Got a new tv the other day. Sony Bravia lcd hd. The picture quality is absolutely stunning.
Which do you own or use??
i'm going down now to watch mine - sony is a nice safe choice - we have a vizio for the bedroom and the pic is not as nice as the sony down stairs
Is it wide screen Victor? I'm concerned about SSES Syndrome.
40 inch. That's the max that will fit in my entertainment center and it's plenty big enough.
Don't sit too close Victor. We're not sure of the long term effects of stretched sideways eyeball syndrome yet.
I like chameleons.
Victor hanging in the future..... http://www.chameleonsonly.com/Pictures/Glorfindel's%20Son%20-%205%20mo.%20old%20in%20our%20colony.JPG

The link didn't work, dnut.
Fixed it tee hee.
Hate to see a blue chameleon.
reminds me of that cheech and chong movie when stacy keach turned into one while smoking
Being a chameleon would turn me blue.
I got a 40 inch Bravia about a month or two ago also. I'm amazed at the picture even without hd.
Cell phone? I don't even have a phone without a cord yet.
In fact, the only thing I have on the list is broadband -- DSL Internet.
I'm such a dinosaur that I still have hundreds and hundreds of vinyl records, and I did give in and buy a lot of CDs when they came out, but that's where I draw the line. I will not reproduce my collection with DVDs, especially now that they're also likely to be obsolete soon.
I have old 13-inch TV sets hooked up to VCRs, one of which is a Beta.
I don't have a car either.
wow beta!
Zuzu, We can't accuse you of being a trend setter! How old are you beta videos?
I bought my first Beta in 1978 and most of the tapes date back to the first few years. They started phasing out the Beta and new tapes grew increasingly hard to find.
I was a trend setter back then. Hardly anyone had a VCR in those days. The Beta cost twice as much as the VHS machines then, but the picture quality was unparalleled. I still use Beta to tape things when quality matters.
The introduction of the VCR made a huge change in my life, comparable to a revolution. It changed my lifestyle and my whole view of life in a certain sense. When I was young, all of my wildest dreams of wealth and success always included a screening room where I could watch movies in my own home. Suddenly, that was possible without wealth or success. It was revolutionary.
Wow - a betamax! Yes, 78 was very early. Must be huge. DVR is a quantum leap beyond vcr's.
Wow, so you are watching 30 year old tapes on Beta. Amazing that they are hanging in so well. Betamax was the superior product. They hung on to their exclusivity, much like Apple had done, to where they hurt themselves.
Dahlia, love the color on that blue chameleon!
Some of those 30 yr. old movies are better than what is being produced today! Good luck with the new tv, Victor---I have a Phillips--really love it. Although UCONN didn't look too crisp against USF today---but that was no fault of the tv!
True Robin. (about Uconn) I'm not sure if they've recovered from loosing Dyson yet.
I go see the women play Notre Dame tomorrow.
I saw a good part of the game today. They were not in top form.
Facing a better foe tomorrow---hope someone steps up to the plate!
They have nothing but tough games left.Let's hope they rebound
How was the game, Dave?

The square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.
Not during leap years.
I knew there was a catch no one warned me about!!!

Maybe there IS something to rote, afterall!!
LOL... my damage is from car fumes for years
My damage is from Plastics factories, Febreeze factories, welding factories...chrome plating factories...
Rote: avoids understanding of a subject and instead focuses on regurgitation
