And well, got to see the original bath, right?
Couldn't find a before bath, so here is in the works, instead. lol.
Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #78
Deborah, took a little break to see the view!
This is north bound. The road you see is the famous
Lake Shore Drive. It runs all the way down the lake from one end of the City to the other.
It actually continues through Suburbs, including Evanston, where I used to work.
Anyway, this viiews for you.

I learned, watching all the HGTV shows really help.
Good tips on how to sort of equal the place out.
Everything was there, I just figured where it should all go.
I had lots of fun with this project!
Thanks for sharing my day...
One cannot , not see so much in the view...We just loved the shadows.
The tall shadow on the right is the John Hancock, we are on the 60th floor!!
OK...wasn't sure if you can see the right hand corner...
I didn't take a whole lot of pics. lil place is long and narrow.
in this darker picture you can see the right side of the unit.
sorry, now I am done...LOL.
That is so pretty and neat! The tallest building in Little Rock is 40 stories.
Thanks Crissy,
40 stories is tall. You ever go up to see the view?
Nope, I'm not in that building and don't know what's in it, except for my bank on the 1st floor. I'm in a building that was the first tower built downtown in 1960, it's 18 stories and I'm on the 7th, which is plenty high for me.
LOL, I hear that!!
I am terrified of high places, mountains, steep hills, ladders, and buildings.
Believe me, Steve had to hold on to me before I could look! heheh.
LOL I am too!! I don't do ladders, period.
Love the shadow pic! Great idea!
OMG Judy Steve did a fantastic job..looks great..not what I imagied though, thought those apartments would be very large...is this a regular size apartment i.e. 1 bedroom or a studio apartment...
Good for you having a beer, you earned it for sure...love the kitchen..omg maybe I'll keep Steve a few weeks longer when he visits..lol and you of course..
The view is spectacular..going to have to go back to Chicago again and spend a 3 or 4 days investigating the city...
Bitter cold out there this morning...out at 3:00am to start the car..boy she wasn't sure she wanted to start..when I got up at 4:45 went out again ...all is well...no snow just extremely frigid...prayers for those poor souls sleeping outside.. Gillian, if we get in the -30's here, what temps do you go down to up there in the real northern country?
I'm sure I did tell you all about the homeless man the night Roger died...still feeling sad about it...
Just got out of the tub, fluffing up some warm clothes for me to wear, nothing like putting on clothing right from the dryer..
Paul working in the city today and tomorrow so I'm promising myself I'll finish that cupboard insert by the weekend...
talk later...
Betty-why don't you get one of the engine heater things or a remote starter-then you could just stand in your house and turn it on and off??
Judy..what a great job of transforming the apt.
Thanks for givng us the tour.
So does the owner sleep on that day bed?
I just went out to start my car..it is -23c here this morning..had a hard time getting the door open..Had to pry it open with a spatuala...but it started ok.
Bye for now..
I'm off to look after my grandaughter..
morning all,
judy ,judy! lemmons left elk grove village post office on the 14th you'll have them today :)
nice pics was that the apt we were in ? steve did a great job!
carol i snivil at 48 i cant imagine -23 lol
hello to everyone have to do a few things around the house before work
have a great day
That will be on my Christmas list for next year Stacey, for sure..although I have heard that if you have it installed other than the dealership your warrante on call does not count..to go to the dealership, omg it's a fortune...don't mind going out to start it, it's just that it's -29 here this morning brrrr....Carol, sure can understand why your doors didn't want to open..best you find a home for your garden things and use the garage or potting shed for your car..lol...be careful on those roads Carol, so many accidents this morning...more snow on the way as well...
If you were watching the A Channel Carol did you see where they put a glass of water outside and within 20 minutes it was completely frozen..so that's cold...
took out my stained glass project out again this morning, set it on the table..my commitment to myself this weekend is to finish the panel...more and more I think of it I don't really want to put anything in the front window so now what??? maybe bedroom window will do...maybe if it's out and looking at me I'll be more enthused to complete it..besides, have some girls on the stained glass thread making sure I do..lol
Judy, does the owner of the apartment tell Steve what they want, the design, the colors etc. or does Steve get to create using some of their guidelines...?
OMG Liz, it's just after 7 here...wouldn't it be around 4am your way..you sure are an early riser...
what Carol and I wouldn't give for 48 degrees, we'd be in shorts...lol
ummm yes lol but i was up at 330 lol
Good grief Liz. It's supposed to get down to 11 degrees F here tomorrow night.
We're looking at that here, too. Are you sure we aren't in another ice age? We have had and will have snow everyday' so cold that when it snows they don't know where to pile it anymore, and salt wont work in those temps. I never wanted to move to warmer clims; like my four seasons, but this is rediculous! Let's have snow or cold (if we must), but not both! We are al going nuts.
Had to be watchful coming in this a.m. - they set up at a mall an accident reporting trailer as there were so many accidents that they wanted them dealt with asap by tow trucks (if no bodily harm involved) then the people involved have to get to the reporting trailer to deal with all the issues, that's how many fender benders...so we just took our time..quite a few cars just broken down as well because of the cold...oh to live in the great white North...
Hear you Janice...plowman came about 7:00 a.m. this morning, not really just to clear the snow, more to move it and enlarge it otherwise he'd have nowhere to dispose of it...
Just told Suzanne, I'm making a list of projects I want to do, get groceries to accommodate what I'd like to eat over the weekend and nope, getting home around 3:00 on Friday and not going out till Monday morning...
TRUMPET BLARING! Cedric and Bailey have been found! There was a note saying they needed to be signed for to be delivered so I signed and we will see if they leave them today. If not, I will pick them up tomorrow. Don't know how much we can do in this cold with all the snow but we will try to at least stay warm. Cedric can help me on my 7 item swap.
Thank goodness Janice, because I can't get to post office during the week was going to call June my girlfriend to go in search of the P.O. just incase with all the problems the girl was having that the box got set aside and forgotten...how much fun..yep they love doing crafts as you've gathered...just keep them cozy and they'll be fine....
Oh happy days...
Good Morning,
Thank you for unit compliments.
Carol, I am not sure where the owners sleep. That other couch is also a pull out bed.
I imagine it depends on who is all with him, them. A nice married couple own the unit.
They also had a number of sleeping bags as well...So maybe they entertain a number of people.
...That day bed is quite comfy!! I would think it’s all in the mattress.
We are interested in getting one or two for the cottage.
Betty, this particular unit is a Studio. Steve says it 500 square feet. The last unit in the JH was a 1 bedroom unit, very nice and the windows opened in that one. If I remember correctly, the Bedroom had French doors, that led out to a small in door terrace. I really like that, thought it was real pretty.
As far as the design, It all depends on the Customer. These people are from New York. So, They came in one weekend, to show Steve the Unit, talk ideas and spent 14 hours shopping and picking out what they want. They give Steve option on the design of tile. He then sketches what will work and get approval via fax. All the work gets photos so He can share what is happening periodically with the owners. Except the Final…Walk through is today, providing his plane doesn’t get cancelled.
LOL, the only thing this unit is lacking is Greenery! The argument is they get no sun, well this may be true, also the fact that no one there to take care of live plants, but surely they could use Silk!
So I have this plan, of Decorating on a Blue print…( our Photo’s) to show them how it could look with some greenery. Maybe I can get hire for interior design,…LOL, worth a try.
I know they rent the place on occasion. For that alone they need to Perk the place up!
The wife can’t make it on this trip, she has to work. But When she does, They are taking us out to dinner.
Nice Bonus! I will use that time to offer my ideas.
Thanks Audrey and Crissy, glad you like my Shadow photo. We think it’s really neat too.
Will have to Add it to my collection of Chicago Wall photos!
Liz, What in the world are you getting us so darned early for?
Oh how exciting, Now this man can stop blaming everything on our boring old plain lemons.
Plus we shall see to if it stops his heartburn, LOL he insists is the lemons!
OH My Gosh, Betty and Carol, We are getting your cold and Snow, it here too. Tonight we are suppost to be in single digits, with wind chill something insane like 30 below!!, Definitely a fire will be in order.
You all be safe in the travels. Snow is light and fluffy right now, still coming down.
Good Heavens Stacey, Did you say you are outside? What exactly do you do that you are to be out in these conditions? My Gosh, holy moley…I HOPE THEY HAVE SOMEONE FEEDING HOT LIQUIDS.
Oops I am not yelling, caps went on. ..But I should be yelling at someone for making you stay out in the frigid like that!!
Yeah and Yippee, so Glad to see Cedrick and Bailey have arrived…I hope they are knocking on your Door Today.
How exciting…Will be fun to see what They come up with for the 7 items swap!!
OK, got to get Steve rolling here. So I will chat in a bit.
I make sure my workers are driving safely at an auction we have and yell at them when needed-I need a ski mask w/ a heater in it-my face is wind burned and my lips feel like leather:( They are kinda out there, so it is always WAY more windy there than anyplace else...oh well...
5* here tomorrow night! Teens tonight and tomorrow. Betty, you really shouldn't have sent us the cold! We didn't actually want it!! I wouldn't mind the cold, if we had some snow to keep our feet off the cold ground!
Sorry Audrey but 5 to us today is balmy weather..lol...you don't have to go out do you?
At least Stacey I'm sitting in a warm office, micro heater on beside me and I'm warm and toasty...
Shucks, left my glasses at home wouldn't you know it..have a Dollar Store pair here, will try to do some painting but just might have to leave it for another day if I can't see it clearly...
You sound like me! Never have them if I need them! Since I had cataract surgery, I don't need them except for little print!
I have them Audrey dangling by a string around my neck, just forgot to put them around my neck this morning...I'm painting though, will just have to check to make sure my lines are clear when I get home and touch up if necessary...
OMG Suzanne came down with a cold last night ... she's in the office working but should really be in bed...says there is just too much work for her with Christmas and New years behind us so unless she's dead she'll come in...
Just gabbing to Sharon..she just got in from the hospital with Rhonda..both she and Terry were there as was the phychiatrist she goes to as to all give her support..hard way to start womanhood...
Hi everyone. I'm alive - just lurking.
I am getting worried about Jesse as I have d-mailed her and rec'd no response. Has anyone else heard from her?
Getting ready for Sailor's sister's arrival on Friday. Should be very interesting! I'd have 6 goldens if DH wouldn't divorce me! Murphy's momma is preggers and Sailor's momma is down in FL on a "hot date". Ironically, with the same "stud" Murphy's mom got knocked up by! :)
I'm staying busy sewing bags and finishing up some of my wall hangings.
OMG 6 doggies, no wonder DH would divorce you...thank goodness Jeannine you have a big house and kids to help you out...
Nope, I've been lurking around as well looking for her but haven't seen her post..no way to find out I guess...if you e-mail me her address anyone who has it, I'll send something to it in hopes that she gets it or if it is returned well we'll just be more worried won't we...
Will try to d-mail her and see if she responds...
How could one find out?
