Which do you own or use??
hee hee....
Do we weed by rote?
Rote-o-tiller?
hand tiller with kneeler support
Learned lots of things by rote---those are the things I still remember! Except the poems in the principal's office after school---I was a naughty student---my punishment---in the classroom most of my life!
You're right - a lot of those things last the longest. But maybe it's because we learned them at an earlier age, when our brains were younger?
Wow! Are we pretty scattered today??
Game was good Victor. Unusually close for the women. They only won by 10. Went with a former Uconn roommate.
You're scattered!
I'm partly scattered with a chance of showers.
Hi Carrie!
Bad game coming up for the team tonight!
if you made an account on the RD website... you can log in and see what ship date you picked
Hi David! I'm quite scattered with little chance of anything!
wow I thought I posted that on the RD co-op thread... what's that about????
sorry kids
As I have said before after 44 years of working technology I have NO interest in anything new I use a cell phone very sparingly,a GPS also very rarely ,we have broadband and hi def tv with comcast. The rest of the family is more with the day than I
What did you do in tech, Peter?
Victor I have been a tech for 44yrs at AT&T and still at it when you have a second family retirement is out of reach.
I can understand that.
My dad worked for 44 yrs. at Wisconsin Bell before he retired in cental office. that tells you how long ago it was.
Wood-Splitter - been out there since 11 am with no break. oh except I feel a split in my back.... I should of took a pic. One log was - guessing 44 inches to cut, not long. 2 men and a tractor was having a hard time handling it. Myself - just the lever operator. I will help manuvering to set it into place but that one had me a tad over by the lever and not by the log. One guy went down on his keister and the log split and almost went on his leg. The other guy and myself had hold of the split part. If it went on his leg it would of been broken. If it went on his boot he would be ok as steel toe boots are a safety must.
I wrote A BOOK! eeck
still do all mine the old fashion way - good thing it missed him!
Robin, Good game tonight! Go Huskies!
Go Celtics at 10:30--going to be very tired tomorrow.
They're out of their minds if they take Marbury.
Probably, but I can't imagine KG letting him get away with things. With injuries, they need the bodies.
Which do I own or use?
cell phone - own, use rarely (maybe 30 mins a month)
texting - don't do
instant message - can't stand it

MySpace - Nope
Twitter - don't even know what it is
GPS - No. I read paper maps.

I own a television, but don't have cable TV.
I use Netflix.

Yes, hi-def radio is supposed to be very good, digital sound. It also offers multiple channels for the same frequency. For example, for CBS there is one channel for the oldies station, one of the AM news station and another 'reserve' one, which they used during Christmas to play the oldies while they played Christmas music on the regular one.
Seems everyone uses Facebook to find people.
facebook has been nice... I talked to people I haven't seen since grade school... kind of nice to chat with some of these people... we all been posting our photos from back then ... some are really funny
There are a million options for earplugs that are more comfortable.
I don't use earphones as I already have tinitus, which grows louder every year.
I have 4 pitches in the right ear and 2 in the left.
I am always cautioning people not to turn up the volume.
Being a musician, I have had mucho exposure to loud decibels. Not to mention all those concerts in the 70's, 80's, 90's ......
I know that story Willie... not sure how badly my hearing was damaged... I just know it is
I have to have a fan running to get to sleep at night (or the radio on low) just to mask the pitches.
Sounds kind of like the high pitched hum of florescent lights, only two octaves higher.
When I worked a s a toll collector, it would bother me when a vehicle approached that you could feel the sound and the driver lowered the window and there would be a child inside. I would get all steamed up cuz that child had no choice of being in the car. If they want to ruin their own ears, then fine, but....
cell - infrequently
facebook - yes, but am selective in what I write - usually it's a message only to the recipient. I have a reunion coming up this summer, and it has been fun reconnecting.
broadband - comcast only cuz Fios isn't in our area yet
satellite radio - in our car. It was there when we bought it.
blog - I follow my niece's
I can't wait for FiOS to get here, too .... I am NO fan of the monopoly Time Warner has on cable. Crap service, and over $100.00 / month .... what's wrong with this picture??!!??
(pun intended)
Lots of hearing impaired people in the future.
I can certainly understand how it drove Beethoven mad.
oh Willie that would make me nuts... after a Metallica concert I went to my ears were ringing for 3 days.. I understand why you need the background noise to cover it... I couldn't sleep at all
smartened up after that and wore ear plugs when I went to see Ozzy & Korn... and glad I did
Only good thing about that (and I am stretching here to make lemonade) is that I now have "perfect relative pitch"
Which means, that I can listen to the ringing in my ear and then interval to any pitch.
Perfect pitch means you can hear it and know exactly which pitch it is, without thinking. Like seeing a color, or a person's face.
Too little, too late, but now I always have cotton with me, just in case I need to plug my ears.
Small consolation. I'll take my hearing over that.
Yes ..... PLEASE folks ..... learn vicariously through my mistake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
