I was just looking at Cindy's post about what to do with Christmas cards and it reminded me of this.

I have a calendar that was given to me last year that I didn't use. It is a day to day one of Thomas Kinkaid and I already had a day to day I was using. So it is a complete calendar. Does anyone want it for crafting? I' have all thumbs so crafting is out for me.... ;o)

HELP!!!!!! My hot plate that I use in my hobby room went KAPUT!!!!! Now I have to go in the kitchen to keep my water hot for melting my wax. ^_^ if any of you have an old hot plate you want to get rid of.......................... I guess I should look at the thrift stores to see if I can find one.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ohhh Joyce Thomas Kinkade he has some lovely paintings

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone. Wow, took me some time to find you all. I will have to go back, and read what is going on, but wanted to say hello, before you make another room.
Hope everyone is doing well, and had a wonderful New Years!

ok embroidery ladies got a question for everyone but also need to figure out how to do it now LOL
at work we have this goofy thing goin on ...it's mostly 3 of the guys in the office saying they are the Bro Hammie Group
so now we have the sistah hammies which is 5 gals in the office
so for fun...I've sat here and played with a couple of graphics and came up wtih something for the guys..as one is on yahoo chat and I asked him yesterday what he envisioned as a logo and he said a king in a throne but nah not what I have in mind...has to be fun
so what do ya think of the picture below as being a "logo" for the bro hammie group

and do ya think BJ that the program you gave me the link for would convert it to a file to use ?

then I have to find something to use for the gals

am just gonna make them into lil pins or something or maybe later put on a t-shirt

Frame the thomas kincades-most of the pics in my house are frames calender prints and I get compliments on them all the time-no one ever knows...LOL

No Tante Jaye-my dream was that I got a call my grams had passed last night-I occasionally have dreams like that and when I do I wake up crying and can't go back to sleep....

Flamingo Kim-would you mind sending me a postcard?? I collect them and always ask for one-you can wait and send it when you get home if you want......A pretty scenic picture....it is OK if you can't....we almost honeymooned in Cozumel-there was an all inclusive resort that would've been $1200 for the 2 of us for 7 days and 8 nights, but once we included airfare the $2000 was not in the budget....

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Phyllis-I say put it on some boxers!!LOL

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

hahahaha that would be good but I don't want to see them in boxers at work

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Joyce, do you mean the calender is one day at a time? The kind you tear off the previous day to see the next day? How big are the pictures? I might be interested if the photos are large enough. If it's something I can use, I have a 2009 Paula Deen calender that is very nice with recipes and pretty photos that I could send in trade. I don't use that type of calender and hate for it to go to waste.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Phyllis... if you use Buzz Edit... it's not going to just convert the picture to a digitized file. You actually have to do the digitizing, but you can do that with Buzz Edit. It takes a while to get it down, but eventually... I think you can do it. I digitized a company logo for Don's shirts, and one for my son's company shirts... but that's all I've been successful at. It's the shading that I get in trouble with.

Try joining PlanetEmbroidery.com... there's a link there to a free online program to digitize it for you... but, I've never used it... and don't know what quality you'll get there. Let me know if you do, I'd like to know how it comes out.

...and thus the novel continues! Such a chatty group today--took forever to catch up with all the goings on here and there. Oops Jaye, I don't guess the bowl of ice cream was what I was suppose to have after 8:30 now was it? Actually I passed up on the barefoot brownie and did have 1 scoop of low fat vanilla. That is saying something for me.

So good to see Linda 1 post. Don't forgot to drop in evey now and then please.

Okay, who are the enablers now? Phyllis? BJ? Humm here you have me looking at all these embroidery sites and no machine. Nope, not now!! Guess it doesn't hurt to look and think ahead now does it? All my spare change is marked "BJ's or Bust!"

Oh a jammie party would be fun--let's do it!! Maybe then I can wear my pirate jammies--think? Debra, a very nice picture of the 4 of you--actually both pictures--you and Linda 1.

Flamingo Kim, you are really going to cover a lot of territory in the very near future. Have fun and think of all of us while being a traveling diva.

Tink must be something in the air as I had nightmares last night also. Woke up in a cold sweat which is unusual for me. Picked up a quilting magazine and read until I settled back down. Of course having a slight fever and sinus didn't help either.

No babysitting the girls tomorrow as I don't want to give them whatever I have and them starting back to school on Tuesday. Just not a good idea.

Never tasted guinea! Sounds like it would make a good gumbo though---is it a dark meat? Don't know why I think it would be but do. Kathy, let me know as a curious mind wants to know.

Love the pig Phyllis--what a blast that will be with the logo. Now for the ladies?

Trisha. Laura how is the weather doing there now? We had a really hard rain last night with loads of thundering. Sunny at the moment but more rain is coming. Glad to hear you are feeling better Trisha, now I think I might be down for the count. Sure hope not. I hate sinus infections and earaches but for some odd reason they seem to go together.

Waving to all I missed.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Marion, sorry to hear your not feeling well. Hoe you get to feeling better real soon.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

yeah Marion that's the next thing ....what to use for the ladies ..It of course has to be fabulous compared the to guys pig LOL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh Phyllis that is a "given". Can't be outdone by the males for sure.

Thanks Linda Kay, it is my annual sinus/ear infection that I seem to get this time every year. Just feeling a bit lousy and upset I can't keep the girls. I do look forward to my time with them--that is my education: Everything I know I learned from my Granddaughters!! Some sharable--some not!

Afternoon ladies..

Sorry I ran off this morning but my mom showed up for a visit.. Then my sister brought the kids home around 930 saying she was skipping church.. Her and mom had a blow out on the front porch over my sister refusing to give my mom back a dvd set she bought and Linda swears she doesnt have.. Then we watched a movie and had pizza.. ..

Mom left a bit ago but I had to get outside and help Max in the yard.. I set up some plants to fill some really baren areas and planted a few palms we nursed back to health in pots.. Even got 3 new fire ant bites .. LOL

Uggghh Great start to the new year..

Marion hope you get to feeling better really soon.. Both sinus and ears is rough.. Take care of yourself..

Thomas Kincade art is very pretty.. I too use old calendars for pictures.. We framed horse photos for Tristens room and she loves them.. Plus I have more when the need arises,,

Sorry Cindy no hot plates here..

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well, Target has new ones for $12.99 not too bad. Will hit the thrift stores, also looking for containers for candles. $ Tree had some big hearts last year made, need to check and see if they have them again.

Okay...had a call from Sis Kathy. Kathy and Michael are leaving for Florida at 4:00 am to go get Pamela. (The DGD) Seems that after her daughter found out about her "might be gay" husband that she started using crack. Kathy found out from the DDs roommate today. She checked herself in to a clinic to kick the habit, but Kathy is not leaving Pamela with the roommate (male). She doesn't know him and wants to have the baby with her. She said to please pray for her (them). As I know you will. She said she will be back on by Tuesday or Wednesday. She has had a really crappy time of it lately. Said that Sissy will have to wait a few days for her surgery cause this is more important. She needs our prayers big time.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cookie, thanks.. praying after this post.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

You'd be a great host mom, Phyllis... maybe some day.
I've sure got to get up to speed on what to do with an 18 year old pretty quick now... not much time to come up with ideas to keep them occupied... Austrian kids can't be that different than American kids in that they need to stay occupied... but with what?
Hey, maybe she'll enjoy playing with some clay... maybe make herself some beaded jewelry, or something. He profile said nothing about crafts, but maybe she'll like it anyway.

I REALLY REALLY NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE BEFORE SHE GETS HERE.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

give it a try wtih crafts BJ ya never know ...movies, places to go out and eat and have real texan food, sites to see
how long will she be there?
