Coming from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/946932/
Just a fun thread of the photos of "frosty stuff" in the garden. I hope that everyone from anywhere joins in!! I'm starting it off with one taken a couple of weeks ago.
The "Frosty Stuff" ....#3
I have to say my experience as an RN in my previous life proved beyond a reasonable doubt that men pass out from injections or blood draws occasionally - women, extremely extremely rare. Usually the ones that pass out are young and just have a fear of needles. Sorry guys - that's just the way it is!
Very grey and rainy here today and will be the same tomorrow. But no frost!
I'm glad that you've had the same experience Portland. I actually read statistics on that somewhere. It's not just what you or I have seen or noticed. It's documented! I'm happy for no frost here that last few days too. Although, they said that I might get snow tomorrow night. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen!!
I have been out of the loop for a while, have to many issues going on. And its so hard to keep up, so I just read. I guess I have become a Lurker. So Sad. Just no time anymore. I went to the day shift now or was till the last 3 days and had to close. Now I will be back to the days. I just got so lost in all the treads.
Sorry I copied from last tread. Tired need to go to bed, not thinking well.
Hugs

Night Mary. Beautiful pic!

Susan
It's still a pretty picture Tilly, no matter what thread it's on!
Susan….tell Zorro hello and welcome to the world. I don’t even pick out a lobster in a restaurant that has those tanks. Told a waitress once that I didn’t want to meet the critter I was having for dinner, I thought she’d never quit laughing. Maybe if it was big and ornery it wouldn't bother me.
I would never get in mom’s way.
Sorry I missed the chatter this morning, you all had fun! Sorry Bill, but as a rule men are terrible patients.
Nice picture Tills, love the color. This time of year I love any color. LOL
Unless he men are like my brothers and dad. It's pulling teeth to get them to acknowledge pain.
When my dad was having his admission workup for a quadruple bypass and valve replacement, the nurse went through the whole checklist of complaints. My dad responded negative to every one. Finally, she said, "Why are you having surgery if you aren't having chest pain?" And my dad replied that, "It isn't really pain so much as pressure."
He doesn't like to make a fuss - just quietly goes about his business.
Sally, Hopefully you were having fun where ever you were.
Katie, I actually agree with you, it just seems to be the needle issue. :-p I dated this guy for a couple of years that was 6'3" and 240 lb, physical trainer with only 4-5% Body fat. Didn't mind surgery, and knives, and you could drop a rock on him, and like your dad, he would say that it felt like "pressure". Try to draw blood from him and.... you guessed it...... down he would go! Every time. It took everything I had to not laugh while this was happening. Not really at him. Just at the site of this big guy and this tiny needle, and down he goes. It still makes me laugh.
What is it with needles? LOL
This reminds me: I remember in college when we'd have a blood drive. There would be these young, strapping football player types giving blood and these tiny little elderly women volunteering. When it came time for them to get up and have some juice to "recover", the little women would escort them. I would always worry for the little elderly gals - if that guy went, she was not going to do anything but break his fall and her hip!!
Shelly, aren't you done with your frost yet? It sounds like our friends in the NE are getting hit again with tons of snow. Hope everybody's safe and has found some heat.
I haven't had frost for maybe a week. Although, what I had for the few days before that was usually gone by about 7 am. I had snow for two nights last week, or maybe it was the week before that. I think it was two weeks ago.
Funny memory of the little ladies and the football players. Those little ladies knew how things really worked I guess :-p
When DH first came out of his coma after heart attack he was so cheerful it was scary, I knew he was getting better when he started complaining. LOL
No fun, had to get taxes done today. Yuck! But it's done now and out of the way. Except for writing the check.
We've been raining all day and it's 46 deg. right now, don't expect frost until maybe later in the week. Stopped raining just before dark and the frogs are singing their little hearts out.
Here's my chicks from last week. These girls are getting so big already, I'm going to have to transfer them from the trough to 2 seperate cages (side-by-side) for about 4 weeks till they're feathered enough to put in a 6'x6' pen inside the chicken pen (24'x12') till the older ones get used to them.
And as of either tomorrow or over the week-end I'll have 7 new laying hens. DH had his boss email me an ad for, free hens if you don't take-um then it's off with their heads! I can't let that happen, they're only 1½ or 2 so they're still excellent laying hens. He's giving them away cause he started feeding them a low protein diet and they stopped laying. DUH!!! The winter light has alot to do with it too. My Araucana hens that are the same age are starting to lay again, so I can't wait to get these new girls!!! I'll put them in the 6'x6' pen for a few days inside the chicken pen till they get acquainted with the residents.

I KNOW Cheryl! Do you think I'm feeding them too much!!! LOL!
Patricia, love your pics!
No one is silly enough to go out with me to take the picture ^_^
Willow if I were there.... I would've done that in a heartbeat! :-p But, I already knew that I was silly. So, I guess that fits. You did much better than me. I didn't sleep all that well, so I really slept in late and there's only a few patches of snow by the time I actually felt like going outside. Wasn't worth it. It's been lightly snowing, off and on, most of the day though. Great Hyacinth picture and I love the first one too! I bet that little fish that you saw on Tuesday is unhappy!
Is your snow going to melt today Susan?
We didn't get anymore and what we did have is all gone. That's the kind of snow I like.
Hi DIO, Aww that is a good picture of optimism and hope. Love that blue in the snow. I lived in Burien and West Seattle for 35 years. Welcome to PNW forum and hope you enjoy it. We have a great bunch of people here. Very knowledgable and just a little weird. ^_^
Hi mortswife,
As he looks out the window,
sun breaks south,
gray cold west
blue fluffy east and ..........
have to run to the back--
solid nasty north--
no precip now,
and the white stuff is disappearing nicely.
Howdy Willowwind,
I should fit in closer to the latter and less of the former.
I don't know much and I'm proud of it.
Sometimes luck is the only thing that keeps me going.
dirt.
Hey, DIrt. That is some blue in your pic. It is vibrant! Welcome.
Welcome, dirt. Glad you've joined us. We're a crazy group, as you'll see when you're looking around our other threads. Topics jump threads and threads contain MANY topics.
Welcome Dzone from one of the men in PNW forum. Glad to have a new voice! We are a casual group who enjoys our friendships we have here. Steve
Thankyou for the warm welcome,

I'm here to learn a few things even if it is somemore bad habits.
And I'll check out the other threads.

Welcome Dirt - I'm also a newbie gardener and am learning a lot from these folks. Just remember, when you hitch your wagon to that of a dreamer you're in for a wild ride. I don't know where I heard that, but like it.
