Lisa, I am having trouble with this no "insurance" by the landlords and no working smoke detectors!! That doesn't sound right. Do heed Janice's advice as I do believe you can get some recovery from this. After all you were out of town on an emergency and someone's else left their tree lights on causing the fires. Is that correct? How can they say you abandoned the place? Please, please do a little research as Janice suggested.

Jaye, well the tree truly was a work in progress that got derailed! Has lights and 1 sparkly ornament. Somehow we just didn't finish decorating it (should say I didn't. No idea why Kim didn't--just didn't) with my trip to the doctors and a busy Wednesday when I returned. I was slowed up a great deal with this leg that refused to bend--knee rather. We just enjoyed my son's tree and was happy to do so. How are you and Kel feeling tonight?

I was very upset about not being able to travel to Deborah's. I had to give it a lots of thought before I knew I needed to cancel. Kim was willing to drive me there and had baked the cakes to take but the pain was just more than I could handle. 2 hour plus ride.

I'm doing much better. For a while there I thought I might have to permanently sublet the commode ;)

I'm glad for the ones who had a lovely Christmas! Mine sucked. I have a daughter like Cindy's stepdaughter, only she's not the fat one. Her 20 year old daughter lays upin the bed asleep and lets my other daughter do all the cooking and dishwashing, AND the laundry. She doesn't work. Both my daughters work. I said it wasn't right for her not to do some of the cleanup, and her mother said it suited her that way! The other daughter pays the rent. She could move and they wouldn't be able to live there without her. She doesn't have kids, but there's two of the oldest one living there.
Meantime, I have to sleep on the couch, neither kid will give up their bed. I can barely get up from the couch. I think I'll spend Christmas at home, next year!

Well if you were closer Kel could certainly come get some--a sour cream pound cake and a Kahlua cake!! Son will most likely come get most of them to take to work on Monday. We just don't eat that much cake. Ice cream is another story at this house.

Nope no muscle relaxant but this happened while I was at the doctor's Tuesday and he told me to start back on the ativan--think stress could be part of it. It is the old mean "Uncle" and bones wearing out combination. I just walk around going " arrrgh" like a pirate!! Goes with the stiff leg!!

Audrey, so sorry you didn't have a good Christmas. I know how that is to sleep on the couch!! I usually sleep on the floor when I go to my Mom's--bed shortage.

Audrey- Don't feel like the " Lone Ranger". My Christmas wasn't that great either. I will never take a vacation from work at this time ever again. Another story for later. I had to rush around like crazy to get my stuff done- which I didn't finish. I was glad to get back to work. Next Christmas I am taking a cruise. By myself !!

OH Tina, by yourself? Come spend Christmas with me next year!!! You can just put your feet up and relax until we call you to eat. Okay. Sorry to hear it wasn't good for you.

It wasn't terrible but I sure did feel taken advantage of. Why don't we go on a cruise? I have never been on one- it would be nice to walk up to the ship and not being rolled up!! lol

Odd you should mention a cruise--I have always wanted to take a cruise but my hubby wouldn't even discuss that. Would do most anything else but nope, nada, not going for the crise bit. Sounds good to me! Well, unless my knee starts bending again I am afraid I will have to be rolled up at the moment. LOL I am going to have to have it taken care of but getting into a specialist is really rough here!

Marion, I'm having trouble with my good knee! I hurt it Thanksgiving trying to pull off a sock with my other toe on the sock, and pulling backward. Wow, I wont do that again! I've put off going to the dr., but I'm calling for an appointment Mon.

I agree... Tina... let's all go on a cruise together next year for Christmas...

Marion... I'm so sad for you dear sistah... it's terrible that your knee went out on you, but to miss another sistah get together is awful too. Do me a favor, will ya? Starting about April 15th, will you just sit around and put your feet up and not do anything at all?... (ya, right !!)... that way you'll be in good shape for Mem Day Weekend.

Jaye, you feeling better yet? Hope so... otherwise, just put a can next to the toilet, and pay it a quarter everytime you have to sit there... you'll get well real fast when you run out of change.

Trisha I've always heard to have a whiskey with lemon . I feel your symptoms- sore throat ,coughing etc. I am having a glass of wine.

Honey, lemon, whiskey...... pour out the honey and lemon, drink the whiskey...is my DH's remedy......I don't like whiskey at all except in the Hard sauce for the Date Pudding.....so I prefer Hot Buttered Rum..

BJ, I was having to have the fluid drain regularly but since hubby passing it hasn't been done. I know shame on me!! Do need to see if I can get in with an ortho doc here to take care of it. I shouldn't even complain as it has been 4 plus years since it has locked like this on me. Still I was one unhappy camper yesterday! Cried most of the day but when I realized that wasn't going to help I just slept. Tink did call which did brighten my day.

I sure do like the cruise idea--or a cabin in no where land with a beautiful view and a balcony to sit on, drink coffee and just breathe in the sight!!

That's a ski lodge drink after you have hurt yourself on the beginners slope!! lol

Gave up downhill skiing when I was 14.....got half way up the slope, looked back down and said nope....ain't gonna do that....walked back down and left the skiing to my baby brother. Have done a little Cross Country...but that's it.

My friend and her hubby that live in Gainesville does that every year instead of going to their children's homes in New York. Nope no snow for them.

We will start in the Bahamas and cruise to Alaska- So bring both. Hope your knee gets better. I know I have had a time with my hands.

Marion, Don has the same thing to say about cruises... he has no desire, and always says NO when I suggest it... so... guess if I'm going to get to do a cruise... it'll be without him.

It would be fun to do a cruise!! It is on my "bucket list" of things I would like--no love to do!!
So ladies when are we gong to do this adventure. Need to start saving a second jar of change---first one is to go to BJ--second one I will label "cruise trip".
