Oh, Zhinusmom, I hate when that happens!

Here is a picture of the skeleton leaf wall hangings that Judy sent me as part of the 2009 swap gift. This is in my hallway...

Brenda and Judy That is beautiful!!!! My MIL has a Tulip Tree outside her bedroom window. The leaves do not break down like other leaves.....they make the most beautiful skeleton leaves.....I need to try and collect some if her gardener hasn't disposed of all of them yet!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Those are awesome Brenda!!!

I have most of what is on Debs list so I am gooood to go!!

Tante Jaye-I can make you a couple more if you like-maybe a frog and a butter?? LMK and I will get started on them;)

Well, I got on DG this am and had a cup of coffee while reading, then I called my mom for our weekly call, then did the dishes, organized 2 closets, put away some Xmas stuff, cleaned a bathroom, repotted some plants I have in the house, did some of my 7 item swap, ate lunch, worked for 2 hrs, worked on my 7 item swap again, catching up on DG, then back to cleaning the other 2 bathrooms and laundry, then a couple more hrs of work...there is one thing I am makeing for my 7 item I showed BJ yesterday and they are taking me FOREVER!! I showed her the first few I did and I have done 5X that many now and it takes several hours!!!! OMG-I will be happy not to do another one for a LONG TIME!!!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Brenda, they are beautiful. Judy, did you make the leaf wall hangings? They are gorgeous!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Brenda, they are so beautiful!! The right place to showcase them, just under those wise words. They look textured.
Are they? Judy, you did good sistah.
Wish I could afford to commission an artist to do just a painting on skeletal leaves.

Interesting day you're having niece.. tired following you around! So how many items are you making from those 7 Items?? And yes to those boxes if you don't mind. Those plastic boxes that the pins come in are not too cute to look at :D

Had to run to the store to get more pen caps.. then back to cutting out patterns... laundry.. and taking notes on the 2009 gifts I made off the cuff. (Gonna have to record them, can't depend on my old memory if I decided to duplicate the patterns)
now I can sit back and watch the game.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Whizzing through ladies. Phyllis I am so glad you and the girls weren't hurt in that accident. What are people thinking these days? I know there is no good answer to that. Just know I am really glad you are okay !!!!

Hello Brenda, been missing you! Oh my do I love the print Judy sent to you. Beautiful and the writing about the picture is so nice. Good job Judy.

Tink, would you like to come clean my house now? I am still sorting and packing away Christmas things. Kim and I decided to do a through cleaning out this year. No sense keeping all the things we had when we combined households.

BJ, sure wish you could have come with Don but then again, the weather is lousy today. In the 50, rainy and just down right miserable. Going to finish my chores I promised myself I would to then taking time out to watch another episode of the Tudors. How is the finger doing today. Nothing hurts worse than a cut on the finger!!

Hi Debra, how are you doing? Please don't stress out on us with the wedding--take it one day at the time. Easy for me to tell the mother of the bride and I was only the mother of the groom. Just show up in beige and keeps mouth shut!! LOL

Waving to all the Sistahs. Need to get back to cleaning up my hard drive so I can download onto the external drive I purchase. Then the process of reload everything back to the CPU. Thank goodness I have a laptop to use in the process.

Will check back later. No, Jaye I am NOT computer savvy--just forced to learn something new.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

OK Maid M.. if you say so...
Thanks for clarifying it's a print.. it's still a beautiful print. We all should have one like that.. life is indeed a journey.. I'm glad I got my sistahs in this journey, make it more pleasant!!!

Glenview, IL

Hi everyone!

Brenda, smiling big, glad You and all like my gifts...It was so much fun to choose special 2009 gifts.
I too Love the Journey reading on your wall...

Sistahs, I did not paint the leaf prints. However I do know the artist. Her name is Leah.
Brenda show them the sleigh...if you want lol, That one I did make. was a spin off from Betty workshop last year.
The real deals were wood and Victorian santas...

So I just braved up to cutting first applique pattern piece.
What is acrue matierial??

In between I have enjoyed seeing everyone 2009 gifts..so many beautiful pieces.

BJ, sweetie, I sure hope your finger mends quickly. Very frustrating for sure.

Phylis, Oh my goodness, I am so glad you were not hurt!! Big HUGS to you. I bet you were scared and shocked.
Thank goodness you adjusted visor earlier...((((((((( Phylis ))))))))

LOL, plus normal everyday cleaning, laundry...lol gripe, gripe 'bout that.

Fairy, you been one busy girl...but what else is new?? LOL.

Hey I just caught some pics from the Fairy swap, looks like you all had lots of fun with it.

Well, better go check on what Steves doing.

Hi Deborah and Debra...
What a list that is, going to have to print up a copy.

Oh man Trisha, hate when that happens.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Judy, does Leah has a website? Would love to see her other works.

Maybe it's ecru material. Ecru could be the color as you know, or linen cloth...used for embroidery or aida cloth.. used for cross stitching. Hopefully a wise sistah can answer what 'acrue' is.

Glenview, IL

LOL, Acru is a color...too funny will have to look up color!

You are right, I spelled it wrong. It is acru.
Ok, well another item added to my list, which just keeps growing..
Thanks Jaye.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Anytime sistah! Since you're starting to quilt, you will accrue cloth in no time at all!!! Lol!!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

ROTFLMBO! You two need a stand up routine!

Please forgive me - I can't help myself. Here's a link to DD's wedding site. All the young people have their own wedding website these days. She doesn't have a lot on it yet but there are a few photos. Moms are allowed, right? (grin)

Hello All,
Was up at 4 am, to go visit my brother just got home. I'm so glad we only do this once a month, but I feel sorry for my brother as Mom and I are the only ones who visit him. His daughter (the little snot) is only a 45 min. drive has been to see him maybe 5 times in the last 13 years. Makes me SO MAD!!! She was suppose to go with us, so that my brother could see his grandson whom he has not seen since he was 1 or 2.

Bonnie, Bonnie, Bonnie, man you have been gone from here way too long. Hope you will drop in more oftern. BTW have you finished making my jar for the "Re-Purpose" Jar swap LOL ^_^

You ladies that have received your 2009 swapies have gotten some really cool stuff. I'm hoping to finish mine and get it in the mail tomarrow ^-^

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Geez, it seems like every time I'm not here you guys chat up a storm. I make a post and everybody disappers. What's up with that?????

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Jaye, Lisa had not gotten your card when I talked to her yesterday. Of course, she's not at home, but she'll probably go by there tomorrow and check the mail.

My friend in Ala. and I have figured out why my feet stay cold. I think under my floors is concrete, and the carpet is ultra thin! No wonder the water I soak my toes in gets cold so quickly! Tomorrow I'll put on shoes with a thick sole, if they don't hurt my toes!

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

That happens to me too Cindy...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

It must be that time of the evening. Everybody but trisha are 3 to 4 hours ahead of me, and I keep forgetting that. Sometimes it's the same in the mornings they've been up for 3 or 4 hours before I get up.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Jaye-how many do you want and do you have any preferences in size, color, of animal??

After I got off here earlier, I cleaned the other 2 bathrooms, swept the floors, took a shower, worked for about an hour, and now I am waiting on Pizza as we don't have too many groceries til Friday, and neither of us could muster any creativeness for food....

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

So what is it you're making for Jaye, Stacey? Are you talking about the little wooden boxes? I have mine here by th pc, with paper clips & push pins. Thanks ^_^. I have a big one and I don't know what to make it for, hhhmmmm???

Myrtle Beach, SC(Zone 8b)

I'm on the same time as they are. I must have cyber breath LOL

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheesh... Stacey... want to come visit me with all that energy?
I seem to never get caught up... I figure if I get one room done really good in a day, I've moved a mountain.

ya know... it happens to me too sometimes... I'm just getting here sometimes while everyone else has left and started their daily deeds. Don't get a complex Cindy... it's just a coinkydinky.

Audrey... I have never, ever been as cold anywhere I have ever lived until I lived here. Yep, it's those concrete slabs. We just have hardwood over the concrete, and let me tell ya, my feet stay like ice... I wear a pair of thick socks under my knitted footie house shoes... then sometimes I slip those into a pair of Don's houseshoes... makes me look like Bozo walking around the house.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL-this is the most I have done in one day in a while-I don't know I think I just had a good day....

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I'm not :(

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

WEll, for the several weeks of bad days, I guess I was due for 1 good one....forgot to answer you Cindy-yup-Jaye wants some more little boxes:)

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well, I think I will go sip my coffee and Baileys and see if I can get the last thing finished for my 2009 sistah, so I can get it in the mail tomarrow. The weather is suppose to be super nice all week so I want to be outside.

TTYL LUV YOU GUYS!!!! Have a good night!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Rub it in-we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow night, then we are supposed to have temps around 0 for the rest of the week:(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Cindy, how come your not having a good day? Where do you go to visit your Brother, and how come his own daughter won't go to see him? Is he sick?
I hope all the snow quits real soon for all of ya. I know my Sister in Michigan, is getting tired of it! So glad we don't get weather like that. I know we get extreme heat in the summer, but that is what air conditioners are for.
Ladies, have a good night, and we will talk in the morning. I am going for a hot shower.
Who has coffee duty in the morning?

LK

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Stacey I would LOVE to be in the snow love it love it. I would rather have that than fog and wind which is what I've had the last two months.

LK, my brother is in prison and yes he is sick too. Leukemia. It's a 1 1/2 hour drive for me and it is not a good place. Lots of black people who are really rude and they get away with a lot more things than the whites do. He will be there for the rest of his life. We are 6 years apart, him older but my b-day first May 27th his the 28th. I don't know why my neice won't go see him more often. I guess partying every Fri and Sat and her friends are more important. She promised him that she would come this time and she didn't even bother to call to let us know, she just flaked on us. I sent her an email (she won't answer her phone or return our calls) telling her what I thought. Won't do any good but I got it off my chest.

If it's any consolation Stacey... I got an email from Michael today... it's -8 in Vienna, and he was out playing on the ice in it. He said it was slightly snowing, and beautiful. He said that typical for January there. Must be nice to be that young and so resilient to all that.
It's in the 30's here, and I'm freezing my buns off.

Cindy... that's awful that your niece won't go see him... you and her are all he's got. I do hope you told her off good in that email.

LK... if I can manage to get up early enough, I'll make the coffee. I really have to change my sleeping habits really soon.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, sorry to hear he is sick. Someday when she grows up, she will realize what she is missing.
Good night all.

LK

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

She's 41, and has two kids(Ashley 19 his 1st GD and Andrew 16 2nd GS) who want to see him but she keeps flaking on us. His other daughter lives in Idaho, and when she is out here she won't go see him either but will visit friends. I could kick both their butts!!!
