why thank you.... I almost bought blue ones too... but Randy was there... LOL
Less than 30 days now!! Spring is around the corner!
I have three of those fancy geraniums in the summer in full sun they look amazing right now they only have the two colors since the sun is not bright enough
the are so pretty in full bloom with the foliage like that
Love those Iris's..boy the blue would of looked great beside them! LOL
Plant new I. reticulata (the blue) in the fall.
Good idea! hee hee he
the only irises that I plant now are rebloomers its so nice to see them again in september I planted six of them last fall hope they all bloom this spring lol Im dreaming since they are pretty small
oh Allison they look great... and no JB is a plus! nice structures...
great looking geranium.... oh I love geraniums... they are so expensive ... last year I got some that cost as much as a rose bush...
oh I am dreaming with that trip... love being there with Zuzu... and now I will get to see her garden in spring... so looking foward to that... I will send pictures...
yes they can be... I overwintered a few of mine and Michele's... can't wait to see how they turn out
Ooo, I see most of my iris's have come back. I bought one that was labeled as black a couple years ago, but it turned out to be a beautiful blazing orange! (ha, there's a grackle on my air conditioner outside making parakeet noises, very funny). Anyway, when I walked around outside yesterday it's coming back quite strong. A purple columbine is also coming back, I don't usually have good luck with those. Awsome pictures, that earth's shadow picture kind of tells it all, doesn't it!
Nice, Kathy! Here too. How is boojum doing?
Great news!!!
wow... Boo you beat me!
Glad it was benign and he's feeling better! Such a pretty boy!! Nice crocus too BTW. lol
Great news Kathy!!!!! what a relief!!!!
I got to garden today.... I cleaned a little, tied some of the climbing roses and cleaned out some pots... and pruned the roses inside the garage... I had no idea how much I have missed my garden... goodness gracious I felt so alive, so happy... I have so much cleaning to do... the ground still frozen but it was so great to be outside looking at the little red buds on the roses and clematis... oh they are going to be really big this year... I was soooo temped to prune my roses... so far only one rose looks dead... but still have to wait...
If anyone had ever told me that I was going to react like this regarding gardening I would say it's pushing... but after today I think gardening is more than just that for me. It's a question of a basic need... as much as eating! so amazing how foxgloves (generous gift from Alisson) are green... so cute... so I am trully happy... I am working the next 2 days 7am to 7pm so no gardening, but I hope to be able to do some more Wed & thu... so happy!
It is a basic need for me, too. :)
Yes Kassia, me too. And I've only been at it a few years. When I was falling asleep last night. what was I thinking about? The garden.
Opened the GH yesterday and got the stuff out so I can get in. It was 120° in there! Then went to my dealer and picked up a bail of soil and a bag of seed starter. Ordered 2 cases of Jiffy Pots. Got talking about putting up the 30x50 GH. Its going to cost a grand just to put on the plastic and the ground cover - ouch it might not happen right away.
Then went sideways to agway. Spent an hour looking threw seeds. 15 veggie packets and 10 fower packets. Last year other than RU's I only got 5 packets of seeds, so you can see I am more interested in Flowers! The ones that really got my eye was Purple Hollyhocks and Red Sunflowers.
I had a dream about JM's the other night!
I thought you channeled JM 's all the time Victor
Hee hee - no, I was walking through the garden looking at them.
My JM Spring Delight has definate buds on it.
I cant wait for leaf out, the first leaves are lime green with red tips, then they age to all green as the season progresses.
i was looking at my shirazz yesterday - not a 1/4" of die back after a tough winter - very happy

Great!
Just finished Liquid Fencing what I didnt get yeaterday after discovering tulip munched, sprayed and this AM checked befor I went to finish Hosta beds and I hope I'm wrong but I think The BAS- - - - S came back in spite of LF and ate more.
Tulip tips are so small its hard to see.
Mixed up a fresh batch of LF and did the whole property again.
what if the bugger is inside the fence lol so now it wont leave and has to eat inside
could be small rodens like chipmunks, mice, vole
I have lots of those out in the country
the deer got my tulips early one year... i sprayed and they still bloomed... hope the same for you!
Big chalice!
Yep. I cant bare to put plants in them.
the small one could be a bird bath
Definitely.
I believe it will just become that as I'm not diligent about emptying and cleaning after it rains or watering the garden.
They will spend the winter in the house just where you see them now and I'll clean the bowl out then.
DH moved my winged lion back a bit in the bed. It was a little close to the reticulata & I want the put the Candy Stick phlox which has been ordered at its base.
