Sweet Interruptions 107

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Bj, please take it easy. Take a Benadyrl or something so youdon't get sick! It may make you tired after after taking it, but sometimes if you keep moving you can get through the drowsiness. Be careful.

Cindy you are up early. You going to curves?
Thanks for the coffee.

Hey Deborah. Good morning to you too! What projects are you working on?

Have a good morning everyone.
Laura, don't wotk too hard at moving today! I know you will be glad when it is done!

Thanks for the coffee Cindy--really good! Just dropping by to say hello and wish all a really good day. BJ, I am adding my comments to the others--careful with those ant bites. Please don't overdo it--I know it needs to get done but you are more important right now.

Waving to all. Trisha, I know all of you, especially Laura will be so happy to have all the packing and moving behind you. How exciting getting into their very own place!!

Kathy, if you are lurking please check in. Hope you, Mike and the Hurricane are doing well. Your daughter also. The crud is horrible this year and you seem to have had more than your share.

Wake up Tink!! Fabric stores are calling you. LOL

I will not be around until Friday. Going to Gainesville for some festival work and taking time out for some time with my friends--long over do. Been down 2 days with the computer has really put me behind in my schedule of activities.

Behave everyone but do have fun and enjoy life--and the smell of Spring that is in the air.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Donna, I have to get some grocery shopping done, and laundry. Just regular house hold chores! YUCK!!!
Love the puppy towel. What is it for?
Marion, you have a great trip, and enjoy your friends.
Janice, hope you get your computer fixed soon.

MORNING!!!!!!

BJ-I am so mad at that young man that was supposed to help you-if he had been there, I don't think you would've been bitten so badly!! I am sending you some atlas gloves today!! They go up the wrists and will protect you....

Not sure what I will do today-maybe run a few errands....maybe not...

Auntie M-shame shame!!

My Georgia Peach-where have you been hiding??

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Lk the puppy towel cake is a sample of what I can do for a friend who is selling at a crafters market.> She is looking for things to get into.. I figure a towel for puppy, towel for owner, a few toys, new puppy frame.. Its a welcome puppy pack...lol Or keep th etowels for you and give puppy old ones. There is 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels..

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

a little pack of treats would be cute in there too-like training treats-they come in small packets...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

High school baseball has started, my boss's son plays and they have a game this weekend, I believe.

BJ that's true, with any type of bug bite if you get too much poison in your system you will have some sort of reaction, just depends upon person to person how much is too much.

What a cute cake!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Stace...I'm mad at him too... but what am I to do?

I did have gloves on, and the ants mostly just got the area above my wrists, and below my sleeves... only a few got me on the legs.. just a couple got down my gloves on my hands... and I got a really bad bite on my neck, don't know how that one got way up there.
I'm fine... really... I put some antibiotic ointment on the bites. The nausea is already gone... must have been something I ate... sneezing may have been all the pollens in the air... everyone down here is suffering allergies. I'm not sneezing now...
BUT... the chipper/shredder has a flat tire... so I have to air that up before I start.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hello,

Yep, I was up at 4:15, was here and no one to talk to so I did some crafts then headed to Curves ( I'm really liking it too) had a great workout, came home hit the hot tub, now I'm going to eat some cereal and start deep cleaning the living room. I did my bath and bed on Monday, it's so fresh looking if only it would stay that way :(

Will be in and out today TTYL ^_^

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Meant to say... cute towel cake, Donna... but I agree with Stacey... a few treats, maybe some small bottles of dog shampoo, and such as that would add to the theme.

Say, where's Kathy? Is she still sick?

Jaye? check in please...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone ^_^
Spring is not in the air here yet, Maid M. Suffering frost still. BTW, you should be getting your FQs by Friday.

Unravelling a bit from exhaustion today, BJ! The wake and funeral went well and Kenneth's sister gave a great eulogy. She told of the time when he was so happy leaving home for the first time, when he's 18... only to return a few days later, to rob their Mum's pantry, carrying not a 13 gallon bag out, but a 33 gallon one!!!

BJ, I agree with the others. Doctor the bites, and watch you don't get an infection. You could wait another day to tackle the compost and NO, a spring garden is NOT the most beautiful thing in the world if it costs you your health !!

Niece, I like your chosen fabrics. Will mail yours tomorrow.. and I'm sure you'd be surprised to see what he has chosen for you.

I bet you're happy that you won't be taxi-ing Laura that much since she's so close to the store, Trisha. She'd also find it a relief as she can just walk over anytime she needs to. Good luck on the move Laura.

Like the idea of a Puppy Towel gift. Nice job Donna! Bella will grow nicely into that pink t-shirt!! Lol!!! Steal a nap, I won't tell.

Cody, that expression on Mocha's face is more like she's constipating!!!! Wait till Synda uses it and put a funny caption!

Ditto here.. like mother like daughter. Both beautiful.. AND your DD, Debra is another Mrs. Arkansas.. and a great woman like you.
The plaque reads so true. It needs to also include.. "Laugh a lot.. timing is everything.. so learn when to shut up!" He he he!!!

Judy, what drama? Not nice of you to keep it all inside. Relieve yourself here... we won't judge, promise!

Waving to LK, Phyllis, Barb, Cindy, Crissy, Deborah, Audrey.. both Lisas.

Gonna check on Sis Kathy and see what's going on with her. Not her to keep quiet this long...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

BJ-the atlas fit like a 2nd skin-so nothin will be getting in them!! And maybe some epson salt baths for the bitten areas-Gmas always said it helps to take the hurt out:)

Howdy Jaye-so nice to hear your voice again!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Update, Sis is off to the doctor's.. the whole family's been sick, and that includes Mike. Seems like the cruds attack us all. So say a prayer for them, please.

Susan, are you doing better??

Flaming Kim, report in will ya?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yah Niece, I've been missing y'all bad. If it's not bad manners to run to the internet cafe and check on y'all I will :D

BTW, check your email soon ;)

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, did you tell Kel about the Quilt Fest? Let's see it is about 6 hours from your house to mine--maybe. I will drive on down to Trenton--Fun for all. Reenactments, antiques, food, craft shops and quilts galore and more---SHOPPING for quilting fabric!!! let me know when you will arrive so I can have dinner prepared.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

my email or dmail??

Raleigh, NC

Oh My! yesterday was fun! Pat was having a good day. first we had our faces done (de-hoar haired). Then we strolled down to where they had a stuffed afghan hound that looked just like my brindled Merlin in the window. So we went in - it was a bead store! I've never been in one before - how fabulous. If only I had places still where I could wear jewelry! but no... whenever I where jewelry in the garden, I end up burrying it ...

Next door was a cake supply store - loads of Wilton stuff, party favors and pans. If only I needed some pans, but I don't. But I called DD Bevin bragged - she says, "cool Mom, see if they have edible glitter." She was so excited when they did. She's the one into fancy cake making.

Went to Target for groceries. Roy drove us over to a really big container store. Found a tupperware style box with a hinged tight sealing lid just about the perfect size for two rows of pollen envelopes, or the leftover prescription bottles I sometimes use. Then to a Circuit City going out of business. I called DH asking if there was anything I should look for, and he recommended memory cards for my camera. Pat got one for hers, too, an 8 gig, for $20. Not bad. Came home, fixed spaghetti within Pat's diet restrictions, put enough in her freezer for a couple meals.

BJ - ants have venom, too, just not a lot. too many ants bite = more than enough to harm you. that's how they overpower much larger bugs and eat them. Prednisone and antihistimine.

Fairygirl - those fabrics are yummy, love the color combo. Which one is the border color?

Crissy - that sounds like a sinus infection - be careful or that fever will come back.

Cindy - oh how you are making me miss the Y - I'm going to gain 10 lbs here! all we do is eat, talk about eating, try to get Pat to eat, but mostly go out to eat. I keep trying to cook healthier things.

DH told me this morning how soccer practice went yesterday - that's my job, and I loved watching DD play. I miss home...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

TANTE JAYE-WHAT DID YOU AND UNCLE KEL DO!!!! Shame on you!! You know what you did and I feel bad:((((((

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

HEY BONNIE!!! There isn't a border on a rag quilt-it is hard to explain, but to give you an idea-here is the rag bag Auntie BJ sent me for my Bday

Thumbnail by Fairy1004
Raleigh, NC

oh - i don't know what a rag quilt is - know what a rag rug is, they make those with tobacco cord.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

the rag quilt will look like the bag only bigger:) The edging and striping will be the ruffled edges instead of material if that makes any sense.....

Coushatta, LA

Hello everyone!!!!

Jaye,glad you are back.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Love the Rag Bag! How is a rag quilt stitched so it doesn't fall apart? I've seen them before but can't think right now how it's done.

I feel better today and my voice is almost back! I've been hacking up all kinds of crud, and it's not green LOL! I have Advair I keep in stock for any bronchitis I get from anything basically, and that's a steroid, so just as long as it's lose and coming up and no fever I'm fine with that.

I've got to get back to Curves myself, after this crud goes away though!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Just a quick one before I leave...

Love the Dog Towel cake Donna...

Prayers for Kathy and all hope they feel better soon.....
Hope Cathy is doing well too....

BJ you be careful.....those ants can be really nasty.

Jaye, Glad you are back we always miss your cheery voice......what else have you guys been up to now.....

Waving to all..... MIL will be here any minute, then it is off to see Laura's new place, take some pics of her yard to start planning, run the Son in law out to pick up the truck (would make more sense for him to drive out, leave the car.......but it is his new baby and he worries about it....TTYL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, the rag quilt is just your choice of size squares, sewn thogther, then you snip the edges, wash and dry, and you have a beautiful quilt. So easy, and quick to make. Just sew at least 3 layers of material togther. SOme will put a low loft batting for the middle layer, sew an X on each square, then sew together. Sew easy!!!
Will continue prayers for Kathy and family. They have been sick for several weeks now! Jaye, you take it easy too. Thanks for letting us know about Kathy.
So many people getting the crud. Please take care.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yea knock on wood here. Haven't had anything but my Mom has been sick 2 or 3 times already not good for her age. Going back to doctor for her leg again. She's been bowling and the doctor told her 1 game a day. She's been bowling 3. I told her last night she's gonna keep it up until she has to have a total knee replacement. She has a torn maniscus (sp). Plus her left eye needs something done for it also.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, sorry to hear about your Moms knee. Hope you can get here to sit for and not bowl too much.
LK

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

That's not going to happen. She told the doctor "She IS bowling". We go to Carson City Mother's Day weekend for a tournament and we both are bowling. My bad hands and her bum knee we should win 1st place I think, LOL yea right!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Guess what !!! Sweating make Ant bites sting worse !!!
OUCH...

I remember now why it's not a good idea to sweat when you have bites.

I'm done... it's 80* out there !!!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

80 degrees - how wonderful! Sorry about those ant bites, BJ.

Stacey, loved your fabric. Have you started your rag quilt yet?

Poor Kathy and family. The whole house is sick? It's hard to get over something when everyone around has it, too.

Crissy, hope you are feeling better soon.

Donna, such a cute puppy towel cake! you are so multi-talented.

Bonnie, my iris from last year's co-op are coming up. If there are green leaves but the rhizome feels soft, should I throw it out?

Today is the 3rd day in a row I've been house cleaning. More than cleaning - doing some rearranging of bookshelves and things like that along the way. Hope to finish today because I'll be too busy tomorrow with DD's bridal portrait and quilt class on Friday. It sure feels good to get things back in order.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Crissy, take care please. I think I've exposed myself to the cruds again. When you're out in public for too long.. don't know what germs were in the air :(

Maid M.. we checked, and it will take 8 hours one way. Sadly, Kel can't leave this area longer than 12 hours. When his dad's mobile, look out!!!!!!!!!!! There'll be lots of travelling for us.

Sorry I missed your call Cody. You are just too sweet always worrying about me.

Bonnie.. how do you dehair your face? I know of this ancient technique used by Mid Easterners and Chinese that use regular thread to dehair their faces?

Welcome to the quilting world niece!! Not going to get books for you as you are very resourceful, so the important tools are a must!

BJ, perhaps your sweat is too salty :D

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Jaye, so good to see you posting. Not the crud again, man that sucks! You need more OJ you need to come to California or Texas where it's warmer.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I've had that done for my face! I had neighbor girls from Iran once, and one of them dit it for me! Stacey, I didn't know your quilt was gonna be a rag quilt! Those colors are perfect just the way they are!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I'm spring cleaning my living room. I told Rick he had to clean his Eagle collecting. Me and my big MOUTH!!! He went and took a shelf dowm out of a bedroom that we use for storage and put up in the living room for his Eagle collection. I haven't got to do my cleaning yet cuz he's still playing around with the other wall now. GEEZZZZEEEE!!!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Coushatta, LA

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)
