Its official, I would have to get better to die.
Went to the nice Pain Management Doctor Tuesday, and he had me come back the next morning for the 1st of 3 treatments.

I had 5 shots: 3 to numb (each one deeper and deeper to my spine-those were fine, didn't hurt at all. He said I had a high tolerance for pain), then came the dye shot (the mean Dr said I might feel it in my left leg. Holy Crap! My whole left leg came up off that table and went to hell and back!!), then came the Epidural Steroid shot (Evil Dr said it would burn for a few seconds), (Double Holy Crap!! For about 10 to 15 seconds I thought he had severed my leg, and I was seriously considering making "The Dr From Hell" a soprano), but then the burning stopped. It will take the Epidural Steroid 10-14 days to receive the maximum benefit.
And guess what?? We get to have all this "fun" in 2 weeks and again 2 weeks after that. Then Devil Dr does the same to the right side of my spine.
My back still hurts, and I have the bonus of the injection site pain for a few days.
The last time I had steroid shots was about 4 years ago for my left knee. In 4 months I gained 50 lbs. I am going to watch it really close this time. Treadmill is going to get a workout every day no matter how bad I feel. Then I will relax in my tanning bed.
Ok, enough about my exciting life.

Cathy... my dear sistah... I just had to read that post to my DH... we were both laughing so hard, I could hardly read another line... my jaws are sore.
I know you're hurting, dear... but that's about the funniest I've ever read about someone talking about a really bad doctor experience....

We used to raise rabbits years ago, 6 females and 1 happy male. Sometimes we had 30 or more to do in one day. I could gut and skin a rabbit in less than a minute.

Deborah, Yes, I work for Purdue. My title is little complicated and long since I do so much. Inventory and Conferencing Technology Coordinator.

Basically what that means is I purchase and manage all the hardware and software for 3 buildings and coordinator video conferencing with our faculty and staff using the various pieces of A/V hardware we have available. One of the tools we use is the software link that I have setup for our group.

Let me tell you. You all did better than some of the CEO's that I work with on setting up a meeting.

Anyway, how exciting on going on a cruise and oh, how would I love to see 80 degree weather again.

Cathy, I can't imagine have shots in my spine. My mom has it done and she said it hurts. Her back is in such bad shape they've turned her into a pain pill junkie. It's real sad. She can't stand up all the way and when you look at her from behind her spine is all twisted and curved. She doesn't walk standing straight up and it scares me that one day she will be confined to wheel chair.

The thing that annoys me is that she didn't take care of herself. Now, getting ready to turn 60 she's making her funeral arrangements and talking like she's going to dye tomorrow. She acts as though 60 is old.

If 60 is old I'm only 24 years away from planning my funeral. 24 years isn't very long. I plan on living well into my seventies or eighties. I have to have time to enjoy my retiring after 65.

I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while. As some would have said a few threads back--who has the depends? Good you could post it in such a funny way Cathy.

Lisa, 60 is NOT old!! My Mom turned 90 yesterday and is going strong. 70 is starting to sound really young to me so hang in there. Life is just what you make of it and I think you are doing just fine.

No trick at all Lisa2. In time, you'd soon know all our names. Just refer to the roll up there.
Some of us include our name in parenthesis, next to our city.

Had pot roast, potatoes and carrots with homemade yeast bread tonight for dinner... and I thought Mike was going to bust the button on his jeans. I never thought he'd ever cut loose and eat like my boys did at that age... but tonight, he's made up for lost time. Makes me wonder if he hadn't liked my cooking up till now. He hasn't complained, and he's eaten ... just not gone back for thirds before tonight.
AND, he even wants a roast beef sandwich with the left overs for his lunch tomorrow,.. Don won't even let me pack him the left overs for his lunch... he'd rather have plain ole sliced ham from the grocery store.

Oh, GAWD... I sure hope 60 isn't the new OLD... cause I'm getting there really really fast.
