Well, we won't hear anything today then

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I'm off to see the Wizard, oops--make that postmistress!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

This may be a repeat for some of you...sorry, but I am running short on time today....

Gonna be one of those days (or more)...Curves with MIL this morning...not good as everything ached BEFORE I went...Mum isn't feeling well today at all and is staying in bed...need to check on her often, I am sure worried about her, ...Laura needs to talk to one of the Tenant Legal Groups today about their housing situation...her DH is working days today so I need to take Sage to her visitation with her mother...I got roped into doing a flower arrangement for one of Church Lady's Son's Memorial Service that is tomorrow...then my neighbor across the street (in her 90's) has her hair appointment in the morning, mum usually drives her, but I got news for her...she can't have her car keys back until the Doctor says she can drive as it is her right knee that is bad...that is probably going to be awhile...I try not to think about it but I fear this is just beginning of a very long and difficult road...

BJ sounds like Michael is going to be a joy to have around!

Quick wave to all!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks for stopping by and letting us know how you day's going. I was wondering when the Amazing Trisha will be off running again, doing Samaritan works!! Hope your mum will feel better soon and Laura, we're sending positive thoughts out to you on your housing issues.
Trisha, don't forget to take your vitamins. So many are dependant on you, but you musn't fail to take care of yourself too.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well have a lovely chat with the postmistress. To bad I didn't have packages to mail. LOL

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Afternoon sistahs. I've been reading since I'm on when everyone is doing something else. Can't seem to catch yall live on the thread.

Kathy so glad to hear your good news, girl friend. Pamela is ready for some sunshine so she can spend some of the two year old energy outside. Bet you are ready for spring too.

Dusty, your artistic talent is amazing! The sculptures have so much personality. You can just read their facial expressions. And those babies, oh my, just like a newborn. I can't wait for April when my real grandbaby arrives. That's what I thought about when I saw those clay babies.

BJ, when are we going to get to see a picture of you and Michael? How many langanges does he speak?

Marion, I'm busy cleaning my sunroom of all the yellow nicotine on the windows. So nasty. I've cut way back. Let's just put it that way. The medicine is working. Seems I really want one after I eat. I'm going out side under the carport and I've only had two today and it's almost 4:30. Chewing gum is helping.

Jaye, so much snow in your neck of the woods. Mama's been snowed in for over a week. All of Gatlinburg is heavily under snow. Very Deep.

Debra, what a sweet package you sent Judy! Judy, girl, please, she fixed you up nicely.

Waving hello to Staceypoo, Linda K, Cindy, Trisha, Audrey, Laura, Donna C., Kim and Kim, I know I'm leaving out but I'm going off the top of my head so Ill just say Hi to all the others and especially the new sistahs, I'm glad Jaye put our names at the top of the thread so I can learn everyone's name. It's so much more personalble to be able to call you by name.

Back to cleaning windows. BBL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my day is now perfect!!! Deborah has joined us with a post. Insert huge *GRIN*

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I know what you mean about cleaning smoke off of glass yuk!!! I had to clean an apt. that had 14 years of two people smoking. The shower was YELLOW. Everything in the apt was. Even the cords to drapes. Was getting $20 an hour to clean this place took 2 8 hour days.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

A big sigh of relief here too Maid M. Seeing Deborah posting, all is right.. so far with our world.
Somehow, this picture is appropriate for what I think of us right now... not that I'm hinting at our excess weight..
We got each other's back.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

ROFLOL, I absolutely love that picture!!! Yeap, we got each other covered and BTW, I really enjoyed dinner last night!! I hope you enjoyed your spaghetti--whole wheat at that! See I am being a good girl--mush easier now as Kim and I are doing this together. Don't allow any thing in the house that starts with ice cream!!! That is why I was so excited to see the recipe Trisha posted. Will settle my sweet tooth and besides if it has cherries what could be bad about it--add chocolate and it just gets better.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Kel has decided it's Indian food tonight, Maid M. So, hope your stomach's up to spicy Biryani and wheat naan.
Need to get some angel food cake... got the rest, except for the cherries. I'll see what other sugar free canned pie fillings I can find.
BTW.. I finished first part of the 7 item swap! ;) Chopsticks did come in handy!! Lolol!!

Cya'll ladies later!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Afternoon ladies. I just got back home from my last PT days!!! All is well. I still have home stretching to do to keep it flexible, but PT is done.
I just got a haircut to celebrate. Now hubby and I are going out to Chili's for dinner one last time, before Dad gets back here.
Glad to see Deborah posting. Take a break form cleaning windows, and tell us how you are doing?
Trisha, sorry to hear you have extra chore to do. Prayers going your way. And some ((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))
too!
LK

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Jaye, tell me something about the Indian food. Your town is too small for ethic restaraunts, right? So do you and Kel do all the ethic cooking? I must live in a hole. I've never heard of
Biryani and wheat naan. Spaggitti and tacos is about as ethic as I know how to cook.

See I bet I'm the only one on line right now.

Still not through cleaning. Took a nap and still have 5 large windows to do. They'll have to wait until daylight.

Ya'll, I went shopping for a gift to take to the baby shower sat. I've already ordered the travel system and it will be delivered to their house. So I wanted to take a gift to the shower and had the hardest time trying to decide what to get. Every little outfit I took off the rack was cute. I had two arm loads of newborn sizes, 3 mos. 6 mos and 9 mos. I didn't have the heart to put not the first one back on the rack. YES I bought all of them! Oh my stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Broke the bank on this trip for sure.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I am here Deborah and you now have officially joined the "Grandmother's Club". Trouble is I still do that when I am out shopping.

You aren't the only one who doesn't know what Jaye and Kel will be eating. Maybe she will explain to us when they get back. Hope so.

So happy the chopsticks worked my dear. The vision still has me in stitches!! Between your chopsticks and the Valentine Thread, it has been a rough day on the clothing!! Way to much knowledge!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Hey all, mum is feeling better this afternoon....mostly I think it is depression because she can't do stuff like she is used to...it is going to be a long three weeks before we see the Orthopedic Specialist........maybe I will take her up to Paperzone in Tacoma tomorrow, I need to get some leather finish and she could use to get out of the house for awhile.

Thanks Jaye, the last thing I need is to get sick again on top of everything else.
Laura and Sean are still looking.....still have two months so hopefully the right thing will pop up.

YEAAAAAAYYYYYY Deborah!!!!!!! You are almost there!!!!!! The last several years I smoked I did not smoke in the house at all, and not in the car unless all of the windows were down. Was so happy when I quit, and now it smells so soooooooooo bad I have to ask how I ever did that!!! Keep up the good work!!

Thanks LK.....congrats on being finished with PT.!

We are hoping to have our 7 Item finished or close to it before the week end is over!!

Waving to all~~~~~~~~~~~

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Trisha that is wonderful your Mom is feeling better this afternoon. It is really hard when someone is used to being active gets down!! It was one of the things that made it so difficult with my hubby--he was a very active person and when the cancer moved into more of the bones and he was limited in his activities the depression started. Not a good thing for anyone--I know we all know that! Good luck with the trip--they do have wheelchairs--but if she if like my Mom getting her into one will almost take an act of Congress.

Glad Laura and Sean have some time to look. Bad enough having to move but do it quickly is almost impossible.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

I just scrolled up and saw the panda's. So that's you and Jaye ay Marion? Too funny!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Marion, so far she has been really good about the walker, you're right I don't know if she would go for the chair right now or not!!!!

Well, while they are looking I found a way to get Sage out from under foot for awhile....I just signed her up for a six week rock climbing class......my DH's Employer has the clothing/sporting goods stores, the Bike shop and a Climbing Gym....employees families get classes etc. at the employee/member price so it ends up costing about $3 a day for her classes. They have a small climbing wall at her school and she loves o climb!!!

Speaking of Sage, I need to take off and get her delivered to visit her mother.....talk to everyone later......

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

That's us! We are looking out for each other in our vow to lose some of the extra "us" we have acquired! Aren't we lovely little gals? LOL

Deborah, I am so proud of how you are doing with the smoking--keep it up girl.

Trisha, what gives with wheelchairs? I think I would willing sit in one and be pushed everywhere if I could get away with it. Then maybe not--will see when I get to that point.
Sounds great about the rock climbing classes for Sage. I know she will be excited.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

*waves to all as she enters the room*

hey girls I've missed being in here!!!!!

have new drivers at work so spent my morning at DPs with 2 taking their driving tests and then working on shredding student cards to throw away.
Now I have to get my bag packed as I leave tomorrow at 10:45 for Ft. Worth again with soccer team and will be there again till Saturday sometime.

BJ a thought came to mind as I skimmed over the posts ...stuff you are thinking about sending back wtih him make sure they are allowed through customs.
I know we had to check into things when the German girls stayed with us I'm trying to remember what we send back with them other then the twister game food wise and don't recall but we had to make sure it would go through customs

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Phillis, do you take a monitor person with you on road trips? Do you stay in a motel room by yourself or do you have to chaperon athlete girls?

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Oh Phyllis, I have wanted to tell you I love your name Mibus... So different
Hugs,
Sue...
Ps. You all should visit the Valentine forum as it a little snotty over there...LOLOL

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

Nope the monitor does not go on the trip wtih me only me the driver and the coach and team.
I get a room all to myself ..last time I was on the 3rd floor and the 2 boys that go that video tape and such were in the room next to me but I didn't have to watch them either LOL
I'm just there to take them where they want to go when they need to go.
they pay for everything I don't have to pay for my meals or my room

thanks sue my lis. plate back in Illinois was MIBUS2 but I haven't got around to getting that here in Texas yet LOL
but it is fitting as I drive a school bus

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Susan, you want to be called Sue or Susan? What valentine forum?

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Thanks for telling why the name... pretty cool... Like I said I have been wanting to tell you but I never remember ..LOLOL
Hugs,
Susan

smalltown, IL

My boss called me into the office today and told me he'd like me to take a salary postion he has in our dept.HE wants me to meet with the HR lady tomorrow and get an idea of pay and benefits..
I am hourly($13) and am on a point system right now..with a union.

So I need some good questions to ask her..
Thanks..

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Trisha, the climbing wall and being around other children Sage's age for $3.00 a session is the best and cheapest daycare outing I've heard of. That's just the cat's meow! I'm sure Sage loves it too. The competion of climbing that wall should be exciting and fun for her.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Debra,
I don't care which one you call me...LOL When I am not lazy I sign Susan but when I am lazy I sign Sue...LOL One day we were golfing and the man behind the desk called me Suzy??? I said why did you call me that? No one calls me Suzy except my husband, he then said that is how he introduced me to you... I said well that is fine but call me Sue, Susan or any other name but don't call me Suzy... He gave me the creeps... But I have to say he turned out to be ok... Hubby has called me that since I was a very young age of 13.
So Debra a long story for such a short word... LOL So when we talk on the phone you can even call me Suzy ^_^ When Kimmy calls she will say Susannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn and I say Kimmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.....
Ok ladies I am getting ready for bed as I do have to work in the morning... But then off for 4 more days...yeahhhh
Hugs Turtle, aka Susan,Sue,Suzy

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Some good questions that I can think of would be:

1. How many people will I supervise and evaluate their work performance?
2.. How many hours are considered exempt? (we were required to be scheduled 45 hours on salaried positions at my last job)
3. Are any hours worked over and above the required schedule include overtime pay?
4. What is the job description?
5 May I see a copy of the evaluation form which I will be evaluated from?
6. Is this position under a union?
7. What are the benefits and perks of salaried employees verses those which I'm already getting?
Or something of this order.

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Wow what an eye opening thought... I have known my husband for 40 years now and married for 33... Wow... Oh heck he's a good one I think I'll keep him...LOL
Hugs,
Susan

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Yes, keep him, Susan. I've had mine 34 years, known him for 36 years, but he's known me for 41 years. If yours is like mine he's so spoiled and set in his ways, wouldn't nobody else put up with him. ROFLOL

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

OK Country Blue...how long will you have to work on the new job? Not what they list the job as (like 8 hrs/day) how much do you REALLy spend working? I've had salaried jobs that I worked over 60 hrs a week (advertised as 40 hr wk.) and when you figured it out by the hour I made much less than I would have if I had worked by the hour and been able to get over-time.
What are the other good things about salaried over hourly?
Make a list of pros and cons so you can really look at things.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Tina, where did you go? I wrote a few questions up there somewhere.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Janice is right about salaried people being worked to death practically. Make sure this job is truely a salaried postition as determined by your states worker's compensation laws and Wage and Hour Department. Sometimes companies will make a person a team leader but don't give them all the tools, authority and compensation worthy of the workload, then work the hounddog out of them. Make sure you understand the new chain of command this position puts you in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Debra,
You are so right.... Mine came home tonight and said how kept the wood stove going?? I said I did for you.... He said for me why... I said because I feel bad that when you get up the house is cold in our bedroom so this way in the morning when you go out of our room you will be warm.... He was so impressed...LOLOL He told me I made a better fire then he did... I said duh I use to do it all the time.. Told me he loved me a million times...LOL See I am a very hot person so at night I turn the heat to around 55 or 50 then I sleep with two windows open and a fan on... So he puts up with allot with me at night... Mind you I have him a beautiful heating blanket with duel settings... His is on mine is not...LOL
Hugs,
Susan

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Susan, my stars but you sure are hot natured. That's amazing! What's your normal body temperature? Bet it's not the norm. 98.6. I'm I right?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Not feeling to good tonight. I've been nauseous off and on all day, and breaking out in a sweat even without the nausea. I'll be so glad when I feel better!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Love the pencil idea! OMG dying here! LOL

BJ how exciting taking your friend everywhere he's never been and seeing things he's never seen. Thanks for the lessons you have been giving us that you have learned from him.

You know, I don't remember Hollister's. Must not have been where I'm from lol what a surprise!

Well shoot, Oh! Pictures! LOL! Brain fart! Was busy at work today with twiddle de doo dah talking constantly, here I am trying to find a bank error, or some sort of error on this financial report (yea I got a BA in IT to balance bank statements... Not!) and miss ding a ling kept talking and talking, but because she has the office confused with a library I can't hear a word she says, it's just blah blah blah blah, honestly sounds like some moans and groans, but still breaks the concentration.

Here's my favorite one of Tiga

Here's my great-grandmother on my mom's dad's side. She's the lady who my grandfather said was Cherokee Indian and she's actually Chickasaw Indian. Can anyone tell the difference?

Thumbnail by crissyr
Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Crissy, is Tiga part persian and tabby? Looks like an m on her forehead.

I just love antique pictures of families from our past. Your ggm sure has a sharp square jaw line. Beautiful lady in her 50's would you say?
