۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞ 87
Afternoon. Sounds like veryone is busy doing, or trying to do spring cleaning, and garden planning! Guess the cabin fever is setting in?
Jaye, I posted my fabrics on Janice's thread. I have only found 5 or 6. They are hard to find here. I th ought Hobby Lobby or Joannes would have some, but they don't. I was told they sold a bunch of it, so I guess we are not the only ones in search of it?
Bj, I know your "son" will have a great time, and love living with you and Don. Will you be driving hin to school, or is there a school bus to pick him up?
Later
LK

I forgot to show you what I just received from a friend of mine for a belated Christmas gift. She ordered it, but it just arrived. Anyway, it is a beautiful blue angel, from the Jim Sore collection, and she is just awesome!
This is the front view...
LK
Not me, I still have my dead tree up!LOL
where is the front??
she is BEAUTIFUL!!!
I still have my tree up also, I promised to take it down, so I guess I need to get busy!
LK
I didn't promise anything-I have been calling people on the phone for Mon work a lot today and have a TON more calls to make...and working on my Vday and 7 item swaps.....
Cody, they're all just so huggable!!
Your hubby looks like the guy on CSI! He's huggable, too!
Plans for punk boy, he is playing and HAS BEEN since early his new nintendo DS do hickey thingy a bobber. Hand held at that. I have been sewing and fixing to go catch some chickens and take to the auction. Hubby will be here on guard, he has strict orders, Trespassers will be shot survivors will be shot again.
Oh yea Punk Boy will go to the auction also I think. That could be fun!!!!!!!!!!!
Ummm Tia....Lemmee show ya how it goes....
WARNING !!! TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT, SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN, AND ALL BODIES FED TO THE DOBERMANS AND ROTTWEILERS...
OR:
MY DOGS CAN MAKE IT TO THE FENCE IN 2.5 SECONDS...CAN YOU???
DANGIT, DANGIT, DANGIT....
Everytime I do anything at all, I hurt myself...
I was cleaning in the spare room, and found a broken nik nak, picked it up, inspected it, found it unworthy of fixing, and threw it away... went on with my cleaning. Later I wiped my hand over the dresser where the broken nik nak was, and cut my finger on a shard of ceramic. My right, pointing finger... a very important finger when I'm working with clay. Now, I'll be leaving all kinds of scratches all over every piece I touch. The last time I cut a finger it took weeks of waiting for it to heal enough to use with clay... had to put all the clay stuff away and sew for a while. BUT, I'm right in the middle of a piece, and really need to finish it before I put it away. DARN my luck.
Sorry, just had to tell you all... cause there's no one here to listen to me whine.
Hey BJ....sorry about your booboo. Speaking of clay, my sis Dusty does clay and she has an awesome tutorial for making fairy faces and heads. Maybe if you talked to her nice she might send it to you! :O)
I'm here BJ and sorry you cut your finger. Would using liquid skin help?
LK, that's a beautiful angel! Isn't it fun to still be getting gifts when you thought it was all over?
Has anyone heard from Brenda? We need more photos of those cuddly little puppies.
Cody, speaking of cuddly - those bunnies are precious! Do you raise them as pets, to sell them, or to eat them?
Glad to hear we aren't the last to take our tree down. Was going to do it today but we decided to go to a movie instead. Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood. GREAT MOVIE! Then went to quilt store to pick up my fabric for the quilting class. Took my new machine as it was not working properly - discovered it was not threaded correctly. DUH! Went to lunch at Chili's then cruised the Organic Food Store. Now back home and will try to sew again. The tree can wait until tomorrow. LOL!
did it again - Joyce, those plants in our woods ARE mayapples! We call them mandrakes.
BJ, sorry ya hurt your finger.
Joyce, If I say pretty pretty please wold she send it to me also???:)
Joyce... I have a CD that gives pretty good instructions while watching this lady sculpt those faces... but I think it might have something to do with me having really big fingers... fat, clumsy, fingers. I've tried it several times, and it just doesn't turn out right.
Finally got the bleeding stopped. Doesn't hurt... it's just aggravating.
Trisha... I'll share with you... but you're going to have to be vewy vewy nice to me... LOL
BJ, sorry you hurt your finger. Try putting a rubber glove, that may help a little?
What are you working on?
LK
Cody, domestic rabbits are good eating, yeah.. like some Cajuns would say! Think our Alabama sistah eat rabbits too.
LK, you are so blessed to have a friend get you such a pretty Jim Shore angel. And I'll go take a look see at your fabrics in a while. Wanted to go to a quilting store today, but didn't have the time, as Kel had to give his dad a bath this evening. Saved some money :D
Tina-Tia, you took the loss of the game pretty well. Those schools really made some big bucks being in the final. Imagine 17 millions each!! You think Punk Boy would show some interest in football when he's in high school? He could be the next Bradford.
Awww poor BJ, so much to do and she has a bo bo on an important finger :( Maybe you'd find a way to finish off the project. Kel got himself a set of clay working tools at Michael's. But he's working with modelling clay, not polymer.
Debra, we just talked of wanting to see Grand Torino tomorrow! Thanks for the heads up. Speaking of Brenda, I got my sistah swap gift from her today!!
She sent me a 'scapbook' tote, full of scrapbooking goodies, like stamps, stickers, some cute accessories.........a Helen Steiner Rice calendar......a pack of kitty toys and yummy snicker doodles.
These are the snicker doodles and the cat toys. Thank you Brenda.. my kitties love you! I think the mailman feasted on some of the snicker doodles!! He he he.. actually Kel and I hurriedly tasted them and they are sooooo goood. Our first snicker doodles with just the right hint of cinnamon.
Nice one Jaye. Great craft supplies, and cookies just for you!
LK
These here are the scrapbooking tote with each pockets filled with the accessories.. love the buttons.. must remember they're for scrapbooking.. not quilting.. and the Helen Steiner Rice calendar.
I had never attempted scrapbooking, and envy those that do.. like our expert Trisha. So, Brenda, you've at least made it possible for me to get my feet wet with this gift.. bless your heart...
I love Rice. She is such an inspirational writer. Thanks again Brenda.. so proud to have you as one of my sistahs.
I got my sistah swap gift today too!! It is from Donna. I especially love the whimsical fish drawing that she did for me. There were some fish ornaments, and a lovely starfish ornament, and some oranges- straight off the tree and a beautiful crystal candle holder. Thank you so much Donna for your thoughtful gifts!!! I'll post pictures after I get my DGS to bed :)
BJ, aren't I always nice to you? :(
Jaye and Tina, wonderful gifts!!!!! Looks like your sistahs done good!!!!
I am almost done with my projects, should get them out very soon.....hope I make my buddy as happy as you two are!
WELL, they just raised our rent....again........guess I shouldn't complain but it seems like every time we make ends meet, somebody moves the ends.
The angel is beautiful, never seen anythingn like it. Your right, the skirt does look like quilting.
We have had snow all day. The man next door cleans my walk and drive and I pay him and he is getting rich and I am getting broke. He just about cleans and it snows again!
This sewing machine is driving me nuts. I am still having a problem with it breaking thread all the time. It is so off and on that it is hard to show it to the repair man. Of course, it doesn't do it when I take it in for repair. I'm afraid to take it apart myself but I may have to do that to repair it myself. Of course I could ruin it altogether by taking it apart!
Aw man I'm so pooped been outside raking up oak leaves, pulled weeds finished piling mulch on flower beds. I hate pulling weeds so I laid down that black weed killer stuff then poked holes and pulled Iris' thru then piled mulch on it. Come spring I going to sprinkle dirt on top of the mulch then throw in flower seeds hee hee. Can't wait to see what will happen. Rick has been out in his shed cutting out doll house pieces for my DGD for a Barbie doll house, we were going to do it for Christmas but it has alot of detail.
Those bunnies are sooooooo CUTE.
Hi again, all... having trouble keeping up with everyone, I hope you'll understand if I pop in and out, unless I can find time and figure out a way to stay current! Jaye, I am so glad you like your gifts, I hoped you might like Helen Steiner Rice. As for the scrap-booking things... well, I'm just trying to enable you! I started making scrapbooks when I met my husband, and now, 6 years later, he lets me know when I am way behind! It's a lovely way to remember special (and even mundane but lovely) moments... and to reinforce the specialness of those you share your life with. And, as you wish to make cards, there is your start! I warn you, though, it's addictive!
I too, got my gift (actually gifts!) today, from Sistah Judy (Seedtosser). I have to say I am overwhelmed. Judy, thank you so much... first, she sent me all the makings and instructions for the Victorian Santa... that made me cry, because she said in her card that "I saw your dream to create"... wow. Also, she made me a beautiful sleigh ornament, sent a gorgeous Father Christmas ornament, and the most beautiful skeleton leaves wall hangings... I have the perfect place for them and after I hang them tomorrow I will post a picture.
You are all such a wonderful group of sistahs... thanks for letting me hang out with you when I can. And Judy, thank YOU so much for the truly lovely gifts.
Hugs...
Brenda
Thanks Audrey.
Hi everyone!!!!
Thanks to Jaye's Breadcrumbs... I've foundmy way back in time to say Good Night Y'all!
best New Year's wishes hoping all are well. I'm not even going to try to read all this to catch up - I think I last saw Room 36 or so. between not feeling well (bad vertigo) all fall and my computer crashing, I've not been on line and I got tons of plants that never got planted. we've a touch of good weather this week, and I got 19 in the ground yesterday. spent my chair-bound time crocheting a queen size bedspread.
with poor energy, it's way past my bedtime.
Welcome back Bonnie! Glad to see things back to normal again (pc wise) for you! Take care please and a Happy 2009 to you too!!
Janice, I feel your frustrations sistah! Sewing machines are supposed to facilitate your desire of turning fabric into art work!! NOT a lodestone around your neck!! You're supposed to be having fun :( My poor poor sistah.. You may be able to find a good one on sale.. Good luck Janice.
Hurry Tina.. I can't wait what artistic Donna has done for you!!
Brenda, again I thank you for your thoughtfulness and very kind heart.
Kel just told me one more craft might lead us to the poor house!!
Hmm.. thought it's my plant collection that's already doing that! Doing my own cards will give me the platform to showcase my creative poems.. or limericks.. or bad, bad prose!!!! :D
Don't disappear too long on us. Pop in whenever you can.. let us know how you, your family and fur babies are doing.
Marion, I had the snickerdoodles before 9 btw.
My body's quite tired tonight. So I think I'll just read something in bed..
Hi Cody.. sorry I can't stay up.. I'll see you tomorrow..
I understand Jaye.Good night
Good night to everyone that is gotting to bed.Sweet Dreamssssssssss
Bonnie!!!!((((((((((((((HUGS AND PRAYERS))))))))))) We are so Happy that you are back, we have missed you!!!! Take care and stay in touch...
Just returned from Church.....have to leave again soon. My son wasn't feeling well and went home from work early, Bill is covering for him tonight so I have to pick Bill up a little after nine, then out to Lacey to pick up the son-in-law.....lokks like dinner will be around ten tonight.....at least everything is done and just need to be heated up.
A good friend and customer of ours had an accident today...we ride with her husband on Sundays. She and a couple of other women usually ride on Saturday morning, her husband rides with another faster group. For some reason Laura (yes another Laura) was riding alone today...they don't know if she hit a dog or what happened. She was on a road that has very little traffic. It just happened that the other group of riders decided to take this road today.....they found Laura wandering around in the road, her bike in the ditch, her helmet and glasses broken and her forehead bleeding.....had to have several stitches and she has a bad concussion. We are just so thankful she wasn't more seriously injured.
My shoulder is still giving me some trouble so I will NOT be riding tomorrow,.,,it is cold, windy and raining on top of it all.......will have lunch with our friend who is here from Oregon, and Laura and I go over and watch Orion for an hour...aside from that I plan to work on finishing 2009 Swap projects and get my 2 leather projects finished up for my son and son-in-law......Then I can do the 7 Item Swap project. Got the last of the materials I need today so I am ready to go!!!
Good Night All
Tina
I'm HOME!!!!! and Praise the Lord he was traveling with us the whole way!!!!!
Girls I am so glad to be home tonight even though I didn't get a hug or anything until I just stood in the doorway of the living room.
We left Dallas area just fine stopped grabbed food and headed on down the road..I got off on 64 at Canton as it is quicker then takin 20 all the way to come around the loop in Tyler.
Anyway we get to about 18 miles away from the edge of town and there is a big Bang sound..well someone was nice enough to go past us and toss out a Styrofoam cup with something in it and it hit the windshield at the top shattering and spider it in front of me....luckily I had played with the visor earlier in the day and changed the position of it had I not done that I would have gotten a face full of glass and the cup.
just slowed down pulled over turned on the light and checked the girls before looking at myself...everyone is okay and I even got all the glass out of my hair and clothes
and if things got right I may even be doing the trip again in 2 wks LOL...no glass hopefully then
Hi all. I am still here. The Doctor changed some of my meds and I slept all last night, was up about an hour this morning, took my meds, layed down to read a book about 9 am, and woke up at 10 pm. I will find out sometime next week when I will have my back surgery. It will be done in Little Rock or Memphis or maybe even Nashville. I am not going to worry about it anymore. I will just keep taking my pain meds, do my VitalWrap System, and hang everything on His Cross.
"Leather bindings tight and sure, held Him in His place
Iron nails, hammered deep, carved pain upon His face
His love so pure, His grace so great,
His forgiveness full and free
God's own Son upon the cross,
at a place called Calvary.
Bonnie Myers 2006
LK You have a suprise going out in the mail Monday(a very 'sweet' suprise).
