Today's Weather in Your Garden - 38

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Sunny day starting at 15º. West wind not very strong around 5mph. Looks like 5-6 inches of new snow to top off the foot plus already on the ground. I really would like to see some bare dirt. This bright white everywhere is getting really old.

If it snowed 1/2" it would be too much. This repulsive weather has got me bound up.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Victor, did you notice that only 2 place's are in the negatives on that map? Of course Maine would HAVE to be on of them!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Bet you're not real happy about that 'distinction'!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It's gorgeous outside... the sun is shining, the snow is sparkling, puppy didn't want to come in he was having so much fun out there.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nope, not doing cartwheels over it thats for sure! It has warmed up a bit here and we weren't near that cold this morning anyway. Caribou is really way "Up North"..a few hours drive from here. lol

Caribou - there used to be an antique car junkyard up there. It would take us if I remember right 11 hours to drive up there. And I am only 1 state over from you!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

YES! It's almost in Canada! lol Your 4-5 hours from me and it's at least 4-6 from me...so yup about 9-11 hours for you!

DH wanted to go up there and I said " Your on your own" Poof

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Not in the Winter months will you catch me up there! NEVER!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just back from food shopping. Sun is nice, but it's still cold. Luckily, no wind. Wow - 4-6 hrs from you, Celeste! Maine keeps going.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

South Hamilton, MA

Not supposed to make 20 here tomorrow & we are not in Maine.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Same here. 7 for an overnight low and maybe 20 tomorrow.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good hot tub weather.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ouch!

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

we worked hard at being Florida today, but couldn't get past 54°.
No gloating here - we are sure to have another winter "event" before the month is over. They won't even say the S word on the weather report.

Have a seat?

the car pic I think I have seem that one before if I remember right it was taken on Prince Edward Island a few years ago after a real bad ice storm may have been 1998 march

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

I received these in an email from a friend who wanted to excoriate me for complaining about 10° back in December. She said they were all taken in Versoix, which is near Geneva. Leman Lake is in the background.
All I know is that looking at them made 54° seem downright tropical!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I've seen that one. Amazing.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

that is why I park in the garage lol dont even own a scrayper

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

I own a handy-dandy plasticized 3" drywall knife, which has a long enough handle so my pinkies don't get chilled. Last December I used a 30" garage broom which is not the best choice for our "Cascade Concrete".

Froze my hands off to get this a few minutes ago. Had to hang out the window.

I sure hope you weren't trying to scrape it off your window!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the moon is really bright here tonight as well.. great shot Victor

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Allison. The one (and only) nice thing about winter is that the sky is very clear. No humidity.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I know this is not the coldest day we have had... but man.. I am freezing tonight.. even the wood stove is offering no comfort.. thank god for the heating blanket

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes it is. Went to pick up my son about 8 and it was really cold. Wind picking up. So glad I got my pellets delivered the other day. Had none for five weeks. What a difference it makes. House is warmer and it saves money!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)
