LK

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Spoil?? Nahhh Now why would you do that..lol Do drive safe and let us know when you get home wit hyour little Granddaughter..

LK hope your doctors appointment goes well and you can wear your shoes again..

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Donna-wow is that a deal!!! I haven't found one for cheaper than $120 brand new...and are you in the exchange?? I can send ya some $$ for the ink..and BTW-you didn't want to finish the Rainbow Bright theme??LOL

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Good news, Kathy! Enjoy that grandbaby (and spoil her just a little - no one will know). LOL!

Safe travels LK. Can imagine how happy you will be to wear regular shoes again.

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Sounds like you are well on your way to a new bathroom, Stacey. The pedestal was a find, but you can always find those bargains. Taking out the sink is not a big job. The problem will be connecting the old plumbing to the new sink, since you have not really seen the new sink yet. Shouldn't be too bad; Craig can do it if Chris can't. How much is DH participating in this remodel? Will he put in the floor?
I made it through my three day work week after 2 1/2 wks off and it wasn't too bad. Just stayed on line with you all here and played instead of working, so that took care of the DG withdrawal.
Must do some work....Bye

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

can't wait to take her shopping

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Stacey the sink we got was reguar price.. They dont show them online but they had them in the storejust had too look really close at all the boxes..lol I even got my new bathtub at lowes for $100 when the ones they show online start much much higher..

Some oher places you may check to see if they have in your area that normally have very very cheap stuff are: habitat for humanity restore & contactors best.. Both of these normally have items cheap including crown moulding doors and ect..

Rainbow bright theme was a serious no no... LOL The board in fron of the wallpaer was falling aprt and had ants living in it.. Thats how we found ALL the other problems.. Sad thing was on the back of the boards there was big red writing that said it contained arsinic and was to be used outdoors only.. Imagine that.. Was a serious mess even had mold in there..

O addy exchange was a yes..

I will be so glad to put on regular shoes. This half boot has got to go! I am trying to get the rental Mustang again. I love that car. I wish it was a convertible, cause it is supposed to be like 80 on Friday, but we will see. I don't want that car getting me into too much trouble! LOL

LK

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Janice is right taking out the sink is easy but putting in the new one really depends on what you find when you pull the old one out.. Pick below is worst you could find..lol

LK be careful now no tickets while driving to teh doctors.. LOL Max and I want to rent a charger or challenger (wishing) for our next raod trip since we dont have anything that fits all of us..

Thumbnail by ladybarber101
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Go for the challenger, They are a lot of fun too.

What a mess you found. Wow, you all have done a lot of work to the place.
LK

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Yeah really love the Challenger.. Want to drive one sooo bad.. lol Waiting on them to release the one with the hemi and 6 speed then Im in.. Maybe even jst a weekend rental someday.. can yu tell we are a dodge family..LOL

This house has been a learning tool for sure.. we had no landscaping when we moved in, bad bathroom, had to tear down the side room (enclosed carport) re-dig the septic tank and field, tear out carpet (found wood floors covred in paint), the electric is a mess... Just one project after another but eventually it will be just how we want it..

That bathroom.. UGGHH I will be sooo happy when we are finally done. . I need Ty Pennington to come help me..

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

hmmm Donna-when I originally looked for a pedestal last year, the cheapest I found was at Menards for $78, which they don't have any more of and didn't see that one at Lowes...and I looked in the store, not online..

Mom-Chris wants to take his vacation during a 4 day off for Craig and have him come help I am thinking-ripping off wallpaper, ripping out sink, changing lights, taking out mirrior, TP holder and towel rack thingy=they think they will need to take the toilet out and I just don't think so...and cutting and ripping out and replacing the laminate floor....

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Good morning ladies !!!

Well, hopefully today will not be as busy as I was yesterday... but it just started for me, so there's no guarantee I'll get any rest.

Oh, Betty... I'm so glad you liked the stuff I sent... and yes... I thought long and hard on every piece I sent you... You're one interesting lady to research... and reading all over DG to get your tastes was very interesting.

Donna, We've been remodeling our house for 3 1/2 years... the master bedroom and bath alone took us 1 1/2 years to complete. But, it's all been worth it. We bought this house knowing it needed to be totally redone... and one thing we've learned is that no remodel job goes like you plan it to... every time we removed a piece of wood, paneling, sheet rock, baseboard, or whatever, we would find 5 different things that needed to be done before we went any further... what a chore. BUT, the finished project was just what we imagined... and was soooo worth it.
Now, if we can ever get the sun porch finished... we'll be done inside... we may never get done outside... but that's ok... that's what keeps us going.

Ok, now to try to figure out what my Mystery Swap buddy was thinking with the list I got... hmmmmm.... this should be fun.

More coffee.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Bj. Did you make the birds for the plants?
They are so cute. Everything you sent to Betty is so nice! Matches her kitchen, in style and color!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

No, LK... I didn't make the birds... found those in a store and thought of Betty's Friendship Garden... so far, I hadn't contributed toward her garden, and wanted her to have something out there to think of me... and I knew she likes birds...

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Stacey hmmm I wander if the different area carry different items.. I remember specifically beause we spent right at 350 for all the goodies in teh bathroom including the tiles on clearance.. Of course the tile is sitting still waiting but we are almost there.. lol sounds lik eyou will have a full couple of days of work ahead but I know it will turn out nice..

Bj I think we will be working here for at least another year or more.. The floor in the kitchen needs ripped out like the bathroom and we know the joist are rotted there too but we cant get into that for awhile yet.. Its nice for now but the cabinets are starting to fall aprt beause the floor is sinking again (we already re-braced it once). The dining room still has layers on the flor (carpet, padding, linoleum, tile, plywood, hardwood) but Im going to do teh brown bagging floor teqnique in here and the kitchen when we finish it.. Living room is almost done we just need to rent a sander and re-seal the wood floors.. I cleaned them as best I can and started sanding with a bel tsander but the dust was too much for the small areas I would get done with it and chemicalls are not an option 9tried a small area and almost passed out with the door open).. Bedrooms are easy the floors are good so we just will replace the carpets and eventually new drywall .. Max is almost done re-wiring ..

Once project at a time from here on out.. lol

Can anyone tell me why people ruin beautiful wood floors???

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Lady B., I'm like you, I hold a grudge! Can't help it, it's in my genes!
Kathy, enjoy that baby! I know you wont spoil her to much!
The biscuits and honey were delish! I added real butter to my biscuit! The fruit's good, too, I love fresh fruit.
No pain in my feet today! Yaaaay!!! Still have to soak them in Epsom saltz water, that'll make them heal better.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm so proud of you girls for quitting! It's tough, but you'll never know how good you'll feel after! Just watch the candys, I had starlite mints. The sugar is addictive!

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Audrey so gla dto hear your not having any pain today.. Love them epsom salts they are my favotire thing to saok in..

I just made fresh english muffins with butter and velvetta cheese.. Anyone want one?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Sure, I can always eat!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Donna-I am with you-I wish we had beautiful floors under the carpet, but alas we do not....we want to put laminte bamboo in the bottom layer of the house with ceramic tile in the kitchen and laminate fake tile in the laundry room and the bathroom

We are doing the bath 1st to start small-"get our feet wet"

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Sounds like a great plan .. Starting small ..

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Well ladies I better run for now.. I have to get the house cleaned up. Tristen is having her first friendsleep over on saturday and I need to get the house together before then..

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning!! Today is BCS Game Day!!!!!
WOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, to the happy side of life..
Hello Sistahs and nieces! My tummy's reacting from overly healthy food! For the first time, I'm being 'regular'. No help from any fibered products!

Thanks for the coffee niece. I'll lay off the biscuits for now, gonna be happy with rye crackers.

Doing a whistle here.. Judy... Judy.. Judy... Happy One Week of not contaminating your lungs sistah!! It's bad enough we're forced to inhale smog when we're outside, our lungs sure don't need to be extra tarred. You'll breathe better within a month!! I'm sure your kids are happy for you too. Plus side, is, no more ashtrays to clean!

BJ, you certainly are one very thoughtful Sistah. To give from the heart is a talent in itself. But, what I love about you is, you plan well. All the gifts you got for Betty and the purse you made, they all come together.. and are functional.

Alas, my 2009 buddies will find my gifts erratic and incohesive!!!! But that's me.. ADD remember?

LK, I love convertibles! But if I were to rent a vehicle, my choice would be a Hummer :D Imagine a 5' 2" in a Hummer?

Sis Kathy, if he had learnt to fight HONESTLY, Missy won't be suffering right now.
Lord want us to turn the other cheek and forgive 7X777 times, and to be good to your foes, is like heaping coals on their heads... apparently you know that well. Still, that will be one time I'll be cussing his you know what off.. then I'll apologize to our Lord. You're one remarkable woman. They both need counselling, especially your SIL. To me, he is one sick and cruel person to put his wife throught that!!

Stacey, sounds like the pedestal is a good deal. I've never tried Craig's List for what I want.

Donna, don't overdo it please. Take some rest in between.

Heather, my day won't be as busy as Debra with her DD's wedding plans.. nor Donna's remodelling.. but more akin to Janice's I think. Will be pressing more fabrics for the swap and finishing off an apron. I love the whizz of the sewing machine.
Talking of sewing machine.... Maid M... how goes you today? Take care of that sinus please. What's my dinner today? You're having grilled porkchops and steamed Napa cabbage.

Audrey, keep those funny emails coming.. Marion sent me doozies too. I may not answer, but I do enjoy a good chuckle!

Phyllis, hope the trip went well. I don't understand jealousies when it involve adults.. Guess they all can't be perfect like us :D

Hi Cathy.. glad you make an effort to hang around. I am thankful that I don't require anything strong for my sinus.. except for the occasional Mucinex.

To the other sistahs that are lurking, waving a HELLO!!! (You too Cody:D)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I can understand jealousy-I am always jealous at work when I am talking to you and you are at home.....and yes I know it is one of the 7 deadly sins, but oh well, guess I can't be totally perfect;)

Jaye-I am with you-give me a hummer or a vintage car any day-and at 5'1" I would look just as funny!!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Well, I’m stuck with a sick kid today, not my own. I’m not very happy with this to say the least, but his mom used all her “sick” leave over the Christmas break, so would have to do leave without pay, which is frowned upon as well costs a days income, so she begged me to take him and I caved in. I’m not feeling all that great myself today; but if I am getting what he has it hasn’t kicked in all the way. At least DH doesn’t work a split shift today so he’ll be able to spell me, but we were hoping to arrange to look at a couple houses today, since DH borrowed a friends car, but *shrug* what can you do.

Stacey, I’m leaving it as is; though it’ll have to wait till we get the new house to get used. We’re starting to pack today, nonessential, and sorting out things we don’t need.

I like Nene Thomas. I’ve looked at a lot of her art. They’re very cool, but just not the type to want to come home with me.

Cathy, back pain is horrible; my DH suffers from that often as well.

Debra, Diana is a wall hanging, cement, about a foot square.

Jaye, I have a mixed immune system. I get slightly sick super easy, especially if stressed or depressed, I often feel that I’m always sick, allergies if not colds etc… but it’s quite rare for me to become seriously sick. I seem to have a predisposition to strep, I’ve had it four times, once letting it turn into Bronchitis before I went to the doctor, but that’s about the worst I can remember. For instance, I was 23 before I got my Chicken pox vaccine, had outbreaks at school etc… but never got it. I get migraines, which I classify as bad, but they aren’t actually sickness.

Deborah, I took Chantix last time I tried to quite. It works really well. I failed to quit due to lacking coping mechanisms to replace the cigarettes. Next time I try I will try that again as well.

Marion, could be she was trying to conquer her fears. I do that regularly, with decent success. The worst one was climbing St. Paul’s; 350 feet up, last part on lacey looking cast iron stares and you have to look down to walk up it, and I forgot to bring my anxiety meds that day. I got about half way up and wasn’t sure if I could go up or back down. Finally worked through it and the view was great, but that was as close as I’ve gotten in 10 years to letting my fears conquer me.

Jaye, I saw a lady here last week driving a pink hummer. it was the weirdest thing I have seen in awhile. That big old vehicle in pink. The two just did not go together! My hubby has lots of old cars, but the one that is drivable, his 59 El Camino I am not allowed to touch. Someday when we hit the lotto, he will get them all fixed. He has a 68, and a 72 corvette, a 57 chevy sedan delivery, a 49 ford, a 69 El Camino, and his favorite on is his 59 El Camino. Come on lucky numbers!!!
So glad to hear you girls have quit smoking. I know it is hard to do, but if it is something you want to happen, then it will. Keep up the good work.
Audrey, glad to hear your toes are not hurting today. Keep them soaking in the salt water. It will help.
I love wooden floors, and when we get around to finishing our new bedroom, hardwood floors are going down!
Next time you have english muffins, try it with cheese whiz. That is good too.

LK

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

I just soaked my feet in Epsom saltz water. While I was getting a towell, and changing the TV, I set the water down in the floor. Yep, you guessed it! When I got back to it, my cat was licking his whiskers! Big Ninny! I hope it doesn't do to him what it does to people! I may have a big mess to clean up! Maybe it'll do him some good! Do kitties crave salt? Maybe his food doesn't have enough in it. I know people need salt. That soak sure felt good, then I put iodine substitute on, and didn't feel a thing! I'm really amazed at how this is going!

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

So proud of you ladies who are quitting smoking. I know how hard it is but each day is a milestone! Use all the little tricks to keep from thinking about it or reaching for one and you will be OK. We're all pulling for you.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning all, Thanks for the coffee and biscuits and other goodies. Will have some coffee but sticking with my cereal this morning. I miss my raisins!!!

All this talk of remodeling makes me want to go snatch my son from work and tell him to finish!!! Mom is about to lose her patients with him now--to top it off he will be working in the field all next week. Bummer. Well I will just sit and listen to my machine whirling--more fun anyways.

Janice, find any sites you liked? Just search and enjoy!! BTW, I ordered some things for the B & W block from Aunt Bea's in Oregon on the 4th of this month and believe it or not, they were delivered yesterday. I have never had such great turn around time. Really nice fat quarters and impressed with the service!!!

BJ what a nice 2009 box you put together for Betty. I know she will enjoy all the items as so much love went into the selection of all. Way to go both of you ladies!!!

Laura, I think Kim wanted to see Costa Rica that bad that frogs were a mute point--I know it was for me and snakes. We won't even go into a discussion about my fear of snakes.

Audrey, so happy the foot feels better. Cathy, I did the same thing with my toenail many years ago and wish I had done it sooner. No more problems!!!

Kathy, you are to be commended for sure for the talk with your SIL, I am not sure how I would have reacted in that situation. Not spoil her? What ever is your daughter thinking? You would never do that but now Mike--well that might be something else to discuss--right? Please be careful.

Judy I am beaming I am so proud of you!!!! Keep it up Sistah--we are here for support. Deborah, you too. Check in and tell us how you are doing.

Jaye, not sure what you will have tonight. Thinking maybe tuna salad stuffed in whole wheat pita, steamed veggies, maybe iced tea or hot tea. Will that be okay? Low fat mayo of course. Oh yes with minced garlic dill pickles like that made it for the breakfast bar in Ramallah, Palestine while we were there. Really good!!!

Heather, need to start paying more attention to the children about snow days. LOL Well not to close but only where travel is concerned. Thanks for the biscuits.

LK, a convertible. One hot sistah we have there!! Red while you are at it-okay?

Well I am going to disconnect the CPU now to take it in for a cleaning. I just hope it doesn't require a complete downloading and reloading but I have a feeling that is what I am facing. Wish me luck.

Thank goodness I have the laptop at home and not at school with Kim.!!

( Kim) Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Betty, quite a haul…….looks like BJ did good, as always! Love the birds and the jar especially!!!!
BJ Great Job!!!
Stacey, only wiggling?? I figured you’d be up dancing!!!
Your sink sounds great!!

Kathy, I think you made the right choice. It is a long road won’t be easy, but hang in there…..and it is their choice…counseling would be a good idea…I have said before I may not always agree with my children’s choices, but that they are well and happy is the most important thing…..I don’t have to like it as long as THEY are happy.
Isn’t spoiling what grandkids are for?????

LK be safe and have fun shopping!

Congratulations Judy,,,,keep it up!! You too Deborah…we are praying for you both!!

Kim have fun!!!!!

Waving to everyone I have missed….so far the rain has stopped for the time being….the state is a mess….big problems for sooo many people…..the main freeway will be closed for several more days…but things should start to improve since the rain has stopped.

The other Day I was Talking about My Sisters Husband and said I did not like him Well Now I even Have more reason To hate His Guts
They spent the night here Tuesday and Wednesday and I let him use my computer well If you go into your History file you can find out where people have been I did that and Got into his Email ( Hope I can't get arrested for that) I just found out that he went into Match.com and he is also a Drug addict and is trying to place an order for oxecotten(SP) pill.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Moving when forced upon you can be some serious aggravation, but I do pray that you and Sean find the perfect home. And closeby to your Mum and Grandma.
I hate packing and still have boxes not unpacked since I moved here in 2002.

LK, he needs to start an auto overhauling business!! When you strike that lottery, I'm sure you'd be asking Chip Foose or Boyd Coddington to take care of all his cars.. you don't want to have them on his hands, cause you both will be busy cruising the world!!!!
Pink Hummer??????????? Ewww.. that's a mobile Pepto Bismo!!!

Yeah Audrey, my oldest cat loves salty chips. Hope you don't have to do much cleaning after your cat!!!

Maid M., tuna in pita sounds good, if I could have a sprinkling of chopped olives in it. Had an immense desire to snack last night after 9, but forced myself to drown in H2O instead :( So, I woke up twice in the middle of the night to relieve my bladder!

Trisha, what a relief! No rains!!! Praying here the rains hold off long enough for the grounds condition to improve.
Prioritize my sistah. What can wait, let it be... don't sweat the small stuffs..

Kim, is there someone that can check on your sister when you're vacationing? Just to make sure your BIL won't do anything crazy? Like this, you'll be enjoying your vacation and not worry too much.
You worked so hard, putting up with jerks, so you should be looking forward to this. I hope you make new friends in Cozumel. By friends I mean the opposite sex of course!

Hi Cody. How's the weather there? Forgot to mention we had pretty rough winds yesterday afternoon, and it blew off the roof on one of the buildings. It felt like a tornado just went thru. Thank God, no one's hurt.

Back to being busy.

( Kim) Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Well Jaye
I don't think that much can be done this week as fir my sister she will be ok she is getting stronger by the day and she was so much better off with out him but she can't see that yet.
I am hoping to meet the opposite but my sister has told me (Moe) No bra on the door she is not stay with the the bug and animals at nite
Ha HA HA. All will be fine
I just want to praise the stop smoking coward ( Hope that means a group of people) and not scared people sorry bad speller
Got some of the house clean and going to do one last load of clothes than after I tan its the worst room to clean in the house My bedroom that will take all day. and have packing done for Saturday
Write later
Hugs KIm

OK-here is the sink I am getting-measurement sound PERFECT!! I called the guy and we did them over the phone-he was a very nice man-sounds about my age-bought a cookie cutter house (that is what he called it) and it came in what he called the powder room-his wife wanted a cabinet for storage, so he had to take it out and put in a cabinet one-kinda funny as we could've just traded!!LOL

And here is the mirror I am looking at-what do you think??

Kim I am sorry to hear that-I would see if there was a way to go into his match dot com acct and inactivate it or change what he has for his description-tee hee hee
