I posted this in the Chat thread dealing w/ arbors and trellises but since it is a honeysuckle and it is fragrant, here it goes

as you can see from the previous pic above, the left honeysuckle is not doing so well but I'm hoping it will return and the two canopies unite. here is a closeup of canopy on the right vine.

Holy moly...now THAT'S a vine!! I've got about 3-5 types in my back yard along the fence but they're youngun's

Roberta - that is one huge brugmansia!! My one and only got some frost damage, and has not leafed out yet. I hope that it is still alive.

Vossner - any idea why the right honeysuckle is thriving, and the left one is not? I remember pulling out the honeysuckle center and getting that drop of honey from a neighbor's plant when I was a schoolkid walking to school.

don't really know. I think I actually overdid it with the whacking.

Sinking spring, PA(Zone 5b)

Voss- what a beautiful design with the honeysuckle! Reminds me of my mother's clematis canopying over her swing, but yours has the fragrance, too!

There are brugs everywhere you turn finally in my yard! The triple peach threw a double, so she gets to stay. I had a 'Jolie' open- average scent score, but very pretty pink. Speaking of pink, old faithful pink noid is as wide a plant as the skirt of her flowers this year!

f4f, the pink brug. Is that one plant???? wow! I have Jolie, a young one, and love it because of the strong pink color.

My double purple swirl datura, had a seedpod and today I planted the seeds right in the ground. Wonder if they'll germinate. PF says the plant is hardy 9a to 11, but mine got zapped during the unexpected March freeze and it doesn't look like it's waking up. you have dmail.

Chichester, NH(Zone 5b)

F4F beautiful brugs....it must smell like heaven.....I'll take that hammock swing (in the background) anyday!

Vossner love the honeysuckle...I also remember sucking the honey out as a kid. YUM.

Everythings just starting to wake up in my yard now. The Rangoon Creeper pushed out a few blooms (smells delicious), All my Grand Duke of Tuscany buds are now open and in full swing. And the gardenia's are all still going strong, I still can't get enough of "heaven scent"...it's so big.
