My ex husband did that to me one time. I woke up and his face was an inch from mine. I screamed bloody murder LOL! All I saw were green eyes. He said he was trying to listen to what I was talking about in my sleep.
I think I scared him as much as he scared me LOL!
Spooks and ghosts and wheeping ladies...oh my Pt 4
LOL I think that's happened to all of us. Hubby bends down to kis you goodbye just as you're waking and...BAM!!! Ooops, sorry.
ROFL, I guess that would be kinda startling!
LOL That's hilarious! Oh HELLO THERE!! For some reason that's never scared me. I wasn't close to this guys face, he was sleeping with his head on the pillow and I was sitting in the middle of the bed, so it shouldn't have startled him that much. LOL I should have been 3 inches from his face, he would have really freaked out! Instead of breaking up the next day he would've broken up that night and saved me some of my precious time! ROFL
HEY!!!!
Is this Thread going "South" by any chance?????
Lets get back to the spooky encounters part of it--OK? I loved reading all the personal, ghostly experiences----the ones that give me shivers....The Ghosts and Spirits part of it.....
NOT the "Barf syndrome" ones....OK!
Getting to be the shades of the "Best and Worst" posts....Yeah! Yeah! I know,,,,,,
Gita
LOL Hey Gita!!! Any of your own stories?
kwanjin,
Nope! I do not have any "out of psyche experiences".....I guess I am not so "connected"....
OR--I am a lot more down-to-Earth to think about my dreams in THAT way....
I DO dream a lot--but I do not feel my dreams are worth posting or sharing,,,,Then again--I do not share all this kind of stuff anyway..as it is open to one's own interpretations.
I guess I could always make "mountains out of molehills" just for entertainment.....NOT!
I would really love to get on a Post where people can truly interpret dreams....That would interest me! Do we have any hones type, serious psychics on here?????
Gita
That's too bad.
Can you start a new thread and ask? I don't know of any psychics except a local woman who does readings for people.
I only know of 2 women, but they are somewhat local in my area. one does psychic readings the other does tarot, they're not on DG.
Do these ladies like gardening? You could always invite them to join.
And--being the perennial skeptic--i am not sure I would believe any of it any way......
I have this terminal, questioning mind......WHY? WHY????? WHY?????

Gita - Here is a link to a thread about what dreams mean...
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/949915/
I had two dreams yesterday morning. I remember the first, the second was similar, but not the same.
I was standing at a door in our house. I heard scary breathing on the other side. I kept moving closer to the door. Then I heard "this isn't real" and woke up.
A little creepy.
That's creepy. I dreamed last night that I dropped my glasses on the tile floor and the metal piece between the eyes broke in half, so I taped them together with masking tape and wore them to work and the mall LOL!
Nerd glasses!!! LOL
That is creepy, Sharon. I'm curious about that one.
I had a dream the other night that I don't remember most of but what I do remember kind of freaked me.
I lent my truck to my DD. I was flying above her to make sure she was okay and I watched her crash. She sort of slid sideways and hit other vehicles. She was okay but what happened after is what got to me. There were dogs in a truck she hit and they were thrown out right behind the truck. Vehicles were piled up all over each other. One car on top of some others started sliding off backwards and pushed the truck with the dogs. The dogs couldn't help themselves because they were injured and all I could do was watch as the truck was pushed back on top of them. I woke up then and it still gives me the creeps thinking about this dream. There were other things going on in the crash, too, but this is what I remember the most.
I called Crystal (DD) right away and she was okay in real life, too.
Sharon you might have ghosts. Both of those would freak me out!
I just happened upon this thread about paranormal experiences and wondered if I should post here because I might lose my credibility in my other favorite areas of Dave's. . .
Firstly, I don't have a ton of time (because I have tons of experiences) right now because I have a doctors appointment this morning. But I will tell you that all my life my Mom had great "gut" instincts as well as encounters with spirits. I got so tired of hearing her stories I used to make fun of her and tease her because I doubted her. Seriously, if you don't have any personal experiences it seems like a cruel joke to have someone always declaring something happening to them that is impossible to explain.
For starters, I grew up in a family with both parents and 5 kids. Most of my Mom's encounters happened before I was born but when she was pregnant with my eldest brother and for a few years after. These were what I would call her "Major Haunting Years". The house she lived in definitely had something there. Occasionally something would happen to her every so often but not with the significance of that first house.
Fast forward to when I was in my early 30's. My sister's only daughter was about 7 years old and staying with me in my new home that I shared with my husband of one year at the time. She had recently started getting very emotionally and scared about everything and my sister would poo-poo her as the best way to cope with an emotional child. Well, Julie (the child) walked with me to meet my husband at the train station and started telling me about having a little girl following us to her right side that she could see out of the corner of her eye. I am thinking she is messing with her Auntie and I would lay along since I knew my sister didn't have the time or the energy to give her this attention (and I thought she needed the attention). So I asked her questions to ask the spirit and I encouraged her not to be afraid of another little girl and to see what she wanted. This was different for my niece and she mentally asked her what she wanted and the girl told her that we had her dog (I had a black lab cross dog walking with us). She told us it was her dog and gave my niece the name of her dog. My niece was still scared of her and then told me that this girl smelled horrible and that she wanted to be sick. I encouraged my niece to ask her why she had a smell and the girl didn't seem aware of the fact the she had a smell. My niece slowly became a little more comfortable with looking at the girl head on instead of out of her corner of the eye and was able to describe her clothing and interact with her more. All I was doing was walking and listening amazed at what my niece's imagination came up with.
The long walk was about a mile each way and my husband didn't get off the train so I presumed he was on the next train (we didn't have plans to meet-I was just going to surprise him). So we walked back home with this alleged spirit girl in tow who was telling my niece a story about her last memories and about her two sisters and the dog. My niece kept telling me that the girl insisted my dog was her dog. I told my niece to tell her to go to the "light" like I had heard in the past on TV and stuff. I asked my niece to ask the girl to command the dog to do some tricks (my dog was very smart and knew how to do a lot of basic commands/tricks). Sure enough, my dog stops and starts to look directly in one directions. He sits, he gives paw (but to no one) he lays down, he starts to look like he is playing/chasing someone. I told my niece to tell her to stop so that the dog doesn't get hurt by a car. The dog stopped. I really didn't know what to think. It felt surreal.
By the time we got home my niece was getting frightened that this girl was still with us and my niece wanted her to stop and not come onto our property. Julie told her to leave but this girl was sure that the dog was hers and followed into the house and this made my niece start to cry and get worried. I put the dog in the basement (we were redoing the kitchen and it wasn't clean or safe for the dog). My niece kept telling me that the girl whom we knew her name to be Sarah was in the basement playing with the dog. I tried to discourage my niece from thinking about it but it wasn't happening because she could hear her and feel her presence and the smell was overwhelming. I didn't feel, see or smell anything. I finally looked online and started reading about possible things she could do to encourage this girl to move on (and out of my home) and had my niece talk to her again and make her see the clothing differences, the electronic differences and other changes in the environment that wasn't around from the time I suspected this spirit was from (1930's). Eventually she understood and said she wanted her Mother and sister and my niece told her to go to the light and that was the last we heard from her.
After the experience my niece had shared the details of what was going on in her house. There were evil spirits in her home (she felt) whereas this little girl was like a "lost spirit" with no agenda. She also said her mother made things difficult by denying anything could be there in her home. Still, I was not sure what to think but felt that if this is all true I would be a real loser of an Auntie NOT to believe her. And if this weren't true I should be a good Auntie and support her, listen to her, and give her time and attention if is is what she really needed.
So I took her to a bookstore and we bought some paranormal help books. I told her to let her inner self pick out the right books to understand things in her life. She said she heard a voice tell her which books were authentic and which were not. She also told me that her inner voice indicated that I needed to read one. It was called the Physic Pathway. I read all the books I bought her to make sure they were appropriate but the one book that she said her inner voice told her that I needed was by far the best at helping increase and open your ability to communicate with spirits. It was a "workbook" on activities that help you to keep your mind open. Eventually, I too had my own experiences that I can share at another time. Whereas my niece's abilities are like a High End Mercedes I am more like a bicycle. . .
Anyway, that is my first post here and I will be back to talk some more. Also, I did say sorry to my Mom about teasing her and not believing her all of my life. She said she knew one day I would come into it just like she did-out of the blue with no warnings!
Your mother was, indeed, right! Very, very interesting. This is the right place to post and WELCOME!!!
Some come and go, others stick around longer than some. We make no judgements and love a good story. We believe you because it's happened to us. Waiting for the next incident...
Oh my Mothermole, I'm sorry, what is your name? I'm Christine. You know, your niece could be a great help on one of those tv shows, there's one that has this small group of young adults (kids) who take calls from people on ghosts and evil spirits, they go to the house in question and rid it of the spirits, how old is she now? She should really do this, she'd be a great help to those in need.
I don't voice my stories either as probably no one would believe me. I have learned that when I have these feelings to voice them out, so when it happens everyone knows that I already knew that. Like the story below, I was telling everyone I knew that was going to happen, when it did all of my friends were freaking out. I told them I've always had feelings like that now and again.
I'll get feelings of when something is going to happen from time to time, I have my whole life and can't remember most of them now. When I was in my mid 20's I lived in this nice apartment complex, it was small with the buildings in a square with a small pond, swimming pool, and mail boxes in the middle. For about a month I kept getting this feeling that one of the apartments was going to burn and just hoped it wasn't the one underneath me. It was like I'd get home from work and be walking up the stairs and just think, "One of these ground apartments is going to burn, just hope it isn't the one under me. There's nothing I can do to stop it." I thought this almost daily for about a month, then it happened. Someone across the pond (very small, narrow pond) on the ground floor left a stove burner on with bacon grease sitting on top of it while they went to a funeral. Gutted their apartment, killed their dog and bird, and damaged the apartment above them. I was home when the fire broke out and what a mess, I'm just glad that no one was home in that whole building.
When we moved here to Arkansas April of 2007 my 2001 Nissan Sentra started having problems so I traded it in for a new base model Toyota Tacoma 4x4 in June of 2007 that my husband talked me into that I didn't really want. I wanted a Tacoma 4x4 but not a base model. I kept thinking that someone was going to rear end me. Every time I would drive that specific truck, I thought, "I'm going to get into a bad wreck in this thing." Then thought that I hated the truck anyway and since it was paid off if I did get into a bad wreck it would total the truck without totaling me. Sure enough, 7 months after buying it in February 2008 a 22 year old rear ended me going about 60mph. Totaled the truck but I came out unscathed. Poor girl was bawling her eyes out even though she wasn't hurt either, and no one knew I hated the truck and didn't care that it was totaled so I kept saying it was going to be alright and to quit crying, they're just vehicles and very replaceable. I asked her what she did for a living as we were in the ER waiting room together, turns out she was an insurance adjuster for Frito Lay and the 2 month old 2008 Chevy Uplander she was driving was a company vehicle. She kept saying that Frito Lay would take care of me, she had called them when we were in the ambulance. (Then I knew why she was bawling so bad, her job was at stake and that was her only vehicle.) My truck actually appreciated in value, I paid $23,000 and got a check for $26,000, plus a $7000 settlement and all of the medical expenses paid. I've never seen the girl again, I'm sure she lost her job. I now drive a 2008 top of the line Nissan Rogue and absolutely Love It!
Hey, Crissy, what's wrong with the Tacoma? Huh? Huh? I have one and it's my dream vehicle!!! LOL I'm glad no one was hurt in the crash and I hope she didn't lose her job.
Seriously, though, I think everyone has feeling like these and they should pay attention to them. We're taught at a young age to disregard them as childish fantasies and imagination. Not true in a lot of cases.
Mothermole - That's an interesting story! Wow! My mom was sensitive and I am too, but I try to curb mine.
crissy - I've been talking to another lady about the dreams I have. I think it's my guardian angel that is waking me up. She agrees. It's not my voice I hear saying things to me - it's someone else's. I have these dreams sporadically. Sometimes night after night after night then nothing for months. Then they start again.
Celia - I've learned to trust my gut instincts pretty well. Have you ever read the book The gift of fear? It's about people who survived what would have been tragic ends just by trusting their gut instincts. I just went to the bookcase to get the book and "it's gone". I don't know where, but the book isn't there anymore. Hmmmmm
Wow, mothermole, that is an interesting story--got any more? I like your comparison using the high-end Mercedes and the bicycle, LOL.
It was a base model, 5 speed manual (which I love by the way) but it wouldn't climb an overpass unless I downshifted to 3rd gear, it was a stupid little truck. It had a small 4 cylinder in it, I wanted a Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4 with a 6 cylinder 6 speed manual transmission lol! I test drove one after the wreck and it had all the power I needed but Dave said, "We don't need two trucks. We need something that's covered and easy to get into." I thought about a truck with a shell or tunnel cover but that takes away the ease of getting in the back, so I got a Crossover and am very glad I did. Dave has a 2005 Toyota Tundra TSS, and he's not wrong, we don't need two trucks.
I'm thinking of getting a sportier car and letting Darrell have the truck. Something like a Saturn Sky, or Nissan 350Z Roadster.
I'll take the 350Z, thank you very much! Those are bad little cars. I've thought about getting another car when Dave's truck is paid off this August, but we need to get on our feet a little more and get past this recession to make sure he's not going to get laid off, then I'll splurge. I need a car for every mood.
I'm back from the doctor's appointment. Everything alright-I hurt my foot gardening in September-I thought it was minor but it was more serious than I thought.
My Sharona: That voice is your spirit guide(SG) that you hear. You are lucky that you can hear it as being different than your own voice. My SG sounds just like me and it is confusing at times. I will sometimes think to myself, "did I just think that up" or "where the heck did that idea come from". You can have one or multiple SG's. I also like to think of the SG as my Guardian Angel. Many times I have steered clear of trouble because I listened to that little voice. MANY times!!! A lot of people listen to that voice inside them but aren't aware of what they are hearing.
That book that I wrote about called The Psychic Pathway is an excellent book for anyone (with or without experience). I was able to hear that inner voice better after reading it. Below is the link for the book at Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Psychic-Pathway-Workbook-Reawakening-Voice/dp/0517884070/ref=pd_bbs_sr_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236112398&sr=8-5
I have read the whole book and I don't get into all parts of the book like the religion because I am a Strong practicing Catholic. However, the concentration techniques and meditations really do help connect you to the spiritual side. I took the book on vacation and 10 days later I had a lot of different experiences and had a lot of fun with it. You do have to practice to make it work on a regular basis. I do not practice so any spiritual connections I have are more luck than anything. I do get excellent mental images of people online, especially if they are like minded to myself. Also, one spiritually connected person can see and feel others that are the same. All that other person has to do is touch me and I get all kinds of information off of them. I pick up all the emotional highs and lows of similiar people. In some ways it can make me feel very sick if these people are very emotionally down or low. I often get away from these people because they make me feel ill and dizzy. It's like they are draining me of my mental and physical energy.
My dentist and I have this amazing connection. The first time she touched me I saw "everything" that mattered the most to her. She is trying to have a baby but I know that she needs to leave her husband and find another partner. I can't tell her that though. She has to come to that conclusion herself. There's nothing wrong with her husband, it's just that this isn't the man she is supposed to have kids with.
My niece is 19 years old and at college. When she was in her early teens, she was invited to go on a world cruise as a child psychic as a paid celebrity. Unfortunately, her parents do not support her and kinda understand her (or say they understand her) but they aren't that open and there was no way she was going on this cruise. Julie had to block her abilities in her mid teens. The hormonal changes and all the school work loads combined with that skill were way too much for her to handle. She does have the most amazing talent-like no one I have ever seen on TV. If you were to ask her to contact someone who passed away she was able to do it-like a telephone connection. If this person spoke another language, Julie would get her spirit guide to get a translator for her or just repeat the sounds of the words she heard. This kid never studied a language until she was 15 and she learned German and I have heard her a number of languages to foreign born people who asked her for a reading before she turned 15 years old.
I asked her for a few readings when she was 12 years old (as a practice exercise) and I had her connect with a good friend from my High School who passed away when she was 21 years old in a car accident. I remember really being surprised at the first thing she said because she was embarrassed and didn't want to say what she heard (she second guessed herself and was trying to make sense of something she shouldn't). The word was Yahza (spelling?? Yow zha ???)!
I completely forgot this girl used to say that word when she would see me in the halls at school (to be silly). That is what she said to my niece in a loud voice and my niece couldn't understand that. There were a few things in that connection that I totally forgot about this girl. Insignificant things that didn't really matter in the big picture but made this person uniquely her. I also had my niece contact my father who had died about 7 years before. He had said that he visited all of the grandchildren when they were born and could look at us through a type of viewing system. But the longer he was deceased the less time he would be able to do that. He told my niece it was a token type system that helped him transition over to his new life. I found that comforting. He also told my niece that heaven and hell are not the right terms but it is more like different categories of people. There is no punishments but just separations.
I will come back and visit this site again. Go to the library and check that book out if you want to learn more about improving or developing these skills. You probably won't be like my niece but somewhere in between. If you had some experiences prior to the book I would guess that you would do even better. BTW: I have looked at this authors other books and none are as useful or as good as the one I wrote about at the top of this post.
Mole
Did I scare everyone away with way too much information? I didn't mean to do that if I did.
LOL! Nope - I'm in the middle of trying to pack up the house for our 4 mile move - ugh - and right now at work!
I had a couple of dreams last night. In one I was watching a horse run. (not bizarre YAY!)
The other was kind of like seeing a persons outline with charts and graphs on it. Something you would see at the dr office, but not. Not creepy just different. I have a Dr appointment tomorrow.
LOL Me either! Just been busy at work all day, but what else is new lol!
Mole I find that kinda of scary but kind of neat at the same time. I don't have any powers like that, that I know of anyway lol!
I gotta get off of here and get more work done. I've told it and told it to do itself but it just won't listen to me.
Oh, dang, Mothermole! I read this yesterday and didn't have time to respond. Sorry about that. Does your niece have plans to restart giving readings? And does your dentist know about your connection with her?
For one, these are not "powers" . Nothing special with me just a learned ability to focus on things I feel and see in my head. How I get my information is in the form of pictures mentally, from either something I experienced in the past that has a strong emotion attached to it or a picture to represent something. For example if I were supposed to be afraid of something/someone I might get a mental imagine that is very strong emotionally to me that would make me almost jump back and take notice of everything around me. Then it is up to me to equate the information to my surroundings (that is the hard part). I sincerely believe that at one time all people relied on this ability for survival but as we evolved into more complex people we relied on intelligence more and less on instincts. Sometimes I get information from hearing words in my mind and I will think to my self, "where the heck did I get that idea" and then I realize it's probably not my idea but more of a SG thing. Sometimes I have a great deal of knowledge about a certain subject without any exposure or training on it and I surprise myself, but afterwards the information fades.
Yes, my dentist knows about our connection and I have since taught her how to pick up on information from people as well. Unknowingly she already was doing this to a small degree. If you find you are connected to someone like this they also have a degree of skill in the same area. I helped my dentist to learn not to pick up all the negative emotion from her patients because it can make a person sick and depressed. She says she feels a lot better "blocking" some of her patients. I recommended that same book to her and she got it on Ebay and loved it a ton. She like some areas better than other areas but really enjoyed it.
Another friend also read this book and came away with a different skill set. She learned to see auras through her meditations (I tried that exercise in the book but nothing happened for me). My friend is really good at the auras now. She never saw them in her life and three days after reading the book and trying the meditations she was reading auras. I thought that was pretty cool.
Mole
Another thing that people need to know is that when I get information or feel I am getting information from a dream my memory is fleeting on retaining that information because I did not experience the information. I hope that makes sense. When I got that above mentioned book (workbook) part of the book is keeping a journal near you at bedtime so that when you wake up you can journal your dreams immediately because you will forget them. There was a period of about a month where a girl kept coming to me in my dreams telling me all kinds of information and wanted a message given to her Mother (she had died in the 1980's) and after about a month of this I started losing interest because I was so tired of waking up. I was finally getting to the point of having her name and more traceable information and I was too tired to Journal it at 3:00am. She stopped coming to me after one night of not writing it all down. I think she moved onto another sensitive person to try and help her deliver her message.
Another thing I might add, I would not recommend getting a reading from anyone. NOT getting a reading is better because by knowing information it could change the outcome of how things are supposed to go in your life. And with the way information is shown to me it would be very easy to make a mistake interpreting what I see at times. Why would you want to risk it? Anyway, life is all about the changes and surprises around the cornor.
oh, sorry about the paragraph mess up of the above post. My son was bouncing around the computer and must have hit a key and moved my curser.
Mole – I think it is so cool that you and your niece have harnessed this talent. I’m not so sure I want to harness it. I don’t mind knowing/feeling stuff for myself. Dealing with the ghost in my previous house was experience enough LOL!
I had my sensitivity surgically removed along with my short-term memory, when a surgeon removed a hemorrhaging lesion. I have no more intuition! Weird feeling.
Wow, Ky. That would be weird. Can he remove my mean streak? O, better yet, my lazy streak? LOL
Seriously, it would be strange not to have those feelings. Like losing a finger?
I've never heard of that. Like Celia said - that would be weird. I can't imagine it. Do you remember (long term) what it was like to have it?
I do remember what it was like. Yes, I did lose a part of myself. Kinda like losing your depth perception, I guess. You can only see what's on the surface, nothing more. I just started remembering some of my dreams again a couple years ago. Before the surgery, I was having lucid dreams. Ah, well, beats dying, I guess...
I bet it definitely beats dying. I think it would be difficult to do things, like driving. How do you remember where you were going?

I've had that issue, but it only lasts a second, then I remember, lol.
I wanted to say in the last post but got interrupted in the middle that I have that issue, have a bunch of places to go and get home and realize I forgot half of them lol!
