Mine just says "loading"...
Which do you own or use??
It's son of Hal. He's always saying things like 'Dahlia, although you took thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I can see your lips move" and "Just what do you think you're doing, Dahlia?" :O :O
Thanks, all! It really does sound much better coming directly from my keyboard, instead of through GarageBand
Try this one
It is in Windows Wav Format

The setting is of Orlando Gibbons' Anthem Hosanna to the Son of David, here for two choirs (16 voices, in parts)
Well the second one opened but had no sound. Which is really a bummer on a sound file.
Willie, Keyboards your main instrument?
My friend's band is B Willie Smith. Your name always reminds me of them.
Great stuff! Jerry can slam it out!

yes, Dave, mainly keyboard and vox
Not sure why there was no sound (though the first measure is tacet) I tried it on my PC and sure enough only the .mov file (first link) played for me.
Maybe it needs to be saved to computer before playing? I am not so good around windows.
Maybe this one will work?

There we go . . . very nice, Willie. I like the way Gibbons (not as much in your example, but in the madrigals for instance) will sometimes land on an amazing smashing, crashing dissonance and kind of pretend not to notice. You do a very nice job with the texture of the different voices rising and falling. How did you attach that file?? Maybe I'll do that someday.
Thanks, Carrie! That is VERY kind of you to notice the dynamic shifts in each voice. I am not so good with making the voicing work, usually ....
Each of the 8 (sometimes 16) voices, when they enter with the main theme, start out strong and diminuendo before the next voice enters with the main theme. And if you split the choirs to opposite ends of the hall, you can really hear it bounce around.
I am a BIG fan of madrigalism in madrigals .... and frottolas .... and barzellettas, etc.
I simply have the files uploaded to my web space, and provide an URL for access.
I am going to get my stereo re-attached to my computer so I can record it directly from my synth to the computer. My playing here sounds like back when I was a freshman in college. ^_^
The computer's sequencer piano does not have the same attack and decay envelopes, so it messed up all my phrasing. Grrrrrrrrr.
Here is actual voices on the parts

Nope, can't get that one. But your intentions on the other one are quite clear (and lovely).
My son & DIL insisted I didn't need speakers for my computer---thanks, guys!
You mean SINGING voices? Is there another website for people like us? (Carrie's Theory 302 Theory lab, no-ooo-ooooooooo-ooooooooooooooo--ooooooooooooooo)
As long as I don't have to identify when the oboe plays the recapitulation of the main theme in retrograde inversion at the fifth, I'll do OK.
Yes, Carrie, singing voices.

Willie, Your windows version played for me today and I also was able to hear the voices clip. Excellent! God, I wish I had musical talent.
I was very surprised when I opened the link to find my friend Jerry playing harp. How do you know of him & how did you guess the member of the band that was my friend?? He really can play harp.
Thanks, Dave!! and I am glad some of those links finally worked for you!
I am very much a supporter of "local" music scenes where the REAL music is made .... not that music industry, producer-driven cr@p they try to shove down everyone's throat on radio and in the record stores.
Local talent is, more often than not, really top notch musicians.
So, when you mentioned B Willie, I had to google, which lead to a link over at YouTube, and there you have it.
Jerry playing was the first link! I am a huge fan of the blues. My favorite genre.
I am sorta bummed .... just found out my friends band is breaking up next month... we have been watching them play forever... they are a party type cover band... such a shame ... we always had a great time watching them
:(
I know that sadness .... all too well.
first thing Randy's mom Michele said... well we HAVE to find another band that I can hear you sing with
she is really bummed
It's a hard-knock life, for sure!
she is too funny... she really only goes to see the band because she likes the way I sing... not to bring up baggage but she is like the supporting parent I never had
That is nice. Is she your MIL?
Willie, that is too strange. You found not only the band but my friend's solo. He is also their drummer. Back in the day they toured from Maine to Texas and opened for some big names. one or two of the guys are still making a living as studio musicians. But they've been reuniting a couple times a year at Toad"s Place (pretty well known New Haven nightclub). So twice a year Toad's fills up with a 50 something crowd. Great fun.
David, I guess Randy's mom is "Honey-in-law" to Allison?
When did they do their tours, Dave? I used to live in Houston and went to Austin for concerts, etc. all the time. I am so glad now for the internet, as these things are not only preserved, but discoverable!
well not officially MIL... Honey in law is right Carrie... we are living in sin
:)
Not as bad as living in Jersey!
That is snewark
not nice... it's not stinky where I live
Jersey has some great birding!
And great NE forum members!
Way to finagle your way out of that one, Victor. :-)
^_^ Of course I was only playing.
I'm out of smog range where I live.
sure sure... pick on the minority
Willie, I would say B willie Smith toured late 70s & 80's.
Jerry now owns a store for birders. (He is a pretty awesome birder Robin.)
Hey Robin. looks like both teams will be number #1 again.
I may have seen them, then, somewhere around Houston, Dave, as I was living there in the early 80's.
There were a TON of great bands that would play at a place a block away from where I lived called Anderson's Fair (Fare?). One of my favorite headliners was Dr. Rockit and the Sisters of Mercy. Also saw Todd Rundgren there ... "I don't wanna work ... I just want to bang on the drums all day!!"
Oh, do I have a ton of tales from THAT neighborhood in DownTown Houston! (Well, what I can remember, anyway)
Maybe I would have attended more dances in high school if Aerosmith had headlined them!
Our current claim to fame is the Goo Goo Dolls.
That is amazing Sherrie! Did you realize then that they would be so big?
I once went to a Malo concert (1 hit wonder, featuring Carlos Santana's cousin) and was really disappointed that some unknown band was there in their place. It was Fleetwood Mac.
The biggest star from these parts is Michael Bolton. He was Michael Bolotin and much more of a rocker when I saw him at a local club New Year's Eve party. I liked him better with the extra "o".
