Coffee Break # 5 - One week to daylight savings!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

that is one ugly cat

Thomaston, CT

Hairless cats & dogs are really gross! I'd rather have a fluffy coon cat!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I second that.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Poor ugly kitty!

Well after 4 days of a fever I finally broke down and went to the ER.(DH made me really) I have bronchitis which is really strange for me....I'm almost 50 years old and have never had an upper respiratory infection before. This sucks!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh bummer, Celeste! You can't catch a break. Feel better soon.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

The threads will definitely be there tomorrow!

Go To BED!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

At least you found out what you had Celeste, feel better.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I had bronchitis a couple of weeks ago too. Its not a snap recovery (like strep). Get lots of rest!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Get on those antibiotics fast.
Thats what I had and pneumonia too.
That was Janyary 18th I still have a cough periodically.
We have got to be in shape for garden season Celeste.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

I hope everyone gets feeling better now that spring is within sight. Of course it's not the sight out the window today...but it is getting better and closer and closer. One week until DST and the sun is finally making it's arch along the southern view above the tall tips of oaks. So the sun is climbing higher and getting warmer, the days will seem longer and spring is on the way. Sooo long to Feb. and welcome to March. It can only improve I hope, and please be quick about it.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Rabbit!

Snowing here.

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Snowing here now! I came down with it a week ago Friday - and I am still recovering . . . I had one student tell me on Friday that 3 of his 4 classes Thursday were cancelled. I had taken Tuesday and Wednesday off - and sort of sat in the class Thursday while the students did an in-class assignment.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Off the subject a bit.
I'm psyched
My Gallery in nearby Canandaigua called in January to ask if I would teach a class. I said I would teach a one day workshop on Whiteline Woodcut printmaking, something I tought myself to do and am the only Whiteline woodcut printer west of the Birkshires as far as I know.
The gallery called on Friday to say there were five students signed up. This means the workshop will "go" and I will make some buck$$$$$
Most likely enough to pay my Bluestone bill.
This is what Whiteline looks like.

Different looking. Whats the pot doing in the sink?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Gorgeous, Jo Ann!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Awesome .... both in artwork and opportunity!

Sherrie, I think the pot on the sink is just sitting there. Growing flowers, of course.

;-)

Thomaston, CT

Why don't I live closer! Would love to take that class! Pixie---get lots of rest & fluids---have gone through bronchitis twice--do NOT want a repeat---turns into pneumonia quickly.

ewwe - That is not good! Celeste take your meds and lay down.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Willi gets the prize.
The pot is on the sink,it was filled with fresh flowers for a graduation ceremony at Linwood Gardens.
They were holding the ceremony there for "home schooled " kids in the area.
This is the photo I worked from

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Good for you, JoAnn! That is a lovely technique!

Celeste - so sorry to hear you are still under the weather. Bronchitis REQUIRES lots of rest and good meds to get it behind you, so take good care and keep quiet if you can. Hope you feel much better soon!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Jo Ann- that pic is really cool. I don't think I ever saw anything like that.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thank you all for the good wishes!! Going back to bed now like a good girl, cause im not. lol

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Way to go JoAnn. Congrats! Great picture.

Did they give you a Zpack of meds, pixie? That's what Jeff was given last week. He still coughs occasionally. But he went to Dr. on his own initiative and also having his students hounding him til he did. Feel better soon.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Stay well Celest.Fortunatly you wont have enough strength to do anything but rest which is what you need most.
Thankfully Its not good gardening weather either.
If you HAVE to be knocked out let it be in March not May.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Your right Jo Ann, no strength and im a terrible patient!!

Jan they put me on Azithromycin ~ 2 tablets the first day and 1 tablet a day for the next 4 days. They also put me on Acetaminophen-cod #3 ( Tylenol w/codine 3) I bruised a rib and my chest bone coughing.
I feel like one big black and blue boob. lol

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Same mirical drugs I had. They work too w/in 24hrs I was making a turn around.
Sorry about the ribs.
I was also ordered to take the over the counter Musinex.
No wonder herbs and chants was given up when patent medicines were invented. They work so much faster.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Spring news update. Saw Bluebirds heading north. But a flock of Tree Swallows heading north took a sharp U-Turn and heading back South as fast as there little wings could take them.

The temp are to drop down to 28 tonight. but here is something to brighten your day. The Blackberries vines are blooming.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nope, unless it's in the with the codine mixture....im just thankful that on day 6 the fever seems to be gone!! YAY!!!

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

Good morning everyone - who else gets a day off 'cause of the snow! (yippee!)

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I am sooooo glad you are on the mend, Celeste.

That can become so much more serious if left unchecked.

I would have been trying to convince myself it was just a 24-hour flu.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Looking out the window today serves as an effective expectorant for me.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Hunker down Victor sounds like your in for it.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

hi celeste - glad to hear you are feeling better - black and blue from coughing, you must have really been sick!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Everyone is home today - wife and kids!

Thomaston, CT

Wren--that's awful cold for you---hope the blackberries are OK---here is my 2yr old GD at her sister's b-day party---Anni is definitely the clown in the family--my son was very serious when he was that age!
