Today's Weather in Your Garden - 39

It was hackable. 49 degrees. Opened doors and kicked up the fireplace. Swept the front porch, rug and all. Thermo said 60! It felt warmer. Sun went in and schickenlady vacated outside enjoyment - hummmm

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yes, actually went outside played with the pup and put my some of my Christmas gifts out there...a net finch feeder and a copper birdbath.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Thomaston, CT

It was a balmy 57---walked across the dam twice--met all the regulars who haven't been walking all winter! Opened up the windows, hung out clothes---don't want to hear the word s--w again this year!

Rising moon about 1/2 hour ago.

You always get great pics of the moon, Victor.

Felt like spring here today. Temps in the upper 50's, warmer than predicted. Too bad I had to work. I would have enjoyed getting some more WSing done. Will have to wait for Saturday to get stuff done. Current temp is 43, and we're expecting rain tonight. My car will finally get washed.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

really nice Victor... some day I will get good with those shots too

South Hamilton, MA

Up to 60 here--rain predicted for tomorrow.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

46* now
It did reach 60,yesterday,my outdoor therm. fell off the window twice so it's history.
The sun came out long enough for the crocus sprout pics then it rained all day.
Due for wind and temp drops back into seasonal norms of 20's and 30's.
Hope we have seen the last of below 0's

Supposed to stay above 32 for a week! I hope it kicks some of the snow.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

windy windy windy we hit our high of 51 now.... looks like it's dropping off a bit this afternoon

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Raining for my morning walk, but only have plow piles and a few corners of snow left. Windy.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Windy, Windy, Windy ..... (déjà vû)

We've already lost power for a little bit of time this morning (1/2 hour), but it came right back on .... I hope it stays on. The winds should be diminishing over the morning, but the mulberry branches are being whipped into the greenhouse. Good thing I trimmed out all those heavy branches this past fall.

We only got up to 54.1ºF yesterday.

46 and windy. Thanks. The main thing with moon shots is to decrease the exposure (EV). Otherwise you just get a bright blur.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

YESSSS WINDY and today the gallery owner comes to take the big helleborus painting to her gallery( it wont fit in my CRV)
Paintings are like sails when they are carried. She will probably ding the frame. Really frustrating to work so big, I think it will be my last.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

hope all goes well GE

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I know all about trying to move large, flat things in the wind!! I have come to not like the wind so much.

Paint small, JoAnn, and I will scan it and blow it up huge for ya!

I have been wanting to do something for my garage door ..... Maybe one of those stellar NASA Hubble photos.

Yeah and some lame brain would think they are in outta space and drive threw your garage door !

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good luck!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Good point, Sherrie!! Maybe I had better consider a Van Gogh

Starry Night?

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Ooooo .... I like that one!

Might that be too cliché? Maybe something more gardeny ..... ??

Come into my free garden tour - STEP IN HERE. BAM

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Something oddball, like myself, perhaps??
An aquarium scene? or a row of convenient store beer coolers?

A big group of Piranahs!
That will keep people away :-)

nice!!!

Brattleboro, VT(Zone 5a)

48 degrees F. and overcast. After an ice storm in mid-Dec that brought devastation and prolonged power outages to a wide region, followed by snow, cold, more snow and more cold in Jan, it's a welcome change. Too bad it did not wait until next week, however. There is a ski jumping tournament here this weekend, so I hope the warm weather will not pose a problem. The jumpers include five young women (the oldest is 20), one each from VT, MN, WI and two from NY. Ski jumping is the only Olympic sport at which women are not allowed to compete, but there are efforts to change that. You go, girls!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Marcha, I will be in Williamsville this weekend. I hope to get to the ski jumping. It is such a great local event. Pretty dumb about the Olympics. I heard a great piece about that omission on NPR recently. A women on January 5, 2008, at Whistler set the overall normal hill record beating all the men. DUH? Go to "Let Women Ski Jump in 2010" if you are interested in signing a petition. It is the old like that stupid old "Men's only Marathon Rules" and mentality that plagued us until1984.

We are suppose to get a great deal of wind today, so far not so much. Mild here too. 42 degrees with winds to 25mph so far. Patti

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It is soooooo windy!!!! Feels like a hurricane with no rain. 54

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

it needs to stop warming up so i can get out on the ice and cut up the trees that fell during the ice storm

Thomaston, CT

I agree---the wind is really wailing right now, but it's 48, & not snowing, so I'll be content---unless the power goes! We had a ski-jumping comp in Salisbury, CT last weekend---the Lebanon, NH jumpers took most of the prizes---my DH was happy,W. Leb was where he was raised.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Hopefully this will be my one and only wind casuality....
Wind lifted the glass table top right off the table with my pot(ok my fault I didn't put the pot away) CRASH

Saylorsburg, PA

I love the 40 - 50 Temps... but not with the 50 MPH winds! Wow it is really blowing out there, so far no damage (knock on wood) other then my archery target getting ripped off its supports

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Picking up a tad here. To 35mph so far and up to 45 degrees but has clouded up. Patti

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh and I had surrounded my little crape myrtle with the nursery pot so they rabbits and squirrels wouldn't bother with it...ripped it right out of the ground....who the heck knows where it is?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh Jen, thats awful! So sorry you lost your Crepe.
