Sweet Interruptions 107

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Morning !!!

Donna, sounds like you're day is going to be a really busy one... but good that you sold those plants... I'm so happy for you.

I started sifting through the compost yesterday before going after Mike at Track practice... but I didn't do any more on it after we got home...
I'm about to get out there and get some more done... this is the hardest part for me, because I have to bend over so much... but, I take frequent breaks to rest my back, so it's not all that bad...
Helper didn't show up again this morning... so, I guess he doesn't want to earn money too bad. I did go get my son yesterday to help me for a few days... hey, he owes me money, so why not make him work it off.

Debra... take it easy today, girlfriend... you're sick.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
I'm off to crawl in the compost...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I thought the funeral was yesterday??

BJ-have fun in the bins-can you get someone to take pics while you are crawled in them all dirty;)

Debra-thanks:) I was nervous and anxious to get feedback from ya'll to make sure I made the right choices:)

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning--passing through again. New computer isn't working--not what was sold to me--maybe packaged wrong at factory not sure but I need to return the CPU and see what is happening. Kim's is touchy with this internet thing and I am having fits trying to get my info submitted for the program. Urrrgh!! Forget the Bailey's I need some workhorse stuff now!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Feeling a little better, not enough to get out, voice is gone, headache is among me, you all know.

I was going to say Debra that's how this nasty bug starts, watch out girl!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I don't want anyone to see me in the compost bin, Fairy Brain... silly girl... it's really nasty.
One thing I've learned today... so far... is to NOT let Don put anything else in the compost bin that he scoops out of the lake, ever again. SHEESH... I'm finding styrofoam chunks, ink pens, metal, and coke cans, not to mention all the plant life that floats up... then it takes root and grows in the compost...
I must not have kept the bin watered enough last year... I have 2 layers that are totally dry... wet and composted between them, above and below them... so, this is taking longer than it should because I have to stop and toss the dry stuff over the side. On the plus side... Don fixed one of our sprinkler heads so that it waters the bin everyday... so, I won't have that problem next year.
Oh, and not to mention all the grub worms that I'm finding in there... they seem to love the compost. I didn't spread Milky Spores around the compost area... but I bet I order some and do that now...

Ok, back to work... I'm about 1/3 the way through it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, sorry to hear your having computer problems! I know that can be so frustrating, especially when you have a dead line! Hope you get it fixed soon.
Morning Bj, Sorry to hear your helper has not shown up! Hope your son will help you get it done.
Stacey, you go and get thet lap quilt done. we can't wait to see it finished.
Janice, I love any of her work. She is a wonderful artist, and so insirational! Thanks for sharing.
Debra, glad to hear you got the shower done, but don't over do your self! You don't need to come down sick for the wedding.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

ALL TOGETHER NOW.... YAH HOOOEY !!!!!

I'm done !!! Got it all cleaned out, and the bed made for the next one to start... and I did it all by myself !!! NOW, I'll spend the rest of the week chipping and shredding all the leaves, branches, and pine needles and cones to rebuild it. I got miles and miles of piles and piles of tree litter all over the yard.
GAWD, I'm glad this only happens once a year.

The son that did come to help, decided he was done about noon today... started an argument with me so that I'd take him home... so, I did... then I called his brother and told him why. He said he'd have a Jesus come to meetin' session with him.
DANG, I wish I had kids that didn't take me for granted.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

YAH HOOOEY !!!!!

Oh Bj, so glad you got that done with. Wish you could have had your son there all day for his help.
Sounds like you will be spending the rest of the week in the hot tub, Or heating pads! I think we all have kids like that. They grow up, and get out on thier own, and only come home for handouts!

LK

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I have a very odd question.

Does anyone remember from old cartoons, like from the original Bugs Bunny days, a multi-colored pastel steam train engine with a huge pastel pink smoke stack shaped like a diamond?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

YEA HOOOEY!! You go BJ!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Is that anything like HOODIE-HOO?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Wanted to update you all on Mom. They started her on a liquid diet today as well as the hanging nutrition she's on. They told her she may get to go home on Thursday, but she hasn't walked yet and she still has the catheter. So keep praying...she really looks good now.

Miss you all!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the great news on your Mom! That is good news.
Give her hugs for us.

LK

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Good news, Joyce... I'm so glad she's doing better. Will keep up the prayers though.

Hoodie Hoo will do too... lol

NO LK... I'll be spending the rest of the week re building the compost with all the tree trash laying all over my yard... now in piles all over my yard.
Heck... I can't even mow the weeds till I get it all shredded and put in the bin.
Then, Saturday I'm spending the day in Palestine with Mike at a water park. Then Sunday I'm getting Mike to help me dig all the plants out of one of the front flower beds... then dig all the dirt out of that flower bed so I can order a load of dirt to replace it with some good dirt... something I should have done before I ever planted anything in there. Right now, it's nothing but clay and I can't get anything to do well in there.
And that's as far as I've planned right now... but I have a list of projects that need to get done soon... doesn't everybody?

That train engine doesn't sound familiar, Crissy.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you have a lot of work cut out for you, and who ever you can find to help out! Have fun at the water park.
Anyone heard from Kathy? She has been missing for awhile?

Coushatta, LA

Good night everyone!!!!!!!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Well we got quite a bit of the remaining packing dealt with...mainly getting Sages stuff sorted and packed while she was NOT around to help. They sign the lease at 10:30 in the morning so as soon as I get back from Curves we can pick up Keiths truck and start moving things!!! I will be so glad when this is all done!!! But probably not as much as Sean and Laura.

Hope all are home safe, doing well and getting some rest tonight.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

WAKEY!! WAKEY!!! Coffee is on!!! Everybody slepping in this morning?

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Morning sistahs. It's baseball season! Larry and I are traveling to all the games. If I'm amiss that's why.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Can't sleep in anymore, Cindy... got a kid to get up and off to school now... which is actually good for me... I'm adjusting to the day shift again.

Deborah... Baseball doesn't start for another month... end of March. Don's so excited about that, because he has to travel less while the Rangers are playing.

Yesterday, while I was cleaning out the compost bin, I was attacked by ants... bitten all over my hands and wrists, and this morning those bites sting soooo bad I can hardly stand to touch it. I'm sneezing, my stomach's upset, and I'm swolen, and every muscle in my body hurts.
The next couple days are going to be too beautiful here to NOT get my shredding done... so, I must over look the pains... and get it done.
I want to rebuild the compost bin, and mow the yard before it rains... then, everything should start looking like spring around here... isn't that the best thing in the world?

Another cuppa... then I need to get started.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Take it easy, BJ. sounds like you may have gotten an overdose of ant bites and your body reacted just like people do with bee stings. That can't be good so take some antihistamine and don't push yourself today.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Don told me the same thing Janice... but with noone to help me get this done... I have to at least make some effort. I won't push it, though... maybe just a few hours.
