BJ, I'm starting to get my supplies in order to start winter sowing. How 'bout you?

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

If I could have an exchange student then, I'd have them do windows.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I have all my supplies ready and waiting at the back door... I'm all excited to do that for the first time ever... ONE MORE MONTH... right?

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

You can start now. Any time after winter soltice which was the week of Christmas is a good time to start. I always start in Jan and I'm still wsing then through March.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... it's kinda funny... we were talking about if we want to host a boy or girl... we get to choose... Don said he want to host a girl because he just thinks they're easier to raise... I said I want a boy because there's a lot of "guy" stuff to do around here he'd enjoy more than a girl would... so, then we decided NOT to choose... either one will be fine.

BUT, a boy sure could do a lot of the heavier garden chores that are difficult for me... come to think of it.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

I have my containers but the tops haven't been cut down yet. Not bought potting soil yet. And I haven't gathered all my seeds together yet. You can say I'm behind and dragging my feet for sure this year.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

When are you suppose to start winter sowing? And where do you put the seeds that are being sown? Did I say that right? I'm thinking I'm going to work outside tomarrow suppose to be sunny but in the high 50's still a little chilly.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

WOO HOO.... just as soon as I get my living room put back in order... I'll be all over the WS...

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Yep, a guy could do your heavier gardening chores and he could be incharge of growing something like tomatoes. LOL

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I do need to buy a bag of potting soil... should I get seed starter soil?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I've misplaced my measuring tape and I just had it in my hand. Trying to figure out how much fabric I need to cover my recliner. Math I hate it!!!!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

morning sistahs, took pooh to get her stitches out. she weighed in at 41 pounds!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Cindy... I hate it when that happens... and I do it all the time. The last time I couldn't find my tape, I went and bought two more... opened one, put one in the drawer as a spare... then I found the one I lost... LOL... now I have them all over the place.

WOW, Kathy... she's going to be one BIG dog when she's fully grown...

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Hello Everyone...

Wow I really missed alot of chatter.... LOL

Been crazy busy getting the plants in order utside and like a few of you I see getting ready for planting seeds. I have to cut my passion flower vine back and get those cuttings going too.. Ugggh So much work to do outside at least its going to be nice out there today!

Max is pulling the heater core in the truck out today and I will be working in the yard..

What are you all doing today?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

she is already the size of a small pony

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Cindy, the winter sowing forum is a good forum to teach you how. You use recycleables like milk jugs, orange juice containers etc and fill with potting soil then sow your seeds,. You cut the top of the containers to make a hinged top to simulate a mini greenhouse effect. Or you cover with heavy duty clear plastic and fix so it won't blow away. Sit the containers out in your yard so that the seeds go through the cold and warmth with the changes of the weather. You start anytime after winter solitice. The seeds will germinate at mother nature's time. As they germinate you start to lift the tops opened more so the seedlings can breath. Did I leave out anything BJ?

BJ, Just a good potting soil is best. The seed starter is too expensive for a 4 in required container if you plan on having a lot of containers.

You upholster too Cindy.? Is there anything you can't do, girl friend? LOL

41 lbs! Wow, Pooh is growing! You've been feeding that pup well.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Waving at ya, girl friend and sis Donna. I need to wash clothes today! I'm ashamed to say if have three trash bags full of dirty clothes. (leaf bags full at that)

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

mike says i feed her too much, but she only gets feed puppy chow 2 times a day, and scraps as a treat once a week. the doc says she looks great!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm going to deep clean and rearrange my living room to try to make it more roomy... I'm tired of everything being out of place... it's not easy when my furniture just doesn't fit the space... I really need new living room furniture, but I can't buy new furniture because I don't know what I want, and what will fit in there properly... it's an odd room to arrange...

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i might take my tree down- yeah right!

( Kim) Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

And don't forget to poke holes in the container... some holes in the bottom for drainage, and some holes in the top so the dirt doesn't mildew... AND, I think you're suppose to set them where they get morning sun, afternoon shade... at least that's where I'm putting mine.

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Yep me too, I gottaq start washing cothes. The worst job I can think of. BBL

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Morning All,
Wow I always miss so much... Kim you look so cute in your dress... very nice.... YOU go girl... I have to run to the bank and I don't want to... it is raining here and is very damp... Son Mike is going to get the wood stove fired up and that will take the dampness out of the house...
I have done nothing the last several days but play with my plants... I have been repotting and seems like that is what I am always doing and I still have way to many to do...LOL The flowers sure are pretty all winter, so that is the good side to it...
Well just wanted to check in to say hello to all my sistahs and to tell you I have not gone away...
Hugs,

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

everyone is busy as bees today thats for sure.. Im really sorry I havent been online much lately..

Kim congrats on your winnings and do have lots of fun on your vacation..

BJ dont strain yourself moving furniture around okay.. I pulled my back out last month just moving our stuff around..

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

OH meant to say I have been collecting all kind sof plastic things and will have to clean off some shelves outside to start my winter sowing. I have some cuttings from my NOID Dark Yellow brug, LK asked but does anyone else want any cuttings?

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Susan I am guilty of playing wih my plants too! Its an addiction especially with all th ebabies i have around here..

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Donna... I Don put those slider thingies one the bottom of all the legs of the furniture so it's easier for me to move it. I have hardwood floors, so the furniture is easy to move across it, and doesn't scratch the floors with the sliders. He did that because I have to move furniture when he's not home... he just gets in my way and is way to opinionated while I'm doing that. I prefer he doesn't help.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

donna, pooh is a great pyrenese, and is 4 months old. she'll get about 125-150 pounds

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Cindy... I think I'd like a cutting of that dark yellow noid... please maam.
Not that I need it, but I don't think I have a dark yellow one. I have some Pink Beauties already rooted if you want one in exchange.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Kathy... we want pics of Pooh as she's growing up... ok?

Also... you still have those seeds you've been saving for me? I think I'm ready to sow them.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

bj, i have them somewhere. promise to look for them

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

You got it BJ and no thank you I've got about 6 ot 7 cuttings from jaye so I think I have enough brugs for thr time being.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)
