Spooks and ghosts and wheeping ladies...oh my Pt 4

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

Aho and O'siyo.....

KyWoods and many others from DG know me well....

I have lurked on this forum for some time....I am a Native American Indian...well into my 60's...
For all of my life, I have had a companion beside me...Mine happens to be my Paternal Great GrandFather...Many others have seen him...as he chooses....
One of my neighbors has a house dog, and an outside kenneled dog...He likes the dog in the pen and goes there often to visit...When my neighbor lets the house dog out to potty...she now barks her head off just since I moved here in Nov...

My neighbor on the other side asked me tonight if GrandFather was nearby as her dog was barking at *Nothing* and that never happens... Her dog is an extremely very quiet dog unless you approach her door...She has a small barn that has a horse stall in it, but no horse, and GrandFather decided to explore it...She is aware of him, and has seen some things he has done, but he has not allowed her to see him yet....

I live in the middle, and all 3 of our properties equal about 18 acres together...and we sit way back from the road with woods around us...
This is the most land I have lived on in quite a few years and the Ole Injun is enjoying the space and the several barns to explore...

I know about the other side....He has told me and shown me ..He was with me during some hard times when I was in the Army during a very bloody War...He helped guide me through them...and has been tightly by my side ever since...
I no longer fear the other side of this plane we live on...It is merely another dimension...As our souls age, we go on to other planes, or come here to this one to be with those who need us...not necessarily those we know or knew in a former time...

Peace be with you all...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Dusty! I was just thinking about you today and wondering what you were doing, assuming pottery.

How neat, GrandFather exploring and all. He's definitely with you the way he follows you around. Your guardian angel!

One of the little towns up north in the Ozarks, Eureka Springs, has two hotels that were built in the late 1800's, both open for business and both are haunted. I would love to stay the night in one of those hotels, but boy they are expensive but the pictures are extravagant.

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

O'Siyo Crissy!!

Sculpting I wish... but alas no...I have been painting the inside of the house...Living, dining, 3 hallways and soon to be 1 of the 3 bedrooms will be done...By the time I finish, it will be time to go outside and dance by the fire and begin to garden...

Creator Bless you little one....Be at Peace this night....

Deer Park, IL(Zone 5b)

Dusty: i enjoy the picture you painted of your SG exploring the land and the barn.

Sharonna: Do you really believe you don't already have an intuitive ability? If you had a "ghostly" experience than you are open to this. At the moment I am not very intuitive. As my children grow up I am getting more and more sleep and feel less "intuitively" connected. Do I still get information off people? Yes I do if I want to. Five years ago it flooded me like out of control. I saw things everywhere and it took me by surprise. I had a hard time going into large meeting rooms like PTO meeting at my kids school because of all the emotions bouncing off the walls from the other parents. I also didn't like knowing so much information about people. I didn't know "details" but knew who was vulnerable and kinda in the specific area. Other thins that I would experience that I actually enjoyed was the good feelings and emotions left behind by people truly happy. The house I live in was just chocker filled with great emotions and feelings and love. The 3 homes I owned previously were all divorce situations and they homes felt empty compared to this home. I have also met some of the previous owners (all are alive) and they came back to visit because of the great memories they had in the home.

Also, being afraid of the unknown is very understandable. When I first came into "sensing" something being around me but not seeing it was absolutely terrifying. When I started "smelling" things that weren't there I was afraid. When I finally saw a spirit is was a calm and gentle thing almost dream like. I was able to go right to bed afterwards whereas the first two things would freak me out so much that I was terrified and couldn't sleep and for days after I would be scared of a possible repeat feeling or smell.

All of my experiences have been positive with the exception of one nasty spirit. After I sold one home my husband and I rented his business partners lakeside cottage until we found and bought our next home. Apparently this spirit only liked men and let me know in many ways. I approached this spirit like he was a bully. I wasn't afraid of him because of my previous experience with a nice live-in ghost. He was evil but I don't know the extent of what his life experiences were before he died. Total jerk though! This is a good story and good for another paragraph or two at a later date.

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Ooo, can't wait to hear that one! The only time I smelled things that others didn't was when I had seizures. Yuck, glad I don't get that anymore. I'm sure it adds to the intrigue of a spiritual experience, though.

(Zone 7a)

And like a silly fool. I'll be reading your scary story at night. LOL I'm glad your experiences, as a whole, have been positive.

KW, dying would be bad, I agree. Funky smells are part of some tumors. Is that what you had? Or just the lesion?

Yorkshire,

I am still lurking around and thoroughly enjoying reading everyones experiences. Thank you all, you've told some amazing stories.
Mothermole and DustyDS - I am 'agog' at your experiences and you tell your stories so well that I can actually 'see' the characters in them :)

I don't have anything to report just now. Life is handing me some difficulties right now and I'm busy getting through each day.......but, I don't doubt that I will be back to add another experience as soon as something happens.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm still looking in and enjoying this wonderful thread.

Thank you all!!

Mole – I know I have intuitive ability. I’ve had ghostly experiences all my life. I’m not to keen on it though. It scares and unsettles me. I don’t mind it when it helps me like my GA or SG, but not ghosts and spirits invading my living space in a negative manner.

(Zone 7a)

Terri, good to see we still have some lurkers. ☺ Glad to have you back.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Glad to see you Terri! Mole I can't wait for 'the rest of the story' Dang I miss that man.

Anyway, I had a dream last night and was going to post it before I forgot, but had a dr appt before I came in this morning and lost it somewhere in there. Oh well, seems like I was riding a horse... A camel! I was riding a camel! I remember... me and Dave were doing one of those horse ride tours where they guide you through mountains and on the beach and what-not, but this tour was on camels! We were riding camels on one of those tours through the Ozarks here in AR. I know where this one came from, we've talked about doing that as there are many horseback tours around up there, and if you drive on Hwy 65 someone who owns about 50 head of cattle also own 1 camel, it's the craziest thing I've ever seen passing by a cattle ranch. I must have been thinking about that camel and a horseback tour we want to do.

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

crissy - Do that camel ride if you ever get a chance!! It's fun LOL!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL!! There's an elephant sanctuary in the Ozarks too! I'd LOVE that!

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

I rode them when we lived in Dhahran. We had way too much fun LOL!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I bet! I was having a ball in my dream!

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Sheesh, all we have in KY are horses, lol.

Deer Park, IL(Zone 5b)

Sharona-did you ride horses or elephants? My kids rode both camels and elephants. They ride horses on a regular basis and told me the camel wasn't as comfortable-it jerked a lot. I thought it was cool though!

Sharona (again): What you wrote sounds a lot like I felt before I actually "saw" the main spirit in my home in MA. While I owned a home that was only 7 years old at the time I actually purchased it seemed to be a "hub" of spiritual activity. I would smell body odor and hear footsteps throughout my home yet I was there alone with my very small children. It got so bad that I talked my husband into a very protective and well trained guard dog (in addition to my other dog). After a while you start to feel crazy because it always me who feels it or smells it or hears it. I was soooooooo happy when my husband heard it and then eventually noticed things being misplaced in his office and turing up in weird places. While he wasn't as in tune as I was at least him making small connections made it easier for me to discuss it with him. If I were to guess how many spirits frequented that home I would guess about 7. There were certain patterns that repeated with some of the activity. One ghost with the body odor always visited in October and had a routine of travel through my home. I almost felt like he was carrying out a job or something in my home. He really terrified me the first two visits (annual visits). I would hear footsteps and would try to track the steps thinking I had a robber in my home (but no dog barking????). Then all of a sudden I would hit a "wall" of stinky body odor.

The main ghost in that house is the one that was there all the time. She was the one I always felt like was watching me when I was in certain areas of the house. When I would go to bed she was always standing in the door frame watching me. I didn't see her there but always felt her there. Although I never saw her I did have some information about her. I knew she was a female. I felt she was older with dark hair. I never told my friends or family (not even my niece) because I didn't want her to be nervous to come and visit me (she lived in Chicago and I was in MA). Anyway, she did eventually come to visit and right away told me there was a spirit in my home. But I am racing a little ahead of myself. Often my young sons would say hello to "no one" on the main staircase in my home. As my first born grew older he started telling me that the lady told him not to climb his furniture. He once told me she made the car bed move up and down in his room and was scared of the "ride". Then as my second son grew older he told me similar things that this lady would watch him like a babysitter. This was in baby talk so it was hard to get it out of him. My sons are now 7 & 9 and remember her. Almost every day they said "hi" to apparently no one on that stairs and one day I asked my then 3 year old who he was saying hi to and he would point to nothing and say "the lady". And I would say "what lady" and he would point and say "the lady there". I used to get pretty spooked out from that and wondered if something was wrong with my son. My one year old would say in a cheery little voice and wave "Hi-ya" to no one on the stairs even more frequently than the 3 year old.

It wasn't until we decided to move back to Illinois after being on a trip to visit my family in Chicago that the activity and the feelings in the house changed. It felt like doom and gloom. I could tell it wasn't "our doom and gloom" the lady's feelings. My niece told me to just talk out loud and explain to the lady that I needed to move (my niece said this woman was a child caretaker a long time ago in the vicinity of where I lived) to be near my family. It was shortly after that one night I woke up to go and check on my kids at 3:00am (such a mommy thing to do . . .) and I saw the lady on the staircase as if it were a photograph of her standing still. She looked sad. This was on the way to my kids room and on the return I saw her again but this time she was walking down the stairs as if in slow motion. I felt totally okay with this and for once was not afraid of her. I walked in my room and woke my husband up and told him what I saw and while I was able to go right to sleep he was awake half the night worrying about it. It's funny thinking about that now.

Anyway, I asked this spirit not to stare at me or come off the stairs otherwise she would have to leave my home. She would do well for a while and then would slowly slip back into her old habits and I would have to tell her my rules again. She almost felt like a friend who wanted to watch my kids with me. She wasn't bad in any way.

It took us about 3 months to get the house ready to be put on the market. We had a few lookers and then this one family walked in the house and it was so intuitively clear that they were not only going to buy the house but that they would have a bunch of kids in this house and my "lady on the stairs" liked them a lot. After meeting them I knew they were going to be looking at a few other houses in the area and wouldn't hear from them for about a week. Each night I dreamt that this woman was going to be gardening in the yard in a big way and would be pregnant many times over here. I kept seeing her pregnant with other babies in high chairs and some grown up a bit.

So when the woman called a few days later and asked if she could come back and see the house again I told her about my dreams. She almost started to cry because she was having serious fertility problems and that yes she was a big gardener and yes they were going to make us an offer. Anyway, she came out again and took some measurements and told me about their big plans for the yard (they sounded amazing . . .). Long story short, they bought the home and have lived there 5 years and have had 4 kids since being there. I don't know if she feels the spirit there but I know the spirit was happy about these new owners coming to live there. No more doom and gloom only excitement!

Enough for now I need to end here!

The only camel I've seen is that one that guy owns. It's about 3 hours North from here. If you didn't drive down that exact highway you'll never know it exists, unless someone told you about it because they drove by and seen it.

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Wow, Mole, I like the happy ending to the weirdness in that house! Did you tell the new owner about the invisible babysitter?

(Zone 7a)

KW asked exactly what I was going to ask.

Yorkshire,

Mole, such a lovely story. It kind of reminded me of what happened around my own children when they were very young. Our spirit wasn't a lady but a small child, but my youngest child would see and talk to her little friend quite often.

Thank you for sharing your story.

No I never said anything. I didn't want to scare the buyer away. The unknown is so frightening. Also, there are different rules in MA about disclosure and ghosts and I didn't really want to go down that path . . . I could see if it was a horrible thing in the house but this wasn't that.

About 3 or 4 months after we moved into this rental, we started hearing noises. But we never mentioned it to each other. One night my hubby ( at that time) was at work and my daughter was in her basement/bedroom asleep when she heard a noise. I was asleep, she woke me up to tell me she heard a noise. I told her it was just the house settling. She said it sounded more like a door closing. A few weeks later we went camping. While we were gone, stepson broke into house so that he could have a party. He was at the store buying beer and told a friend to go ahead and go to the house it was unlocked. When Danny (stepson) got to the house Friend was still in his truck. Danny said why didn’t you go in? Friend said that he saw someone looking out the window. Danny asked what window, it was our bedroom window that looked over driveway. Danny said there’s no one home. Friend described what the old man looked like. So they went on into the house and of course there was nobody there. Later on in the evening they are sitting around drinking and talking when they hear the door to my daughter’s B/B shut and footsteps going down the stairs. Immediately the boys got up to see who was going down the stairs. Danny told each boy to take an entrance door (we had 3) and check it out. Nothing!!! They come back in the house to find Friend’s dog a aggressive German Shepard staring off into space and shaking like a leaf. They didn’t hear anything else the rest of the evening. Later on that evening some girls came over. Danny started telling them about the ghost. Had their attention, lol. One of the girls asked if the ghost was to come in, where will it come in at? Danny pointed to a window and when he did the outside light came on ( it was on a timer) lol, scared the girls half to death. Later the girls are in the bathroom. Danny had snuck down the B/B stairs to where you could see the drawers that were in the bathroom wall, one of the drawers had tp in it. Girl 1 says I need some tp and right at that time Danny pushed the drawer open, LOL. Those girls ran out of that bathroom thru the house, told Danny and friends, “See Ya” they were scared out of their wits.

After we came back from camping I told hubby, “Someone has been here” and right about that time Danny calls. “Hey Dad, did you know you have a ghost?”. After he got off the phone and told me why Danny had called, we then started telling each other the noises we heard. My daughter went to stay with my mom and wouldn’t come home. Thru the next few weeks we started noticing a lot of things. More noises at night and sometimes thru the day. One day I was sitting on the couch watching tv when I felt a cold air across the front of me and saw foot prints go across the living room. I had just finished vacuuming and it was deep shag so the imprints were very visiable. Then one morning I came out of the bathroom walked into my bedroom and on my freshly made up bed was an imprint of a body on my side of the bed, lol. Both times I’m home alone. My daughter would not come back home so we decided to move out. Three days before we were to move out, I had just gotten in bed, when all of a sudden I could hear doors and drawer opening and shuting. This kept up for about 15 minutes finally I hollered “Knock it off!!!” Quite for a second or two tehn “BANG” slammed the door shut then quite no more noises the rest of the night.

So we contacted the landlady and told her what was going on. At first she didn’t believe us so she contacted peeps about ghosts. Hired a medium to come to get rid of the ghost. When the medium got to landlady house she preceeded to tell them all she knew about the pictures that were on the staircase. It was interesting to hear. (Too long to tell for this) When they got to our house the medium would not even walk in the house. She said they was 3 ghost and she could not make them leave by herself. She came back the next day with two more mediums. She said the first two ghost left right away, but the old man was a real stinker and it took 45 minutes for him to leave. What we found out later was, the lady that lived in that house had died in the MB on Christmas day, and her ghost stayed behind because of the old man. She didn’t want him there, but he had more power over her. She told the mediums that she loved all of my house plants and was really pleased with how I kept the house looking. And also come to find out she was the grandmother to a friend I went to school with.

(Zone 7a)

Wow and wow and neat!!! What a great story! I am curious about the pictures and their stories, too.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yea there were some oldies, ya know ancestors. And that woman told them when they were born, what kind of a life they had, and when they died. The medium told the landlady that one of her daughters was in some sort of trouble, and that she needed help asap. Come to find out she was into drugs really bad and close to dying. They did not know that at all. When they went to my house and opened the basement door ( I still don't know why they went thru that door and not the main entrance) the medium stopped and when she said she could do it, the landlord was thinking to himself "Great not she's going to charge me more", the medium turned to him and said "No I'm not, there are 3 ghosts here and I can't do this by myself" Right then and there the landlord reliazed that this woman was for real she had just read his mind.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

My cousin has a story that will raise the hair on your neck. I will have send it to me in an email then I will post it.

There is a bar in my home town that I used to go to every now and then, that had a woman ghost. Bartender was a close friend. One night after all the peeps are gone (except for bartender and 2 friends of his), doors locked, bathrooms cleaned a woman walked out of the bathroom and out thru the closed & locked front door. Ronzo (bartender) and friends just sat there stunned at what they had just saw. Ronzo said just about every night after that she did the same thing.

(Zone 7a)

Oh, my! LOL That would be startling! Do they know who she might be?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh wow it's been so long, I can't remember for sure there were several different stories. You know how some peeps get carried away with these things, lol.

(Zone 7a)

I most certainly do! LOL

Deer Park, IL(Zone 5b)

Purp-loved your story. Rental houses-you just gotta love em . . . That evil haunted guy was in my rental home. I just found out from my now 19 year old niece (a different one than the one with abilities) that she had an encounter just like I had but had never shared with her or any of my nieces or nephews (I didn't want to scare them or influence them). This jerk-off would always be in the hallway in the basement that leads to the laundry room and the bathroom with a shower. I was there about 10 days and in the shower I had the "lovely" physical encounter of him placing his hand on top of my head and pushing down as if he were "dunking me under water" like in a swimming pool. The first time it was light in touch and I put my hand up to my head to feel what that was. The second time there was no mistaking it. I felt his hands all around the top of my head and much stronger pushing. I told him to ____ off and was very POed (trying to watch my language on this site). Funny that I wasn't afraid because I could feel he used all his energy to do those two movements and still it couldn't move me at all and it wasn't painful or anything (and I have a pinched nerve in my neck so I would feel pain easily). I was angry because he intruded on my personal space and whilst I was undressed. After that I declared WAR on him. I could feel his seething anger in the house all the time and I could tell he absolutely hated my big dog named Amy so I would purposely put her in that hallway all the time and I could hear scuffling and banging around (this dog is a very physical hunting dog that is very attached to me). The dog never cried or was hurt (he couldn't do anything physical because he tried with me in the shower and evidently also to my then 13 year old niece-pervert). The anger I would feel in the house with I had the dog down in his space was priceless. My husband would ask why I was smiling and I would ask if he could feel the anger and seething but he couldn't. I would tell "Jerk-Off" (the name I gave him) that if he misbehaved Amy was going to be spending a whole lot more time with him and that I think I will give her to the owners of the house and maybe get a few more dogs like her. . . The anger and tension would only worsen but he would leave me alone. But boy did he hate me being there. I kept feeling he didn't like or respect women and believed only men should be there.

The man who owns this cottage is my husbands business partner and his wife refuses to go up there. I told him about our experiences and he wasn't surprised because a lot of women don't like to go up there and it always is a "boys" weekend kinda place even though wives are always invited. His young daughter is starting to tell her Dad she doesn't want to go there anymore and while she can't tell him why I am pretty sure I know why. She's about 10 years old and is probably starting to look more mature and this guy hates women. I should go and visit there again soon to see what I feel up there now-5 years later. I still have the key and I know the owner wouldn't mind it. I can always bring Amy, the Wonder Dog. ;)

Oh, I forgot to say that while I never saw this guy as a person I did see him as a shadow on the wall as did my husband. He also has a smallish animal with him. I am guessing it is a dog by the shadow movements and it's small size but am only guessing. They both hand around in that hallway and bathroom.

BTW: what is "peeps" I'm ignorant to this term or shortening of words.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

LOL, peeps is short for people. Our ghost never showed himself to us. The medium told the landlady that Danny's friend had decribed the old man to a T. Ghosts congregate and when the lady of that owned our rental passed away then this man and little 12 year old boy "moved in". The lady didn't want to leave, because she didn't know what the old man would do to her house. The little boy never wanteds to be there in the first place. I did find out that the old man died unexpectedly and the little boy died from a severe blow to the head, they all lived in the sam neighborhood but didn't know each other.

I forgot to say. A year or two later some peeps that lived in the house after us, their son was friends with my daughter. She and some friends had gone over there for a party which was in what used to be her bedroom. The kid that was living there started telling them about the weird noises he kept hearing, LOL. So that old man never left after all, or another one moved in. I couldn't beleive when my daughter told me that.

Wow, a lot has be posted since I was last here. That was a lot to catch up on...creepy and woohoo scary. ^_^

After reading those, this will be mild.

My mom(who is on vacation in California right now) folds the towels in three length-wise; this fact must be known or what transpired, a few times, during the night won't be surprising. Well, last night(just like what happened a few nights ago as well), I brushed my teeth, washed my face and Ieft the towel messed up on the rack. During the night I used the facilities and again left the towel messed up(completely open). This morning(and as before) I got up and to my shock, I found the towel was folded neatly in threes and was hanging on the towel rack. I am alone in the house. I about jumped out of my skin the first time this happened. I wish it would wash the night dishes, too... :-D

I've heard the voices again, even though I'm now back in my room. I still can't make out what they are saying. Though one sounded very angry the other night. It was a deep, gruff, male voice. I've also heard some footsteps coming from the kitchen area, moving to my bedroom doorway. I then had the distinct feeling of being watched. It lasted for maybe ten minutes, then the feeling slowly faded away.

Keep on writing everyone. I love to read about everyone's experiences.

Maybe whoever folded the towel was the one who taught your Mom to do it...her mother or grandmother. Freaky!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Every time I read this I remember more and more. After we found out there was a ghost my brother and his two youngest kids came over to visit one day. He had heard the ghost story already and we were talking about it as I was showing him the house. We had gone down to my daughters room (she had a waterbed) and my neice and nephew ran and jumped on the bed. When they did it disturbed the ghost and it "flew" right thru my brother. He just about freaked, lol. The hair on his arms was sticking straight up, and he said he felt a cold sensation go through him. It was funny his eyes were as big as saucers,LOL.

(Zone 7a)

It's daylight and I've got "people" bumps! LOL

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

Hmm....are you a goose?? ;)

Deer Park, IL(Zone 5b)

Moe: If your not happy with your ghost would you please direct her to my home. I really could use a hand with my towels. My kids swim on a swim team and I do a ton of towels each week and I HATE to fold them. Why is it I had the pervert shower ghost in my bathroom and you got the helpful folding towel ghost in your bathroom????

Try tape recording the house and see if you get any EVP's.

BTW: Did anyone here watch Ghost Hunters this past Wednesday? It was a new show and it was great. They were in Betsey Ross' home and also a textile factory. I really enjoyed it.

(Zone 7a)

I watched that show a couple of times but can't get into it for some reason.

Deer Park, IL(Zone 5b)

kwan-yeah some of the shows are much better than other shows. Wednesday's show was great. Do you watch that other ghost show on Friday nights (the British one)? I am not fond of that one very much. It is monotonous and full of itself at times.

(Zone 7a)

No, I don't watch any of them.

Deer Park, IL(Zone 5b)

Kwan-some of the investigative work on Ghost Hunters is very intriguing to me. I wish I knew about some of that stuff when I lived in my haunted home in MA with the lady on the stairs. I wonder if any EVP's would be heard or if I could sense energy with any of those gadgets. Oh well, I'll never know.
