Thank you all for your encouragement on the greenhouse. I have the will, I will find a way.. just have to use that patience thing.... Thx, Joyce there is also a Habitat for Humanity in Lawrence and I will plan to check them out periodically. JB, hope your chiropractor appt went well and I love that closeup pic of the little fuzzy's.. do show us another pic.. I'd be inquiring about an ark builder, too Anjl..hope there's been a break for you.. it is cloudy and cool today. Jeanne! Pretty car! lol, Pegi... "I have to learn to be more aggressive" -- the worse someone will say is "no". I can take "no" after I hear it a few times ;)

Remember me mentioning above that I use my oven, with the appliance light on, as a "greenhouse"? Well, I have/had 4 different types of maters that I wanna grow this year "SunGold" Cherry, Sweet Red Cherry, Romas, and a new variety called "Endless Summer" and then 'Burpless' Cukes. Well, Sunday afternoon I soaked my peat pellets in hot water with some H202, put in the seeds and put my little covered greenhouse container in the oven. I also did the same thing with 5 different varieties of hardy hibiscus seeds---each little grenhouse container holds 25 peat pellets. Yesterday morning I opened up the oven and 99% of my seeds have already germinated---YIKES!!! Can you say "SPRING FEVER"??? LOL!!!

Jan who's looking forward to homegrown maters...YUM!

(Jan) So Milw, WI(Zone 5b)

Pegi/Samigal: Above you were asking about drying Brug blooms---Yes, it can be done. I dried several of my brugs by putting them between paper towels to absorb the moisture and then between paper and put in my flower press (easy to make) or you could use a heavy book. When dried they look so delicate!

Jan

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Do you lay them flat, or do you try to get the open flower look?
I bet they would be very pretty dried?
Any pictures?
Great job on the germination process. Sounds like it worked very well for you.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Good morning my beautiful friends! I need to check in here and lift my heart a little...I am doing "okay", still nauseated and a little dizzy, but able to eat some. I am mainly just weak as a kitten. Went to the Dr. Friday to have blood drawn yet again (my poor little hands are the only place they can ever get blood from me) are blue and puffy from too much blood drawing, LOL. They had to use heat packs and stimulation to even draw blood yesterday, and still only got a tiny bit to use. I am all dried up....sigh....

Walked up to my Dr.s office from the lab and pitifully demanded that they tell me what they are LOOKING for. His right hand nurse said the the low blood sodium is a MAJOR issue and can cause the extreme vomiting and nausea. Blood sodium is not affected whatsover by dietary salt. They are monitoring so much blood to see if it's getting better each time. I told her I wanted answers, and she called this morning and told me to call her right back. So far I haven't been able to get ahold of her. I will let you all know....

Bonnie I can't tell you how excited I am for you finally getting a greenhouse. You are one of the few really strong people I know (have) in my life and I know you can get it finished like you want. Oops, Dr.s office just called while I'm typing this....The tiny amount of blood they got yesterday "emulized", non-usable, cause by vein damage where they drew blood....sigh......They need me to come in again today. On a brighter note, the nurse called to say the Dr. wanted to see me in person Thursday morning at 10:00 to discuss this. Well, wish me luck. I just want to KNOW WHAT TO DO to get better. Spring is coming and I am ready to get out there!

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

Jan, so yer sayin' I should start looking for a curb stove w/working oven light? I know if I used my kitchen oven, those babies would get baked....I've baked a dirty skillet a time or two.. lol (I'm green with envy- I've been waiting 4 weeks on some hibiscus seed..) Congrats to you! Thanks for the brilliant idea... I'm planting more maters this year and other veggies.. mostly trying straw bale gardening cause I have some straw bales available and I want to grow more to eat and save on the food bill. I'd love to have a big round bale to play with but mine are the "big shredded wheat" size ;) It's a double experiment.. growing in the bales and hoping the deteriorating straw will help my clay soil. Also want to try growing in the coconut coir.. All these projects are sure helping me through the last weeks of winter.. I love green... brown buffalo, brown grass, brown naked trees... I love spring, AuntB-waiting..... patiently..

Bonnie, if you use the coconut coir, please be careful. It attracks animals, dogs, cats..., and if they lick or eat it, it is poisonous to them. Gotta watch out for the furry freinds!
Karen, sp glad to see youposting. I was reading google health, and they said it can be treated with iv fluids, and pills.
This is nothing to take light heartedly, so please listen to the DR!!!

Jan, I have some seeds I would love to put in the oven now, as I have been w a i t i n g....... But my husband wouldn't like that. He uses the oven everyday. He's the cook in the family. Hmmmmm can he make a short trip somewhere?

Good girl Karen. You keep after your doc until you get answers. Drs can tend to leave you hanging. I finally fired a dr after way to many tests to find out why I was having migraines with mini strokes in the 90's. She tried me on way too many drugs, some at the sametime, that gave me siezures or turned me into a zombie. My family thought I was dying. She wanted to do one more test and I told her no. I'll leave it to Jesus. In 1997 He healed me of both and I haven't had either affliction sense. I put my faith in Him now and go to the dr when I feel led of the Lord. He has never let me down yet. Of course when you fall down and break your ankle in your front yard, you know you need the dr. No brainer, but still, that fracture was completely healed in three weeks. The dr was shocked. I wasn't. :) So having said all that Karen, I will keep you in my prayers.

I saw in the news the horrible flooding in Ca. It's a mess there. Ya'all be careful out there. Wouldn't want anybody swept away in their car.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks so much for the link Linda Kay! And listen hon, please don't get Coconut Coir confused with Cocoa mulch, which is NO NO NO for pets, has chocolate "cocoa"from the Cocoa tree, and it actually emits a chocolate odor which will kill pets. Coconut coir is from Coconut shells which contains no cocoa. Dogs could eat it with no effects. It is really the best thing since sliced bread as a planting mix. I have converted completely from Miracle Grow, or potting mix, to Coconut Coir in everything I plant in containers. COCOA mulch is used mainly in beds, or around trees. It is a rough texture. Coconut Coir potting mix feels like butter in your hands, grows bigger and better flowers, retains moisture at a perfect level, is reusable for several years, and on and on..

Right now everyone on the Vegetable Forums here at DG are buying it hand over fist for veggies, but it is just as effective for flowers and I would love to see some of you at least try it. I haven't said much on here for fear of "pushing" a member's site or product, but this is the real McCoy. It is reusable for many years. It doesn't contain fertilizer though like Miracle Grow, so you do have to add your own, which most of us do anyway.

Okay, I'm offa my soapbox now but by gosh I just want to tell everyone I know about this stuff. It comes in a compacted brick, you soak it in water and it expands into your mix. A little goes a very long way, not like lugging bags of expensive Miracle Grow soil around. It is also dirt cheap, which is a huge plus for me, costs alot less than Miracle Grow potting mix. Love you alls!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Does he take pay pal?
Guess I have never heard of the coconut coir. Sorry for confusing it with the mulch!

Texasgrower, what a great testimony (?spelling) for healing by Jesus. I sure dislike drs. who keep plying us with different meds. Faith is what keeps us going.

I'm reall considering using my oven for germinating. I'll just have to put up a post-it-note reminding me not to turn oven on without checking inside first.

Jan, I just laid my brug bloosom on a paper towel, hoping it will dry. I had roses from last Valentine's Day from son and left them in vase, just poured water out. They dried as is and they are pretty. Have another bloosom that is about ready to be taken off plant and I'll try that one your way. Thanks.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Linda Kay, I sure didn't mean to come off preachy, your information was dead on correct about COCOA Coir...Coir basically means shredded tree bark, very similar in name I agree, it would be easy for anyone to get confused. I did read the caution on the Texas forum, and was sure glad to know about it. I would just die if one of my 3 Boston babies ate some and got poisoned. But on a bright note, it did give me an opportunity to let you know about the Coconut Coir and how excited I am about it. I sure hope you try some, you will LOVE it. I'm not certain about the PayPal....Bob will be happy to always speak on the phone to you, he is a great guy. I know he takes almost anything, even checks and money orders and promises of first grandchildren, hehe. Be sure and read the link I made on his site explaining all the benefits of using the coconut coir.

Just drop Bob an email and ask him to call you. Love you girl

hi there everyone.. Karen I am still praying for you to get well quickly.. I guess we are ( I say "we" ) are calling in Hospice as Paula nor I can take care of Pauline by ourselves anymore.. Poor Woman.. She can't even hold a spoon or fork now from the crippling of her hands.. plz say prayers that Her Prayer would be answered and not anyones elses' ( long story there) Spring Fevor .. hmm.. five trips out back to wander around and keep throwing leaves over all that thinks it is spring.. only I know too well it is not finished being winter... I have so many seedlings up inside everywhere.. and about to blooms on bulbs and flowers.. will post them when they happen.. sitting here wondering if I should check myself in to an asyllum or something.. since I have more seeds coming and five of everythng here.. name this bulb about to bloom...

So sorry to hear about Pauline. Prayers going out for her prayers to be answered!
Karen, is the coconut coir added to the miracle grow soil to stretch it further? Sorry for so many questions, but it does sound very interesting! You did not come off sounding preachy at all.
LK

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

I do not know Pauline but my prayers will be for her too. I had hospice for my Mother. It is not easy having strangers in your house 24/7 and very stressful at times. I ended up still getting up during the night. The Hospice women were asleep. Hmmmm. Not good. God Bless you all.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Linda Kay you don't add it to the Miracle Grow potting mix, it IS the mix. Nothing else added. It is sterilized too, so no germies or fungus come in it which can often happen with the MG mix. It goes alot further than the bags of Miracle Grow too, fills more pots for a cheaper price.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like a good idea, I will go and check it out.
Good night all.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Does anyone know where and when OUR RU is? plz dmail me for info.. I am also going to go to the little rock , ar ru

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Which round up are you looking for?

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Bonnie, the brug seeds arrived today. Thanks so much. I'm going to be busy soon setting up my containers with all kinds of seeds. I keep watching my Buddah Belly seedling and it does appear another leaf is going to pop out. Got a 3 faced Buddah head at our local 99 cent store so I know where it is going when my plant starts getting bigger. Picked up two plastic pots today too, 99 cents each, and don't know just what I'm going to put in them yet, oval shape.

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

Bonnie, thanks so much. my seeds arrived yesterday. I am so excited to get started but I must wait for my half flats to come. I love those because they are so easy to work with and the little plastic domes are great to keep the humidity. I will keep you posted on my germination.
Karen, I am still praying for you. I can only imagine how disappointed you were when they take blood and then can not use it. The woman in the lab I use is built like a line backer and she is one of the meanest women I have ever met. She has an attitude that just makes my blood boil, and sometimes when she draws it I think it will come out in bubbles. Oh well, gotta do what you gotta do.
It is very cold, damp and windy here. Waiting for a front to go thru and it is nasty. I had to adjust the temp in the greenhouse today to be sure the new cuttings do not get a chill.
Have a great day and keep an eye on the sky,. the robins are really showing up now.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Morning all.

Pegi, so glad Buddah Belly is doing good. Funny in a Buddah pot...

Ordered a bunch of oriental lily bulbs. I love them. Ordered some stargazier pure white oriental lilies and some Miss Lucy double bloom pink oriental lilies.

Figured out my garden has a couple of flaws....LOL One I buy one plant at a time because I don't know if I am going to like it and I don't know if it is going to like me. It is one thing to lose one plant, but another to lose several (too expensive). So this year I am filling in gaps with the plants that love me and buying things that bloom later. Love my spring garden, like my early summer, not so much the summer garden, and fall gets a little better than summer but not much....LOL Anyone have any suggestions on later flowering plants in zone 5?

Central Midwest RU - is May 9th. It is close to Sedalia I believe. Go to the Central Midwest Forum, everything is posted there. That is where I met AuntB. I will be able to make it this year. Our MG flower sale is the weekend before (I hope). The year I was there, we had a great selection of plants and seeds (it was fall).

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

Morning everyone! I spent a long time on the phone with my friend Linda from CA, who is an avid researcher on any subject you want to know, she is exhaustive in her quests sometimes. She loves me, so she has taken her teeth to research on my illness....What she has learned is this....

Low blood sodium is a dangerous electrolyte imbalance. It can be CAUSED by vomiting, not a symptom of. Anorexics and people that vomit on purpose get it, and it is what kills them. They get a low sodium balance from vomiting, and it gives them a heart attack.

So, she has concluded that if they will just treat the darned vomiting, find out why I am, the sodium imbalance will correct itself. We need to be researching why I'm vomiting....Is it an ulcer, etc. I will be bringing this all to my Dr. when I go Thursday, and hope he will pursue the root of the problem better. So, that is my game plan.

Oh, how I wish you were here close. I have a greenhouse slap full of exotic and unusual flowers, peppers and tomatoes. Black, white and green when ripe tomatoes, etc. Most were grown to take to our RU in May. Linda Kay and Jeanne will get some, hehe! :~) Bonnie????? If one of us wins the lottery will you try to come?

Feeling a little better now so I'm going out to the greenhouse. I enjoy it still so much out there. I am addicted to Christian Talk Radio and love the sermons mixed in with political shows as well as the people that call in with life problems and need advice. I listen while I work out there. It keeps me good and current, since I don't read the paper. Jeanne, do you ever listen to 100.7 (my favorite) or 90.3 out of Jacksonville?

Have a good day everyone, Love you all~ Sincere thanks to all of you who've prayed for me, I sure need it.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

ADDED FOR JBERGER!

Meant to tell you a story. The meanest woman in town worked at my local convenience store (very small town, not many to choose from). Her brand of spitefulness consisted daily of glaring as I'd come in, not saying a word, not accepting money from my hand, nor offering change in my hand. (slapped in on the counter) all without a word, just glaring. Years of this I endured. I really hated to go into the store because it ruined my whole day. I guess God just spoke to me one day.............

I walked into the store grinning like a lunatic. Loudly told her, "Hon, I am always so glad to see you!!! You are so sweet and kind to me always, I just love seeing you when I shop here, it makes my day. I hope you have a wonderful day, and thank you for always putting a smile on my face!" Then I walked out, leaving her with a gaping mouth and large eyes........Of course, I was being very VERY sarcastic when I said it, I was not sincere in the least.

From that day till everymore, that lady greets me happily and cheerfully when I come in, she smiles from ear to ear, and it changed her attitude totally. Maybe I changed her life? Maybe she despised her job? Who will ever know. Grin till your ears split JB....Do what I did. Maybe I'm the only person that ever said that to her. Who knows, it worked for me! (and by the way, I have since used this technique on other surly people that I dreaded seeing....It seems to work every time! LOL~ Love you

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

I tried that and she is still mean. She just is one unhappy person. She obviously has a problem because I am not the only one who noticed the attitude. Several seniors I know will not even go there except on her day off. I am like you, I keep trying to be nice hoping someday she will see the light, but it has not happened to date. LOL

I think your story is great and I love doing things like that when necessary. Maybe next time I will take her a plant. HA! A cactus? Now I am being mean. I feekl truly sad for people who are so miserable their attitudes show in public.

NE, KS(Zone 5b)

So happy to see your post Karen... you definately need some relief... I'll add dear Pauline to my prayers, as well. I'm with you Jeanne... put my faith in the good Lord, not modern medicine. I have a lot of respect for MD's but not a lot of faith. There is a need for them, but they are NOT God. Debra, I'm saying a little prayer for strength for YOU and know I'm sending a great big hug. JB, Pauline is Debra's mother-in-law from a previous marriage.. they are so fortunate to have her still as part of their family... I THINK I'm caught up with you ladies' on the thread here.... my home is so hectic when Drew visits... finally found someone to look at his inoperable car, they can't come until Friday... still no new seeds planted... but I'm lovin all the plant talk and pics... Spring IS in route... coming slowly but on it's way! Great on the seed arrival Jacquie- the ones I forgot are on their way---Bull-dozing forward-B
P.S. Being pleasant takes a lot less energy than being a grump. Karen, I like your grump relief technique.. and will try it (soon, I'm sure ;) LK-thanks for your concern on the coconut coir and our pets-- better to be safe than sorry.. I can replace a plant but not my pets. That brings to mind to remind everyone that datura and our beloved brugs are poisonous as well as tomato plant foliage and most plant seeds... Great buy on Bocabob's coir "kit"... I need to take advantage with at least 1 of his kits... I had some coir left over from an orchid growing attempt and hope you use up what I have available (orchids have long since bit the dust), but FREE for shipping cost is a great deal! Gotta get busy... so I can feel like I've accomplished something on this beautiful day we've been given. Joyce-glad you can make it the the RU in Sedalia, I missed you last Fall, but I did get to meet and hug Louise in person, and now she's moved to FL.. Lav I'll miss you being there this Spring. Debra? THAT would be wonderful if you are going!!! YAY! I've got to decide if I'm going to try to make the Wichita Garden Show... I really shouldn't, but you know how it is? Debra, I've got my hands on a few yellow morning glory seeds... I will share if you would you like some? I've never seen the yellow before... I know you are heavy into the MG's...I'll direct sow in May, but I can send them down to you anytime. Let me know. Cody? Okay down there? What's blooming today?

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

A beautiful day in the neighborhood! I do love the sun and warm breezes. But that will change starting tonight. :( The birds are singing such pretty songs. The red bud trees have their little buds sewlling. Some of the trees are already putting out green leaves. Spring is closer. I can almost smell it.

Karen, I listen either to 1450AM, talk radio, or 91.1FM out of Baton Rouge, Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. My hubby likes the C&W out of Palestine and Crockett. Now one of those, I don't know which, plays the nasally, you're cheatin heart stuff. I don't really like it. I don't mind most C&W.

I have planted the Antique LaceXPeach Versi seeds Bonnie. The Maya X ? we're extremely hard to peel out of the cork, so I soaked some and just planted some. We'll see which ones poke out first. I didn't want to tear the seed apart. It didn't come out like the Antique Lace. We'll see. My American Pride might be one of the smaller brugs you're looking for. If it is i will either send a cutting in the fall after I see it's blooms and size, or seeds. It has buds on it now. It is supposed to be yellow. I'm going to plant Blue Heaven mg with the yellow mg seeds you sent. I think the little yellow ones poking through the big blue would be pretty. I might even mix some with Scarlet mg.

I had two Texas Stars germinate and one columbine. Still waiting on the others. The red petunias are doing good.

I can hardly wait until spring to plant all my ideas. Hoping for a pretty garden this summer. Have cannas, day lilies, and calibrachoas to plant too. Putting my hydrangea in the ground along with two dwarf crapes and two butterfly bushes. I'm trying to cut down on my potted plants. It's a lot less work.

I hope everyone is having as nice a day as Karen and I are with our weather.

(Karen) Frankston, TX(Zone 8a)

hehe, buy her a beautiful Hallmark card and write in it like she is your dearest friend on earth, really lay it on thick. Take her a teddy bear and flowers, hahaha~ That woman had no idea I was being sarcastic, didn't mean a word I said, but for some reason I cracked her. (I have a problem in that I can't stand it when people dislike me for no reason), don't ask me why. Alot of people out there don't deserve my love or kindness. But that is a true example of kill them with kindness, LOL! I'll share with you a joke I laid on Bonnie a few months ago, that we just both love, but I will try to change the expletive that is the punchline:

Two lSouthern adies that knew each other in High School met up years later. One had become very, very wealthy, and one was living paycheck to paycheck. As they strolled around the woman's mansion, the rich woman would point out various expensive things her husband had bought for her, and the poor friend kept smiling and nodding and saying "that's nice, that's very, VERY nice!" After hearing much bragging all day, the poor friend continued to smile until her face cracked and kept on saying "That's nice, that's very, VERY nice!".

After a day of bragging, the rich woman finally ran out of things to show and tell, and she finally asked her friend what her husband had done for her. The poor friend smiled widely and said "Well, he sent me to charm school, where they taught me not to say "Your choice of expletive" " you", but "That's nice, that's very VERY nice!"

May we all be Southern Ladies no matter where we are from, LOL!

May we all

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

That is so cute. Thanks for sharing. I may have to mend my ways and learn to be nicer.
Old dog.................new tricks....................I don't think so. LOL

My 88 year old cousin just called me from Hershey, Pa to tell me it is snowing. That was all I needed. She proceeded to tell me it is coming my way. I don't know how she lived this long because she tries to irritate me constantly. We have a great relationship because her Mother and my Mother were sisters and we were a close family. I was an only child and she had a sister and two brothers. One of which is going to be 90 in August. We have deviled each other all our lives and we are still doing it. Our Grandfather was the editor and publisher of a weekly newspaper in a small town in PA. and he taught us how to tease and love at the same time. We spent most of our lives laughing and working very hard. I was selling newspapers standing on a box at the counter , before I even went to school. Maybe that is why I ask so many questions, I was raised in the newspaper business. I love memories.

I got my half flats today and now I am going to begin planting my new seeds. YAHOO!
I think I will eat lunch and finish work on my other project today because it is cold, rainy and windy and nasty outside. I am working on framing some pressed flowers. Anyone on this list ever press flowers? Make pictures with them? I am new at the framing thing, so you never know how that will turn out. I am not an artist either.

I am out of here. Have a wondetful afternoon and evening and keep smiling. Hugs JB

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

JB, those framed pressed flowers sound very nice. No I have never done anything like that, but would love to see what you come up with.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Happgarden, do the Buddah plants grow so slow? Not much patience here. The buddah head I bought isn't a pot just round with a different expression on each side. Would be nice to have one in a buddah pot though. Something to watch for while shopping.

No rain but sunshine so it is time to get out and start preparing the ground for planting. I have to get my min roses in the ground, have such a hard time with keeping them in their original pots. I think taking things out of the trash runs in my family. Son brought me some material that they were going to use for keeping the dust down where he works, but it didn't work so they threw it out. He says it will be great for laying on the ground so weeds don't grow, just the plants. Would be nice if I didn't have to keep pulling weeds out of the front flower beds.

Loved the story about the meanest lady. You shocked her so much she didn't know what to do. I've run into some nasty people and I just try to stay out of their way, but your way is the way to go.

Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

Linda, it just took me an hour to put the velvet on the back of the frame. I am not really what you call good at cutting and pasting. I am glad I got alot of material to mess up. I am glue all over my hands and that is not good. it is snowing. Do you see those big tears on my post? I was hoping for just rain. Big old flakes coming off the ocean. I thought it was to be coming from the West.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Pegi, I got my Buddah Belly all grown up....LOL I have never started one by seed. Can't say mine has grown alot since I got it so my best guess would be it grows slow. The plant I am having no patience on is those darn plumeria's. Now it has become a test for me.

Gosh, you guys in TX are killing me....LOL Our temperatures are flopping all over the place. Warm one day and cold the next. By warm I mean 45 or 50...cold by TX standards...LOL

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Only one plumeria see sprouted and I keep watching it. I know they grow slow, but never tried one from seed until now.

Started clearing out around my rose bushes in front and what a job. It goes slow when I have to stop to give the back a rest. At least I can see two of the bushes now, sunny days help me get into the weed pulling stage. A lot more work to do, but doing it slowly. Next time I go out I'll remember to take along my MP3 player, weeding seems to be more enjoyable with music.

Palestine, TX(Zone 8b)

happgarden, don't be too envious. We are going down to 39° tonight with a high in the low 60's tomorrow. Then freezing Sat and Sun. Tomorrow night might yield a freeze too. We have had yoyo weather all winter. I can't wait for it to stableize (sp?). I took all my plants back into the GH or workshop except for the surfinias. They'll go in tomorrow night. Well, we had today.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

evening all.. happ, bonnie I am in for the RU in sedalia... Karen plz find out why you are vomiting so much.. i need you to be well.. we all do.. JB you inspire me.. Pegi, jeanne, linda kay.. with Happ it is 70 oe day and 30 thenext down here/up here whatever.. Cody where are some pics? Gosh.. weeding? I did get some wintered up plants transplanted from the beanpatch to the flower barrels out back.. not real sure what they are , but since it is from the flower head throw downs I know they are flowers LOL.. my parsly is up and growing prettily in the tomatoe patch where I had it.. anyone know what spurge is? mine i sup and big and about to bloom outside.. crazy!
went over and gave pauline a bath and rubbed her poor feet and back and hands down... I think she needs a margarita if you ask me.. she sure did like to put those down just a year ago.. *sigh* hospice used to come in with a new slogan "not for just the dying anymore" Paulas' hopes are dashed because today they said "only if she is dying" what the hell.. who is to know when someone is on their last week or month or day? so now it is up to the Drs to tell them what stage she is in and will call Friday to tell us.. what spineless creatures those drs are to tell Paula that way instead of face to face.. *sigh* i'm going to go now.. love you all ..

Good morning all. One of those morning I couldn't sleep so that means computer time.

I would enjoy having a margarita with Pauline. I'm praying that her prayers are answered. You are such a good gal for taking such good care of her. I'm sending her a picture of my Judy Garland rose to cheer her up.

Aw! Cody, how cute! Looks so fresh and new! Debra.. My thoughts and prayers are with you and dear Pauline... and Karen.. anxiously awaiting word about what you hear from your dr, today. So hope they get you something to stop the vomiting. I'd give (sneak if necessary) Pauline whatever she wants.. margarita? Sure.. ice cream? Sure...Big Mac? Sure.. Cigarette? Sure. Seems like such a small request, let alone a bit of respect from her dr. Poor Dear.. some Dr's need as many years learning about bed-side manner and human respect as they had on ALL their medical courses... I think one does have to be taught respect from an early age.... If there is ANYTHING I can do for you I'm only a couple hours away.. anything Debra.. just let me know. (((Pauline & Debra and your whole family))) We have sunny cold and wind today.... over 65 yesterday and down into the teens last night... I am thankful to have the sunshine.. so helps my attitude. JB.. I'm excited for you getting your new flats so you can DIG IN! ---no new plant happenings here, YET.. lots of ideas..."mass" planting will begin, soon. Joyce, so yer tellin' us this Buddah belly baby is a slow grower ?... a back shelf grower in summer and up front and blooming plant in the winter? Ok, it's still worth the wait.. already added it to my "wait list"... I'm almost ready to squeeeeeze a little leaf out of these fat seeds I've got.. Push little buddah, PUSH! lol On the DG Midwest RU.. YAY!!! So glad we're all going this year... Louise? Comin to Nebraska to visit family around RU time???? ;) Well.... are ya?? Karen.. I'll figure something out for coming down there, my first priority is to meet you (and Jeanne-if she doesn't know I'd love to meet her- Jeanne, I so hope I get to meet you!) but if it works out, I could experience a Texas DG RU, first hand, as well! I heard they have big ones....you guys have BIG ones, right? Enjoy your day, Everyone! Do a random act of kindness if you get an opportunity.. it makes you feel good. AnjL? You building an ark? Hey, I have my eyeball on an old grill... Cody, I was up earlier than normal today, too.. thanks for that pic with the lil green... and the Judy Garland!!! ah.. lovely!
