To Chase Away The Winter Blues...3

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Y'all need to come down here we have fresh seafood all year around. Well except for the lobsters. There's a really good seafood place just a couple of blocks from my house!!!!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

going to have to visit florida again soooooon lol love the sea food and the weather

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

You would not love it right now. We are going to have 2 nights of hard freezes. over 6 hours each night oh well maybe it will kill some of the bugs and weeds.

It will be down to 42 in Miami to night and they are having fires weather watches down .

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

ya maybe the bugs but hahahha weeds never die did you not get the memo ahahha

Hope springs eternal!!!!

like I keep on saying if I hear anyone complain about heat this summer I will loose my mind and quickly remind them about this winter if that does not stop them I will have to tell them to go away lol hahhahah

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Tell them to come to Florida, specially south Florida and they would learn what summer heat is like!!!!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I was there last may and it was great warmed up the old bone a few years ago I was in orland in july everyone was complaining I had a big smile on my face and a hot coffee in my hand they told me I was nuts I just love the heat went to Italie the year that people just kept dropping dead from the heat I was outside from sun up to midnight for two months loved it I have to say florida is humid in july but since I do not usually sweat it was good for me lost 15 pounds in three weeks if I lived there I would be skinny would take a while hahahhah

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I had the best steamed oysters in a little place in Newport, RI

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I miss my visits to Florida. Mona, if you love the heat, then you would love it in Phoenix, AZ. I lived in that area for 4 years. I loved it. I don't like humid heat, but dry heat I like, and the winters there were like paradise.

Get thee to the SW Forum scicciarella. They are a wonderfly warm and friendly bunch. They welcome popper-in-ers and non-and-then-ers.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

will have to do that

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Friendly folks there in the SW & no attitude!
Yes - I could definitely smack a few folks I know that complain about the "Heat".
I can relate to all you posted Sciccarella - warmed to the bone: exactly! Only problem was it didn't last more than a few days here, last summer. When it hit 70°, the moaning started.
I wore earplugs and drank lots of hot coffee.......and the sun felt really really nice.
I overdosed on humidity when I lived in Brazil; dry heat is much easier on me. These days i don't really care - need SUN.

South Hamilton, MA

Phonix may be 'dry heat' but I was there one april when it was 102 plus russian olive trees & it was unbearable.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

cool I love the heat I start to wilt over 105 then I want shade or air

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

March and April are great for wildflowers, but only really if they've had a wet enough winter. That happens only occasionally. I was there one year when they had awesome wildflowers. Would love to be there again for that. One of these days I will go through some of those pics and scan some to post.

Wow, 102 plus in April is a killer. Doesn't usually get into the hundreds till June, Then it stays in the hundreds till sometime in late September.
