1 day each month? That would really stink. Lose 12 days pay and not even get to have an extra week off?
Re backovers: 2 girls in the Boston area were hit by a snowplow on a pickup truck backing up. That sized vehicle doesn't beep. It was discovered that the driver did not have a licence.
How terrible.
Tragedys are usually caused by people who dont drive, taking a vehicle for a spin.
Dont even get into drunk drivers.
Geez how horrible.
Allison, Much better than getting laid off, though.
Hello all.
Victor, thanks for passing along my message. After we emailed, I got to feeling guilty about not visiting my buddies on DG. So I'm back again! I usually don't do much 'online community' stuff in late January or February. Don't know why. I just can't seem to drag myself away from whatever major winter-time project I have going.
But, things have been normal around here ... well, as normal as normal is for this family! We have learned that you don't HAVE to leave the house if the outside temperatures are hovering around zero and you happen to have a chimney fire. Really! All is OK, and all we had was smoke, and not too much of that, either. So we were really lucky! Little Miss "M" was NOT impressed with the great, big, loud, firetrucks.
It's good to be back once again.
When I delivered mail I had my own vehicle for the rural route---just before I quit, I had to drive a regular mail truck---no vision in the back---very scary! Plus you have to watch a video of a toddler getting backed over---I had an uncle killed that way---didn't need to see it. I agree with the camera---what's a child's life worth?
allison don't feel bad my company has instituted that every employee must take 10 days off per qtr - after your vaca is used up - no pay for the additional days.
It's one thing to volunteer to take days off so that you and others in your company can stay employed. It's entirely another thing to have those days off mandated! I'd rather have the choice, given the choice. I feel bad for both of you.
Wow - sorry to hear that Bill.
tough times out there - my comp is in the automotive biz and this is pretty standard right now - there have also been layoffs here too.
