Thanks. Not much going on. Waiting for crocus and for the hellebores to start opening. Supposed to warm up a bit so maybe the next few days.

Forgot this one. Koto no ito - love how it's shaping out.

Very nice...how old is it Victor? Saw the fall colors..wonderful.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

hey that looks exactly like the winter interest picture from the site i ordered it from

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Planted it two years ago, David. It was a decent size when I got it but has grown nicely.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

great pic's Victor. If you ask me, Koto no ito is pretty no matter what time of year.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Shelly. I agree.

Van Engelen started carrying them year but they are pricey. I went for the yellow, n. bulbocodium, instead. Anyone get the white?

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

I just planted the yellow this past fall. I think the white ended up selling out.

Clinton, CT(Zone 6b)

Dyanes....perhaps the price will drop this year (althought "sold out" isn't a good indicator it will ).

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

I'm sharing just a few of the bunch that I took at Northwest garden Nursery two weeks ago. Not the best focus on most of these since your not allowed to step off of the pathways, so there's some contorting and bending to get these.

things are out of focus here. I love that setting with the mondo grass and hellebore. In case I didn't mention it earlier. This nursery specialized in hellebores.

Last one for tonight. I posted several others over on the hellebore thread in the PNwest forum, if you want to check them out.

nice .... looks like it was a nice stroll

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

It was! Unfortunately a little more hurried than I would've liked since I had to get on to work. But, it was a good day for it. I only went through about 1/3 of the gardens!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I can't wait to do that again

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

I really wished that I could've stepped over that little partition thing to get in closer to see some of them better. But, I for certain would've been caught! Who knows what the penalty who be :-p It would be dreadful if they told me that I couldn't come back!!!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

You can't wait to go to the nursery again? or on a stroll again?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Us bigger people stand out.
Your pics are treific.
Love the black Helle. w/yellow grass, very oriental in flavor.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

thanks Jo Ann! and I agree. Yep, we stand out! that's for certain. This weekend will be the last weekend that they are open for retail for the rest of the year and I'm sooooo hoping to get there again. It's supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow night which is not good for me in getting there, but if I get there...that usually means that i'd have far few customers to compete with!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

can't wait to stroll the flowers... doesn't matter where it is

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Your efforts will be rewarded.
My fingers are crossed for you.
Those black helles are wonderful. If only we could grow them here the way they grow on the northwest coast.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Hopefully soon! It looks as though some bulbs are beginning to come up for folks out your way! You can catch a flight out to northwest nursery!! none of my hellebores at home, that have been planted for more than two weeks, have opened up yet. One has been on the verge for about two weeks. i'm thinking tomorrow, just because the poor thing will get snowed on then.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Well, hopefully you'll be able to at least grow them Jo Ann! They had a few of the double Niger hellebores there. They looked really cute, but i just knew it would make it about 3 years and die. It will be a while before I ever get another one of those. But, there were so many others, they weren't even a temptation!!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Good nite!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

nite!

Morning

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Love that dark hellebore and yellow grass.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Me too. What is that yellow grass? Is it a type of hakonechloa?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Shelly nice pictures - i have reconsidered hellebores and ordered a few from a coop going on :)

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

nice pics and love the green houses in the back I want some of those

Thomaston, CT

Loved everything! The cardinal was so bright! I feed without shells because the feeder is over the wellhouse garden---I don't need noxious plants coming up---other than those I plant myself! Had scads of pine siskins---about 20-30 all at once, every day since New Year's--only have a few left, but the jays are sucking out the seed---have had only 1 pair of chicks, a few tits, a few cardinals---1 nuthatch. Haven't seen the red-bellied lately, but the downies are here every day.

I get everyday:
Chicks
Tits
Downeys
Golden Finch
Blue Jays
Morning Doves
Cardnials

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

redchic01, Love those pictures. I was so hoping to have mine really start to bloom this year, alas, the deer thought otherwise. Only one of 8 was not totally ravaged. But it is pretty sad too. I do have an actually identifiable iris Kathryn Hodgkin emerging today. Laying next to it is part of another destroyed hellebore. I will just have to enjoy your wonderful pictures. Patti
