Which do you own or use??

Yup - back for now. Went to a local store and they said that Home Depot is in trouble here, I understood finaincally. Time will tell. I want the Garden Department whaaaaaaa

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

well you caaaan't have it

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

it seems that american comapnies have no problems in canada home depot their parking lot is always full

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

It's because we're lumberjacks. We luv lumber. Rona and Home Depot are always crammed with guys drooling over boards.

Home Improvements are essential right now with the economy all over the world. Plants up in this area right now are not a topic - unless you do it in your own home.

Bill you cant have the garden center at HD either! Only if I get the job and you come and up and buy stuff :-) I have put apps into HD, Wallworld next will be Lowes as it is coming in (being built as I type). Also a local company is putting up a brand new Nusery. They have been clearing the land for about 2 months and raped it of all the trees and brush. They are going to do the whole shamile, bark, plants and GH's, you name it. I will be there to get a job.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

well I see more women doing it these days than men maybe that is why they do so well here hahahhahah I just bought a sheet of plywood to make some bird houses over the next two months, have to be ready when they come hahahah

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

And did you take 2 hours to pick out the perfect sheet of plywood? Because that's how it's done according to my DH and the other board droolers. Cool! Birdhouses. Pics please when they're done.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

sherri - i am disappointed - "you caaaaaaaan't have it" classic lyric from the b52's - no one noticed.

good luck with the job hunt - personally i would be afraid a job at a nursery would cost me money.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too.

South Hamilton, MA

But you would get a discount.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

actually most garden centers garbage 15 per cent or more of their plants for lack of care if you worked there you could take home all the plants that look dead and we gardeners know that perennials do not die from lack of care they go dormand

when I lived in toronto I would do the rounds in july and august usually on monday and tuesday when they garbage all the plants they feel will not sell since they are damaged so I would ask if I could take them I would box them and take them home has my garden was filled with free bees

last summer went to white house perennials and got hostas for a dollar each since the tags had gotten lost and she had so many that she wanted to clear the area for new plants I took 23 of them of her hands and cleared the area for her she was so happy she gave me two free DL that had tags of over twenty dollars so I was thrilled asked if I could have the same deal this summer

mona

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Great score mona!!!!!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

i use facebook to keep track of my son since we are as each others friend I can see his conversation so I always know what he is up to

if you are a parent and your teenager is using one of these site I would insist that you are connected so you can see what they are up to

its a way of sharing pictures with family and friends

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Good point Mona! No substitute for paremtal supervision.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

Very true Mona. She should feel a lot more remorse than you. It's part of growing up.

Good luck with your touch Tommy. Let us know if you like it. Are the Nanos the ones that cannot play your songs randomly? That is a big drawback to me.

Poughkeepsie, NY(Zone 6a)

Dave,
I don't think this one will do them randomly.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Have fun, Tom! I like the random play feature too.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Wow, see this is why I like the Northeast group. This is fun.

I'm going to break this down into personal and work usage. And by work, I actually mean that it is something that we are supposed to use for the job.

You're supposed to use satellite radio, hi-def radio and an mp3 player for your job?! I want that job.

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

The sattelite radio is probably not what most are thinking of radio! lol. But, it is truly satellite radio. Some of our communication radios on fire fighting vehicles are satellite, the hi-def radio bands are for just a very few specialized hand held radios (i'm only special enough to barrow one on occassion), and the Mp3 players.... well they are to keep the teenagers from driving me nuts when we have projects like building rock retaining walls, in full sun, in August. lol

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

probably doesn't sound quite so posh now does it? :-p

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ahh - I get it!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

I figured that you would. However, if we know the right frequencies, we can tune into some excellent music stations on those radios!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Hmm, I just tune into my local radio station because they play the best music..Not the latest greatest BS..just good tunes..NPR is for the news

For you radio satilite lovers. On the 4 a.m. news Sirrus XM is in trouble, they are getting help but might go bankrupt and out of business.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

grumble

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Bankruptcy does not mean necessarily out of business. I saw that yesterday.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

its so sad the economy

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

A Howard Stern bailout?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

He can probably afford to buy them outright.

Poughkeepsie, NY(Zone 6a)

Howard hasn't been funny in MANY years.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I really never thought he was funny - just coarse and gross.

Like Dennis Miller - Poof

Poughkeepsie, NY(Zone 6a)

At least Dennis is still funny.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah, Howard was typically just nasty

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

yes he was/is very crude - although i can still remember an episode on tv where he had a kid with flaming red hair who claimed he could blow smoke out his nose - this kid tried and tried with his face turning redder than his flaming mullet.
after 15 minutes the kid ended up getting sick right there - with stern blasting him for making a mess of the set - yes it was gross - and i admit to gasping for air due to lack of oxygen becasue i was laughing so hard.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Never liked him or his brand of 'humor'. Not much talent in my humble.

Atkinson, NH(Zone 5a)

HI: I noticed that a lot of you are saying that you do not Blog. The question is are you a blogger or a blog follower ?? If you are posting and replying on the Northeast Forum you are blogging. If you are just following and reading the post you are a blog follower. So I guess those who said blog "NO" you are really a blogger of some type. Those of you who have Blogs of your own should show them in your "wants you to know" section on Dave's Garden.
