27 here this morning going to 37 but in the 40s tomorrow. Going to be 60 Sat to give us a small taste of spring then watch out I bet. It ain't over yet!!! Hope you get this straightened out Betty.
Liz Powder is fine thanks. All my animals and bird are just spoiled rotten. I will stand and talk to Powder and she talks back to me LOL TRUE!!
Here comes Mr. Scott on his hourly excersize walking from one end of house to the other. He quit for a long time but just sitting hurts his back so much and he was gaining weight again so he is at it again. Must go through some things and start spring cleaning. Going to get rid of a bunch of stuff. Back to town tomorrow for more meds and animal food. Hi to all & HUGS BEV
This is the windblown look!!!!!
Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #83
Wrote you a long post and Paul was doing something in back room, disconnected internet ..so here we go again...
Stacey, I can feel you beaming just in your posts..nice that you have a positive attitude..omg how do you expect to work with that 'to do' list on hand...I do have one comment..I see that a 'visit to Betty's' is low on that list...lol..don't you know I have a long weekend coming up on the 14th/15th and 16th...would only cost you gas $$$ to come and craft for that weekend providing of course there is not blizzard...I've enough craft supplies that we could work day and night for a year and not touch to surface..come on, go for it...
Not sure Bev what I do wrong, Bernice across the street has a zillion birds all winter...I have birdhouses all over the yard, got to tell you shovelling to get to them is a chore..anyway, hardly a bird..my kitties don't go outside so can't be that which is detering them, maybe there food is better than my food..someone must have passed on the message about my cooking abilities, even the birds don't want to come to eat..lol...
That's beautiful weather...with all the seeds you have, did you start growing indoors yet or do you do that...I thank you especially for the sunflower seeds, I so want a yard of them but can't seem to grow them...maybe this year I'll be lucky...black hollyhocks, won't they look pretty amonst yellow flowers...I tried to start seeds early last year but started way too early and ended up being sprigly and most did not take so perhaps in late March/early April I'll try once again...
Very important for Scotty to get excercise isn't it? Do you have a mall nearby he might try to spend a few hours early doing a walk..know that a mall in the area here opens 1 hr early to provide a walking area during the winter...
1st time in 100 years that a policeman shot someone .. they were called to a home in Midland, town just a few miles from me, not sure what happened but a 38 year old man shot dead by police...guess the rest of the story will soon come out...being investigated...
Carol, you out swimming this morning or sitting watching the birds...
Oh Betty-it isn't that it is low on the list by any means-I didn't list them by priority, just a list:) Is that in March or Feb??
I learned that the south can get as cold as the north. I don't mean precisely, but pretty awful at 2 deg and wind gusting to 40 m.p.h.
I learned that it was mistake to buy a beagle and live in a community of average lots even though they are placed up and down the mountain and relatively private. A little googling and I discovered that you are not gonna stop them from barking and if outside, they are going to chase scents and bay, no way to stop that. I also learned they are smart which means they can get into trouble. Mine has stolen all kinds of articles from the neighbors, mainly shoes left on the decks. I also learned he is extremely funny and endearing. Very sweet nature and loving. As you can see, I am in a quandry.
Truth be told, the seed stuff is #1;)LOL And then after that putting away Xmas decor!!
Yes, I'm still feeling ill. Sage was sick yesterday and I was feeling better, but this morning I feel horrible and Sage went to school, though I'm not sure if that's because she's feeling better or just doesn't want to miss climbing class.
No word on the house, we're negotiating on several points that would be required for us to take the place so it goes from us to the agent to the owner and back; but we're going to follow up this afternoon.
I hope to be on for awhile this afternoon, so hopefully I'll be more talkative then.
I do want a little gun in the house, we do live out in the sticks and the police don't patrol out there. I do need to call them and ask them if they will do a FYI without making a report about it. If they make a report they'll have to go over there and talk to him, I don't want that.
I am feeling better today, still gassy but not as bad and the rest has pretty much stopped. I found out this morning that one of the gals here had the same exact thing 2 weeks ago, she's been out of the office most of the time so I haven't had a chance to talk to her until today, but she went over her symptoms and they are identical to mine, said it started going away on the 7th day and was gone by the 10th day, today is my 7th day. She said if I still have it at the end of the weekend I have something else going on. Wish I could have known that 7 days ago lol!
Your welcome Betty, you are loved you know. When I was filling it out I was thinking "be sure and put your user name on here so she'll know who it's from" then I dropped it in the mailbox at the post office and said, "Oh shoot, I didn't put my user name on it!" I'm glad you figured it out, I probably wouldn't have and would have been dmailing everyone and posting it everywhere lol!
Well I've got to get some lunch, Chinese or Mexican... probably should stick with mild stuff still. ggrrrrrrrrrrr
LOL-Chinese or Mexican-my dear-if you eat those foods, you may never end your bout of whatever you have!!LOL
Haircut in about an hour! Yipee! This mess is driving me crazy! Gonna color it in the next few days, maybe I can do more with it. Decided to fabric shop Mon, when I see the orthopedic dr. I'll get my fat quarters AND my flannel at the same time!
Wayne's back on power now, nice and toasty! Said he was gonna leave the lights on all night! Still lots of people out yet.
I haven't started my winter sowing yet, I'll try to do that next week. I've never done that before, only in the house! I did, however, sprinkle down some seeds on the ground last fall! Now if I can just tell them from the weeds!
How frustrating, lost an entire 2 posts, say I'm not a member..going to try this before I type and type again..
Guess they got me fixed up..
Where to start..won't gab too long as it will be lunch shortly and I've yet to get my travel insurance and pick up my sewing machine..really should exchange Canadian for USA dollars but I know that there is an exchange trailer right before crossing over...
You know what, just thought of something, didn't check if I needed a passport to cross over as yet..know that when flying I do .. they had extended the time for which you could only use passport..best I go check that out or I'll be going to the border for nothing...be right back..after lunch I'll gab and report the ones I loves...
Should always remember copy/paste right
Betty, your name now shows you are paid thru July 2010 :o) so glad that you are back 'with us'! teehee! dont know what we would do without you and all your inspiration!
hope you all have a wonderful day today. its rainy here, so no working in the yard for me :o( but am taking DD to get a tattoo of DGS newborn handprint on her back today :o) should be a cute tattoo! and thankfully she is having it done on her back where no one but her will see :o)
will try to post a pix of tattoo tonight, once its complete :o)
{{hugs}}to all who need them!
AnjL
Betty-did you see my post above??
Stacey, got kicked off the system 2 or 3 times, lost all my posts...
Yes, saw your post..so glad to be able to read between the lines that you are happy and smilling... how wonderful that must be..had posted that I'm off next weekend for 3 days, know it's February and not March but hey, if it's a sunshine weekend might do you good to get away..only cost you gas $$$, have enough crafts to keep us busy for a lifetime..how will you ever find time to work with a 'to do' list that long..lol
Commented as well Bev on the aquarium seed started, now that's novel..I did start seedling last year but much too early, this year especially the sunflowers I'll start late March/early April and see how I do then...
AnnMarie I so look forward to seeing the tatoo, DIL had it done just below her slacks line in the back, miniature..says it's painful though..not something I would do, don't like pain...especially to pay for it..lol...
I thought my subscription had cancelled me out but it wasn't that at all, not sure why I was booted off as I still had until July 2009, so with my paying another year I'm up to July 2010..just think if the good Lord's willing how much we can chat and how many projects we'll have accomplished...isn't life grand...
Got my insurance (just in case of accident), picked up my machine, was more than he said $248.37..now I could have used those dollars at Cracker Barrel..the pitz I say...lol
it's a sunshine day here, 2 3/4 hrs. left..should be travelling against the traffic up to mom's and then it should be late enough the drive to Buffalo I shouldn't be hitting a lot of work traffic...
Audrey, new hairdo will make you feel young again..lol..when you winter sew if you've snow on the ground how do you know the seeds will land in the gardens..??? just wondering
Bev they are doing great...now do you have an aquarium light over them..
going to tell you I'm not enjoying DG today..wrote a long post again and it's in cybrespace...know I've responded to each and every one of you at least 5 times...giving up for the day..
Yes I keep the light on 24 7 even tho they are in a southfacing window. I have the lid open for air after they come up. I think I am going to have some streaky hostas this yr. I have more seed in the freezer that I will plant out side in the spring. Had to put wire racks on top under the light because Powder got down in it three times. She didn't kill but one plant but not going to let her use it. She has her own little bathroom. Will take more pics when they get bigger. BEV
Bev how come you have the seeds in the freezer, is that what you do to winter sow? as you can see, posting 2 liners so if I lose the post not much to type again...lol
Bev, I don't remember seeing seeds on my hostas...that's how much of a gardener I am..lol...probably in those little flowers some get right?Carol has so many varieties, you should see them, once I saw hers to town I went and purchased more..they are doing great in front yard..well not today though..lol...even put a large one in a floating basket in the pond, it realy did well, took it out in the fall and transplanted..that takes a lot of patience to start hostas' from seed...
ok going to collect seeds Bev now when I see them...I always just divide mine..isn't that easier...not as much fun though? It's been one h..l of a long day, 15 more minutes and I'm off ...
Keep the homefires burning for my girls...lol
Keep well...
Betty-You are nicer than I-I wouldn't have paid 1 penny over the amount on the phone!!
Aren't you going away next weekend??
*waving*
~~~~~~~~~~~~waving back~~~~~~~~
I hate when it is reaally hot too, I try to figure which I hate more. We have swamp coolers that work great if in the house to keep it cool inside, sometimes cold, in fact, but it is like a fan in cost of electricity to cool, so the heat in our summers is only hot outside.
Guess what I got a promotion in my job. My boss told me, though it was a job that I had applied for 2 months ago and the supervisor who was interviewing, illegally, blew off all of us that applied, who had the same job title as Job Coach, she hired a guy who did not work out and my big boss was mad, because he wanted her to hire one of us, he said, it should have been me all along, which made me feel great!!!!!!! It has about $3 an hour more and it is in an office doing data entry and some other stuff dispatching the work orders for maintenance to repair things, at NASA. yippie! It is full-time and has benefits which the other did not. My boss said, she was not going to let my friend Bree and I, go anywhere. That made me feel better. She gave us so many hours that we could not look for another job.
Happy for you girls. BEV
Anjl, waiting on that tattoo picture please!
Betty you have a wonderful and safe trip tomarrow. Don't spend all your money at the cracker barrell!
Hello All - We lost our kitty, Smoky, tonight to an unfortunate hit and run accident outside our house. Youngest daughter and Oldest son took it in stride but middle daughter was not here when we discovered it and was torn up. We had 3 pets, Indy (13+ yrs old greyhound not doing well) Shadow (7 yr old fat cat) and Smoky( walked up last April and decided this was the place he would live and that we would accommodate him). Roxanne asked me if I thought Shadow "knew" that Smoky was killed. I told her that I did think that. She said "How do you KNOW". I said "I don't KNOW ....I said I THINK that he knows." I think that because 1) Shadow was particularly attentive with me tonight.....wanting to be in my lap while on the computer, and later while at the TV. 2) I sense that everything alive is entertwined and all living things are involved with one another. Even plants to a certain extent. When the weather is good and I lay in my hammock outside...I sense that all the squirrels / birds KNOW that I am there and sense my movements. What are your thoughts on this theory? I think for example that my Maternal Grandma 'knew' that my Mom was dying of cancer...why else would she choose to pass on 8 months before Mom...when she had been in the Nursing Home for years upon years?....And totally unresponsive to anything for years... Love to all - Goodnight...Hugs,......Mary
Mary so sorry about Smokey, and yes I do agree with you about all living things being intertwined. When I was ten we lost my dog Feathers to a hit and run driver.....I will never forget a minute of that day....my heart goes out to you, and especially the kids. My pets have never been outside pets as a result of that accident.....Love and Hugs to all of you and an extra Pat for Shadow because yes, they Do Know.
Trisha
