I hadn't put a trade link up yet as it is only the beginning of Fab and still a little early to start it since some are just now starting seeds and such.
I had figured starting one come the beginning of March would be more in order so it wasn't too far in advance to get lost and be used for talking more so then trades.
A food thread will be started closer to the date along with any other threads needing to take place.

Lets get this back up to the top where folks can see it.

This morning I am going thru the innumerable containers of seeds that dear, sweet kenboy collected last year and the year before.
Guess how many have any sort of name on them?

I think I will take them out to the roadside in front and see what Ma Nature does with them

I haventy had much luck getting anything done for the RU but if you want a stepping stone Ill have it for you and we can worry about what to trade later on..they have to cure for 30 days before they can be used so if you do want one let me know and that goes for any one else that would like to trade for one too

these are my stepping stones..they are a 12x12 size I can do sunflowers, leaves, dragonflys, butterflys, moons, sun, star, snails, turtles and id f you have something special I can try to come up with a design..
shoot.. I dont know what to ask for lets worry abou that later okay??? you might not like it when you see it (just kidding).. we will work something out Im not worried and you shouldnt either.....
my next post will show the gazing ball.. I have to go take a pic of it...lol..
this is the mosaic gazing globe... its made with a bowling ball so it weighs a ton and does hurt when dropped on your foot.. (I speak from experience)
its been outside for almost a year now even thru hurricane Ike and still looks good
and a close up of it... let me know if you are interested .. they have to cure before going outside too not as long as the stepping stones but for a least 2 weeks
Josephine, Im happy to do one for you.. I got into an art gallery with some of my other art work and am trying to get caught up with what they are asking for. So along with everything else thats been happening time is tight ..but if I know about it I can plan for it and have it for you..
as far as what Id want in trade.... I dont know...lol...I have no Idea what its worth...lol.. this is just something I piddle with, not like my gallery work. We can talk about it at the round up.. I m not worried about it at all. I know it will work out in the end... Smiles!!!!

blkraven2, WOW! I would love a gazing ball too, but hesitate to ask you because that is a much bigger job than a stepping stone, and more costly for you to make. IF you have the time and inclination to do one more, I will pay you for it, because I have made them before when I felt better and given them away, and it is not cheap to get the ball, the mosaics, they are tedious to glue, and then grout. There is no few plants I have that would be equal value to it's worth.
Consider it, and decide whether you would like to do another for a price. If it will be too much work for you please just don't worry a bit. I would love to trade you for a stepping stone. I will have my list up Monday folks...Gosh my mind is still reeling from us all trading now, LOL! The RU isn't until May 16, still 3 months away!
Karen and Josephine consider them done.. I can do one for each of you.. and if any one wants stepping stones speak up!!!.Like I said Ill worry about what youll give me later.. Im still working on beds and have to get some trees cut down so even if its the fall RU or the next spring RU till I get anything Im fine with it...
3 months sounds like a long time but it will; be here before we know it...lol..
Ive been starting seeds and will probably have some to give a way.. I dont want to say for sure what Ill have but they are just common things.. I dont usually have much luck with seeds but I keep trying.. My sister gave me a mini greenhouse that will hold about 6 flats of stuff and Ive got it filled to the brim. Holly hocks, Marigolds, basil chives morning glories, moonflower and spanish flag are a few of what Ive started maybe the green house make a difference..lol..
BTW... YOU girls have to provide the stands for the gazing globes...lol..I made one for my sister and she placed it on the ground sorta picking out of her flowers.. I gave her a stand but she didnt like it on it ..go figure..lol..
just a thought.. I have black grout I can use if youd like.. I think the colors in the tiles would just POP out and if you put it on a black stand I think it would look cool Also it wouldnt show the dirt as much. I just take a hose to mine to clean it. I can do either black or white but thought Id give you a choice

Haha, thank you hon. I'll make sure you are compensated well somehow. I KNOW how much work goes into making one, it is a labor of love, I know, but very time and labor intensive. Appreciate you!
Karen you are very welcome.. it sorta mindless work actually.. gives me a change of pace from my weaving.. and I can do it while my Mom is here... which will be tomorrow for I dont know how long. Send me some patience will you??? (jk). she doesnt know it yet but Im dragging her to my pottery class and my master gardeners class.. shes got dementia, not real bad yet but I cant leave her alone and Im not missing classes for her..
Kathleen, I think black grout would be good, as you say the dirt wouldn't show as much, and i do have a dark gray stand, Thank you again very much.
