Just wanted to let you all know I am back from my trip. Everything went well, and Dr, say's I can go get my dad in 2 weeks. So I will be flying to Michigan for a quick week-end trip. Stacey, I wish I could take an extra day to meet you, just can't fit it in this trip. So sorry.

Sheesh... took me forever to catch up here... I don't think I even retained all I read...

KIM... you know we're all going on that vacation to Cancun vicariously with you... so be sure to bring us back pictures so we know what a good time we had while you were there.

My sleep habits are hard to break... I'm trying to go to bed earlier, so I can get up earlier. I'm going to have to start getting up at the crack of dawn to get Michael up and off to school soon, and I'm having a tough time with getting to sleep at a decent hour. I think I need to buy a couple more alarms that ring really loud.

This is going to be fun. Michael's mom has been emailing me. Her English is not very good, and she's hoping that through emails with me she'll get better. Michael has been translating for her, and she bought a German/English translation dictionary. But, if Michael is here, he won't be helping her... she'll have to learn to do it herself.

BJ that is just exciting about Michael. He will be in culture shock for sure with our ways of travel here. No train to speak of, no tram. That was the neatest thing for me when I was in Europe last spring. Could get from point A to point B in no time flat. Different countries with in an hr or so. Mind boggling for sure. Watch which fast food he goes for 1st. Mickey D's I bet. How long will he be staying?

Tia Tina... he'll be here about 6 months... They only have McDonalds and Burger Kings, and Arby's over there. So, he'll have a lot of fast food places to choose from that he's not used to. The fun one is going to be taking him to Walmart... they don't have super stores like that in Europe...

No they sure dont. He will love Wal Mart and the Malls. I bet he will LOVE shopping at Ross!!!!! Now I loved shopping in Europe that was fun. Where is he from again?

Judy THANKS for the coffee!! I get to enjoy it while the house is asleep. :) We didnt get the predicted snow.......in fact our temp outside is almost 40 degrees. But the roads look mushy and the rain is coming around noon.

I have tons of cleaning to do. But feel lazy too! :O

We bought an extra family car to be available for the teenagers [I have practiced that line].....basically we bought a car for our 16yo but dont want her to feel ownership and be a bossy butt. :) But in WV the tags and titles and paperwork seem to take forever........but I really wished I could send her to the grocery store this am! :) She wont drive my yukon.

I missed some stuff when the new room opened up so going back to catch up on yall!

OHHHHHHHHHHH how pretty, I have one from you. I think it was from you or Jaye. Gosh I suffer from CRS. I still need to get them in some dirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so very ready for spring.

Austria... and from what I understand... they do have malls... and they do have "super stores" that have nothing but one type thing like our Sears, or like Best Buy... and mostly smaller stores that only deal in one thing... and it sounds like they have a lingerie store on every corner... wonder why that is? But, they don't have stores there that have a little of everything like Walmart.

Oh, Cindy... that's going to be sooooo pretty in my garden... I have a light yellow color, and pinks, and a white one... and I'm not sure what color the other ones are, but I'm almost sure they aren't that deep rich yellow gold.

I'm so ready for spring too, Tia Tina... I'd just as soon winter be over with.

I'm going to be working outside today. Cleaning my planting area, raking up oak leaves putting in beds for mulch, starting my winter sowing, hopefully.

Oh so am I. Yesterday on the way home from doc appt. my made a comment about wishing it were spring. We are ready for some fishing and camping. I hoping we will get the big boat to running so that we can do some boat in camping at our favorite lake.

Well, I better get busy ... guess someday I'll be finished around here...

Just a quick stop in before heading out in the yard to get some work done.. I need to clean up presents that Dusty left in the yard and get some plants in the ground. . Tonight is ging to be fun fun fun with little Miss aige comming over.. I just hope I can wear them both out so they sleep well.

Think Im with you all and Im going to come up with a routine here at home.. Nice days Im going to walk to the school in the am and afternoon. Get some weights for here at the house.. Just get things going.. Thanks for your kindwords everyone..

First off Robin...glad the package showed up and everything is okay
the shell box has real gems stones on it...am trying to remember if they are ruby or amethyst but purple is your fav color right?...LOL

Hard candy ...that's easy
do you have a hobby lobby near by?
they carry the LoAnn Oils I use otherwise you can order them from the website https://www.lorannoils.com/

anyway if you get the oils at hobby lobby the package has the recipe on it ...but I have been making this candy for ...OMG....28-29 yrs now and use teh recipe I started out with....which is

3 3/4 C. Sugar
1 C Water
1 1/2 C. Corn Syrup (clear karo)

combine in sauce pan and heat on stove to dissolve sugar continue cooking to a rolling boil..stir gently a few ties
continue heating (and boiling)...till it reaches the hard crack stage....310 degrees....or until when drizzled in cold water it turns hard and it able to be cracked into pieces

Remove from heat stir in food color as desired....once blended in add flavor oil ...stir well ...Note make sure you do not have your face over the pan as you will be hit with a flush of flavor and smell...cinnamon will turn your face red .....HAHAHAHAHA

pour into a greased jelly roll pan ...or something with an edge to it that has been greased
you can also sprinkled powdered sugar on the pan

let sit till hard then take the handle end of a knife and break into pieces ...in large bowl add some powdered sugar and shake to coat.....enjoy

Jaye yes you are right I did burn the oil at night with those but hey I enjoy it ....hehehehe

Walking truly is the cheapest exercise and I'm pushing myself to 'power walk'. My legs feel like lead sometimes but at least they are moving! Need to get an Ipod so it will be more fun. No other houses to look at here, just my only garden to gawk at, and my silly cats keeping me company.

Tina-Tia, I sent you a New Orleans Lady, but not a Noid. I try not to send Noids unless it's a variegated. Plans for Punk Boy today?

BJ, he'll love Walmart and all the all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants like Ryan's that the States have. My nephew too was glued to the tv with so many channels.. his favorite was "Overhaulin'', "Junkyard Wars" and those Orange County Choppers guys. We know he will have a blast with you and his mother has nothing to fear.

Maid M., I didn't know you're pc savvy too!! A lady of many hats! You'll be eating one of the salads at Mc Allister's Deli for lunch... sans dressing :( And if you really must have dressing, make it a fat free one on the side.. Maybe I'll have that vege omelette again tonight, and I'll put extra olives :D

Cindy, I'll get a box of salad to go for you, with grilled chicken. No soda, but a glass of water and for flavor, squeeze some lemon in it.
I found that when I eat salads, my sugar doesn't spike too much. Must try to have this everyday for lunch.

Audrey, you're right. Cody is certainly our 3rd. niece and she's a beautiful lady.... and she's very smart too. I love her voice.. she sounds so much like a sweet niece.

It is NOT her car.......we are the owners and the rules will be followed or we will NOT allow you to drive. SEE mike wanted to give her the car but then we already have another teen driver and then another each year after.....eventually setting us up for six cars......NOT gonna happen! [okay can you tell I keep trying to preach this to myself] ;) No cell phone gosh or I will take BOTH away!! :)


Yall it really is slightly stressful.......but the convenience is cool too.

The fabric talk is making me wish I had cleaned more this week so I was free to sew today......maybe I need accountability.

Afternoon all

Im feeling mch better now thank you all.. The kids and I went outside and worked in the yard (tristen played in the rocks making sand out of sandstone..LOL ).. Gardening really is good for the soul but wow wow I need a break now.. .I planted a clump of 4 pots of bitterfly grasses, 8 pots of african irises, 1 pygmy date palm, 2 orange cape honeysuckle and I think 12 dwarf gardenias.. Weeded that entire area and babied the orange tree a bit .. It really needed some trimming and of course a good soaking after all the planting and tearing up I did BUt I really do feel better.. To top ot all off I only had one cig in the last 2 1/2 hours.. Im on my way to being free of them yet.. Still alot to do out there but thats okay Tristens Buddy wont be here until 630...

Well I think Im gonna grab some lil smokey sausages and take a lunch break then head back out to get some more weeing and planting done..
