Here's my chicks from last week. These girls are getting so big already, I'm going to have to transfer them from the trough to 2 seperate cages (side-by-side) for about 4 weeks till they're feathered enough to put in a 6'x6' pen inside the chicken pen (24'x12') till the older ones get used to them.
And as of either tomorrow or over the week-end I'll have 7 new laying hens. DH had his boss email me an ad for, free hens if you don't take-um then it's off with their heads! I can't let that happen, they're only 1½ or 2 so they're still excellent laying hens. He's giving them away cause he started feeding them a low protein diet and they stopped laying. DUH!!! The winter light has alot to do with it too. My Araucana hens that are the same age are starting to lay again, so I can't wait to get these new girls!!! I'll put them in the 6'x6' pen for a few days inside the chicken pen till they get acquainted with the residents.
