Which do you own or use??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Tony Bennett was from my neighborhood. Always getting high and getting arrested.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Dave - was Peter Green with Fleetwood Mac at that time? Their style changed dramatically when he left - they went from blues/rock to pop.

I lived near San Francisco during the 60's, and moved there early 70's. It was a very interesting music scene at that time: concerts every weekend. Makes me tired thinking about it!

Thomaston, CT

No one famous from my neck of the woods, except a few soap stars--& oh yes, Paul Newman used to come into our town's pizza place occasionally when racing at Lime Rock. Dave47---I'm sure the girls will do well as a #1 seed---not too sure of the guys! And I bought my binocs at a bird store in Clinton (or Madison)---get the two towns confused!

North Augusta, ON

When I was in High School we were forced to see Howie Mandel in the auditorium...I always slid out a side door and slunk home...still hate him to this day!!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

When I saw Fleetwood Mac (late 70's), Lindsey Buckingham completely stole the show from Stevie.

I was in total shock. Never expected that. It was a great show.

South Hamilton, MA

OK band people. I grew up with radio, phonograph & no amplifiers. PS--my ears work.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Iris, lol mine work too never listen to that noise that is called music

I got comcast last year. Signed a one year contract for phone, TV and computer. Its been a year..........Well guess what...............MY BILL WENT UP 40 BUCKS!

Good grief - I dont know what to do. I am looking into magicjack.com right now for long distance phone. New cable co. up here Fairpoint my sister gets phone (no long distance) and computer for 46.00.

Comcast is going to take a hike!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

How terrible, I have comcast serving computer and TV but do not us it as server since I have been using MSN since the beginning, it is free. Local phone is vorizen and long distance is ATT, have too many overseas calls. I know I have to make out seperate checks but I don't care.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Maria, how is MSN free?

We have to have comcast cable (cheapest pack) to be able to see local channels, which is all we ever watch if at all.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

On the TODAY show this morning, one of the guests said that one way to save money is to negotiate with your cable company and ask for the packages for new customers. They don't want to lose customers, so probably would be willing. Hey, it's worth a shot.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

definitely Sherrie. When comcast was trying to sell me; they told me to call before the year was up and they would continue the dicount. Give them a call & try.
Robin, if it was a place that had real choices in binoculars, you bought them in Madison from my friend Jerry (the harmonica player). I understand that the Uconn women are dominant and the men aren't. It doesn't temper my rooting. I prefer to see the glass as 90% full than 10% empty. I remember the bad old days when being a contender at all, was a pipe dream.
Katye, what a wonderful time & place to grow up. I think Peter Green was in the band when I saw it. They were unknown when I saw them.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

carriw, I still have to pay comcast, it is the server but I do not use it, prefer MSN

Last night on the news they had what is called PROGRAMABLE MUTATION MATTER. It is being invented by Intel.

It was not a computer simulation! They had a car about a foot long. A hand would grab the cars roof and pull it up and the roof got higher. The rear of the car they would grab and pull it out on both sides and the car would get wider in the rear. Headlights - take a finger and pull it and the headlight would get wider. Touched the body of the car and it changed colors from blue to red.

This was not a cartoon or animated. I could not believe my eyes and I cant find it on the internet. Still cant get over it!

Thomaston, CT

Jan & David you are right about Comcast---my DIL is a go-getter---when the rates went up she told them she was switching & they gave her the old rates---she is the one who switched me to the Triple Play, so hopefully she'll be here when the rates go up! Dave, I also remember when Uconn men were not contenders back in the day of Dom Perno---I swear--he used to fall asleep on the bench!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Oh, so you go back a bit too! I'm watching the women. God Rutgers is tough!

Thomaston, CT

That game was a squeaker---could have gone either way at the RAC--hope if they meet again, Uconn's home court advantage will out!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I am hating the new comcast internet mail setup - smartzone! For dummies, or I'm a dummy, or something along those lines . . . .

Dont use it.

North Augusta, ON

I have e-mail accounts at both Yahoo and Sympatico. I hate them both so I got Incredimail, which is super easy to use and it automatically fetches my mail, so I never have to use Yahoo or Sympatico...just easy Incredimail.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

I am a HUGE fan of Gmail. I probably get 1 spam email a month using Gmail. And it has a huge amount of storage for free and documents! I keep my checkbook register in documents and I can always enter any ATM withdrawl I have made without being at home.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I use Gmail as an email backup/archive. I would not trust any sensitive info with Google. They're notorious for blowing off privacy concerns.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I just keep wrestling with comcast - I mean they ARE my ISP and I AM paying them to provide me with email! Lee Anne, what is Incredimail?

North Augusta, ON

It's an e-mail program. It imports all of my e-mail from different places. It is free. Kind of like one-stop e-mail.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Website, please?

North Augusta, ON

http://www.incredimail.com/english/home.aspx

If you do decide to download it, do a selective one, then uncheck the boxes that aren't the program itself. Know what I mean?

You still have to have a server with an incoming and outgoing email server to use incredimail. You know an ISP number.

I have had Incredimail for 8 year. You program it to take over Outlook Express or what ever your server gives you and the program you want to use. If you dont want email coming into your computer then you can go Where Ever, gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc. You know the free stuff.

Incredimail you pay for it once and only once and you get lifetime, background letters, animations, ecard - etc. Reguardless you still have to have connection to your server into your computer that you sit at. Not a free server.

North Augusta, ON

Thank you!! I suck at explaining technical stuff.

Trust me - I am not the best!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I too like gmail... and the google calendar.... it's nice Michele & I can see each others to see what trip is next

:)

Just got off the phone with comcast. I said " husband said to get the bill cut back or hes going to get rid of you". Well the bill is only going up 3 dollars and change. Still have cable, phone and internet and nothing has changed.... Get to keep it for a year :-)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

So if you didn't call it would still be $3 cheaper?

I got the bill for 163.38. I gave them the option to lower it or we were leaving. I paid 127.26

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

You go girlfriend!!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

In eleven months, call them again. They even tell you to do that.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I wonder if it works if you only have phone and internet.

Call them and give them a sob story. See what kind of package they can get you in. I said DH got laid off and if they didnt get it lowered we were leaving. They will definetly try to work with you......

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

When I still had cable and the dish was taking lots of business away from them, I called and gave them the choice - lower it or I switch. I also added that friends were 'laughing at me' for staying with cable! It worked.
