That wasn't the clearest.. let me try a different one
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞ 81
Cute Kitty picture.....I want a shelf like that in the window for my cat! She loves to watch the bird feeder outside the window.
It is right on the line between rain and snow.....the wind is blowing....the roads have started to melt a little....slushed up so I can't get out of my street right now..so of course Dorothy, the little lady with the cane who lives across the street, is going to a family get together tomorrow and she doesn't have water chestnuts for the dip. Didn't have the heart to tell her I can't get the car out right now, and I could use a few things so I walked to the store. Probably won't be doing much walking tomorrow as a result.....just hope the roads clear up enough to get to Church this week. Sheeshh, I'm gettin' too old for this!
I love the composition Chris!! Miss Sarah staring at them... wishing she's outside, and Boots warning Tiger to wait his turn at the food bowl!!! Well Sistahs, look like we got a another cat slave here!
You're one amazing woman, Trisha. God will certainly Bless your kindness. I do hope you don't have far to walk.
Jaye, it is only about a mile round trip. Now I am headed to the little store about 3 blocks from here on the main street to take Sage her presents they left here. they are almost home. Back in a bit.
.....and it's not over yet. Got their stuff to them and their car is making noise. They call me back from the florists parking lot were the Flower Lady is....their exhaust system is falling off the car...what should they do.....I sure can't get out right now....finally had them call my sister in law who has two four wheel drive vehicles.....she and my niece gave them a ride. They are now safely at home, their car isn't but alt least THEY are. Now I think I will go soak in a hot bath until the water gets cold!
Good Night & Good Morning..........
Ladies;
Sorry I haven't been online..This week has been very bad.Earlier this week I asked for prayers for my Aunt well she ended up passing away that night. So drove down to Indiana for the service..We had a small service on Christmas day.
I helped my cousin take care of all the arrangments and a few other things today before driving home..I finally pulled into my building about 10.30 tonight and then I saw the horror..There's been a fire in my building..The apartment below me caught fire from their christmas tree and spred to several other apartments including mine..I have lost everything I just bought--I didn't have renters insurance..
So I am camping out at a hotel until futher notice once again..
Sorry to put a dammper on the group..
I hope you all had a nice Christmas.
CountryBlueLady
I'm sorry to hear for your loss.My heart goes out to you and your family.Sorry to hear about your apartment too.

Oh no Lisa!!!! I am so sorry to hear that...I don't know what else to say.....
Robyn-LOVE the pics of the furries-widget does NOT look too thrilled that Pebbles is messing with her!!LOL
OK Tante Jaye-I got mine-I am going to open it today, so you do the same:)
LK-shhh-it is a secret-I tried to get it to look like snow & ice inside it:)
Trisha-I am so glad you liked it-it was one of my faves I made:)
My mom drove in yesterday-made it here about 1pm, so she opened her pressies, then we ate at DH restaurant, went to Lane Bryant for the semi annual bra & undies sale, then went grocery shopping-had fun-then we came home and watched Baby Momma-the new movie w/ Tina Fey in it-was cute, now today I am finishing laundry, and then this afternoon we have to go back the 3 hrs mom came yesterday to pick up my aunt, uncle and 2 cousins, then they all stay here until Tuesday am when they drive back to GA. We are supposed to hit almost 60 today, so all the snow we had is melting and hopefully the ice too...
Morning everyone. BJ, Love the poem. Mind if I copy it and use it for an email?
Please be careful of all the melting snow. We just heard a weather report, that all that snow is melting, and will start flooding and or mud slides!
CBL, please know we are praying for you. Is the apartment going to find you another place to live? That is so sad.
Ladies, be good, and will be looking forward to your post with you and your hat from Jaye! I know you all have not posted, and we are waiting... ^_^
LK
Morning sistahs....
Sure, LK... why not.
I think one of my worse fears is fire. (another one is floods) My heart sure goes out to you Lisa... I can't even imagine what all your going through right now... I'll be praying for you.
Dang... Stacey... that's a lot of driving to gather up all your family for a visit... but you're going to sure enjoy having all that love in your house for the weekend.
Good Morning,
Mind if I do some RANTING!!!
Rick's daughter, stepdaughter and boyfriend dropped in unannounced last night. Said they are spending the night UGH!! Rick's daughter has ADHD and Bipolar, she's 19, weight about 350 pounds (and proud of it she says) and SPOILED ROTTEN BRAT!! Has a foul mouth uses the F word all the time, yells calls her father names. She eats non-stop..She was fixing a plate she had 8 slices of ham,( I told her there were others that hadn't eaten yet) corn, crab dip, vegtable soup, 2 slices of pumpkin pie heaped with whip cream, sunflower seeds, more crab dip(cleaned the bowl ate all the crackers). Then they ordered a pizza. Right off the get go she starts yelling then Rick yells back. I put a stop it. I told her to knock it off or she will go back home. She kept it up! I get up this morning there are dirty dishes all over the house I told Rick I'm not cleaning it up. Every time they come up they do this and I always get stuck cleaning the mess. Not today I'm Not!!
BJ...absolutely loved your poem and another amen from me!
Lisa, I am praying for you and hope that this all turns out okay. I'm so glad you weren't IN the apartment at the time of the fire. Sorry for your loss and here's to hoping 2009 will be a much better year for you and yours.
We are to get to low 70s here today...unreal!
Oh No Cindy...that's a nightmare! (((Cindy)))
Stick To your gin Cindy U tell them to get up and start cleanning this is not a slop house If you Dont they's the door and don't let it kick you in the Butt its another word but can't say it
Lisa I am sorry to here what happen if U want to talk I am close by Maybe we can get together and I can cook dinner Curiosity Laugh HA HA HA I call for a pizza
So far all the hats look great.
I am still getting my stuff for the 2009 swap But I still have time. I just want to let my swap person that I WILL BE out of the country Jan 10 to the 17
Well hope all are well
Dimmer
Oh believe me I do stick to my guns and Rick knows that this c#%p makes me really mad. I've had huge arguements big time.
OMG... Cindy... I think I would have probably showed her the door as soon as she started yelling and calling Rick names... that sort of thing would NOT have stayed the night in my house. "Rant" pshaw... you need to STOMP, FLAIL, and be absolutely LIVID.
Flamingo Kim... you have a simply wonderful vacation... Camen Islands, right?
Morning Sistahs and Nieces.
Again, Trisha, you're like the energizer bunny when it comes to others. You keep on going and when you can't, you make sure they're not stranded.
Stacey, I hope you like your gift. I'll open mine in a while.. ^_^ (Hope it's not a fart bomb)
Hi BJ, LK, Cookie, Cindy and Kim!
Just be glad I am just across your screen. Think I have the stomach flu
Aww, Jaye... that's not fun!!! I hate it when one of my sistah's is sick...
Have you taken something for your stomach?
Not yet, going to let these bacteria come out of my system. Kel went to work feeling weak.
I think it's because I got greedy yesterday. Had a huge meal at a new Asian Vietnamese/Thai restaurant. Overspiced too. The place earned a 98% cleanliness rating.. so it must be because I overstuffed :(
B.J. the poem was wonderful. You really have a way with words that we all can relate to.
Lisa, sorry about your apt. I know it is the things you can't replace that you are missing. Sometimes they aren't the most expensive just personal items. Wish I could say that is a clean sweep for the New Year but know you are not looking at it that way at all.
Cindy you can rant and stomp whenever you want to. That is what we are for. People like that should not be allowed to visit or even be let in the door when they arrive unannounced but when it is Rick's family you can't really do that, can you?
Hello dear Sistahs11 This is one sad sistah here because I was unable to go met Deborah and Judy yesterday. Nothing major--swollen knee from the uncle of ours and this time it locked.
Lisa, I am so very sorry to hear about the loose of your Aunt and your personal things. Is there something that can be done to help you at this time? Know we are here for you and feeling your lose with you. Thank goodness you did check in with us before someone sent out the "search" party. Take Flamingo Kim up on that "cooking" even if it is a pizza. Sounds good to me!!
Cindy, broad shoulders here so get it out of your system. That is totally unacceptable behavior when as guest in someone's home--even if her Dad lives there!!
Jaye, I sure hope you and Kel get to feeling better really soon. What a bummer!!! I am really happy to say I was good this year and didn't over stuff. Wait!!! the festivities aren't over yet are they?
BJ, you my dear sweet one are a "word smith" for sure. That was one of hubby's favorite terms to compliment someone on putting thoughts into words. It is just wonderful what you wrote.
Waving to Joyce, hmmm low 70's today. We are predicted 80 but high Monday of mid 60's. Can you say yo yo weather? Your brisket sure looked delicious!! Now wonder it was all eaten. BTW, nice looking family you have.
Tink, I have opened the pressies and will post pictures later today. I did stay off my feet yesterday with ice packs on my knee. You are fantastic--and oh did I ever enjoy talking with you. So did Kim--she said to tell you she hopes you didn't think she was rude when she answered the phone. Just shocked her for someone to ask for Auntie M and not recognize a cousins voice.
Janice, thank you dear sistah for opening the B& W quilt block swap. I am soooo excited!!! Roaring to go on this one. Debra better check this out--you too Linda Kay.
In fact any of you quilting sistahs better get over to Janice's thread!!!
Kathy, if you are lurking---love you, please don't withdraw from us --we are here now and always be for you!!!!!!!!!
Lisa so sorry to hear about your apartment......are they offering any assistance in getting you relocated? Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. And yes, take Kim up on here offer....it is always good to have a friend to talk to in these situation.
Cindy don't blame you at all......I would definitely let them know that they need to learn some basic manners if they wish to visit again.
It is raining and our street is an absolute mess....my son met Bill at the end of the street and gave him a ride to work......gave him a ride both ways yesterday also. What a blessing.....even if I did feel like driving in it....not much fun when your window is stuck DOWN.
Jaye, sorry to hear you and Kel are under the weather. Hot tea and lots of rest. That is what I am doing today. I have been on the edge all week and woke up stiff a sore with a wonderful sore throat this morning. Have transferred from my warm bed, to my warm recliner and electric lap robe and computer. If I can convince the dog to go out in the back yard instead of our standard walk I may not even get out of my jammies today.......with the ice and water I don't think we could do much of a walk anyhow.
I still have a couple of Victorian Santas to make but right now I am working on a Red Satin Fairy similar to the first little green Mrs. that I made a few weeks ago. We will see how she turns out.
Hope all are doing well, sorry if I have missed anyone this morning but my brain is not running on full power....aaaahhhhchooo! Turning up the blanket....and napping for awhile. TTYL
Janice are you home, or are you still at Stacey's?
LK
Hello Everyone,
Sorry been away for a few days but busy with all the GC and my Men all being here.... I caught a beautiful cold from my GC... Could have been worse..
I hope everyone had a great Christmas... We sure did....
If I don't post much in the next couple days sorry not because I don't want to just busy here...
Love to All,
Susan
Hi Everyone
(((((( ALL))))))
Been a crazy couple of days for us here as well.. Just stopping in while cooling off from outside work (its 78).. Not like Christmas time out there at all..
I will not be able to post pictures for a few days at the least . Our card reader went out in the pc and we are not able to fix it so it will have to wait until I can find a cheap one to replace it with.
Christmas day was a hit with Toony & Tristen and they boh say thank you to all their aunties! I WILL POST PICTURES AS SOON AS iM ABLE i PROMISE...
Tony has caught a bit f a flu bug and has been laying on the couch with his new quilt watching movies. Tristen in th erecliner just because bubba is doing it too. She did come outside and help me get a few things done in the yard but poor Tony just isnt feeling well. I got almost the entire back yard mowed all but a small patch that still needs a few things moved, the shade house area cleaned up and some succulent hanging baskets started for spring.. Max is hard at work on the bathroom putting in new studs and hanging drywall getting it ready for spackling (spelling?) and I couldnt be happier about that..
Well I better get back to my work for now but I will try to check in this evening and catch up on what has been happening with everyone.
Bear Huggs
Donna
Donna, I agree with you it is just to hot to be Christmas!! Isn't it ridiculous to have to be mowing grass in December? I need to do the same but not today.
Susan, get well. Aren't gc wonderful for sharing their colds?: We love them just the same.
Thank God!! Rick's daughter has left. OMG!! My mom said it was like a hurricane came through here. I did not lift a finger to clean up anything, Rick cleaned up the mess from last night, then cooked breakfast. Then Valerie (stepdaughter) cleaned up that mess, but not April (rick's daughter) she is LAZY. Hopefully they won't be back for a super long time. But you cab bet there won't be a repeat of last night. I told Rick from now on they are to call two days in advance and if my mom is here they will not be welcome.
Cindy that is horrible to have to put up with during the holidays--well anytime for that matter!! Take it easy and rest--you certainly deserve it after all that mess.
Good afternoon everyone!!! Hope the new year brings a lot better days for you than this year!
Cindy..good for you for standing up to her! Enough said :)
Lisa, I'm so sorry!! To have to attend a funeral at this time is bad enough but then to come home to that.. hope you quickly find another home. I've let our renters insurance go, but you sure made me think that I need to find new insurance. My problem is I live in a mobile home in Oklahoma.. they don't like to give us insurance due to the tornadoes :(
Susan, was good to hear from you.. get back to us when you can :)
Sorry to hear that so many are coming down with colds and flu.. why is it so hard to find a preventative med for that??? Well, just make sure none of you over do things right now and get better!
Talk to y'all soon
Chris
Trisha, looks like you, me and Maid M. could throw our own dull home party...except that I'd be guzzling down Pedialyte while Maid M. will be on her sofa, nursing her knee.
You must have been so disappointed not to be able to make that trip to Sis Deborah, Marion. I am sure those sistahs were really looking forward to hugging the Magnificient Maid Marion...
By the way, how did your Christmas tree turned out? Or you've decided to try 'rooting' it :D
Cindy, think Rick will think twice about having his daughter over again. That's terrible when adult children act that way.
I think any structured house should be 'insurable'. But those insurance companies like to make their own rules. Hope you'd be free of any natural calamities Chris till you find a company that would offer you affordable insurance.
Susan, glad you popped in. Your buddy might be late with your 2009 gift.. something came up.
LK, Darlene, Judy, Phyllis, Tina-Tia, Terri, Deborah, Debra.. even you BJ.. please join Janice's block exchange. This is my first and you are more forgiving with boo boos cause I'm bound to make imperfect blocks!!
Debra.. do we need to search the Arkansas mental institutions' registries? Hope you found time to catch your breath Sistah!
Rant Alert!!!
Ok This really sucks..I talked to the apartment management today and found a few this out..
1.Their insurance is none existist(THEY HAVE NONE!!!!!)Are they Crazy!!!!
2.They will not refund my deposit.
3.They give no help in looking for another apartment or will they let me have a vacant one(He said I was too much of a RISK!!!!)
4.I found out today their smoke dectors DIDN'T WORK!!!
5.They throught all my stuff in the garbage and when I asked why they said I had abandoned the apartment and it was all garbage.( I went dumpster Dive-YEK and was about to get a few things that I found )
So came back to my room and did some number crunching this is what I figured out.
1.I have enought money to pay for the room for a month(even with being off work for 2 weeks)
2.I can hit a used store and get a few pairs of jean and teeshirts to get me through for awhile.Undergarment will be bought new..
3.I have some money for food(will be living off tuna,P&J sandwiches, and cereal and milk)LOL
4.Then I am flat BROKE!!!
Just keep me in your prayers is all I ask.
Thanks.
Im back for a few before Max recruits my hands again.....lol
Went out and found that my dadylilies are returning from th eground but were overtaken with weeds.. Started working on that bed until we found 2 seperate fireant homes...UGGGHhh So now they are waring with eachother and I am digging in the shed for pesticides to get rid of them.. Found one out back this am pile hill whatever ya call it.. They found the holes in my water shoes quick , Im just glad I was near the hose. Can not stand fire ants!
Lisa Im so sorry to hear about your apartment fire.. I hope things get better soon..
Marion I hope your knee gets to feeling better soon..
KATHY please do speak up if you are lurking.. If it were not for you I wouldnt have been here...
Jaye I hope your stomach gets to feeling better soon..
Cindy so glad you have your home back! There is no reason you should have to deal with all of hat mess over the holidays..
BJ truly love all the writing and poems you do! I even had to sing your Rusty Chevrolet song to my mom.. She laughed so hard... Even funnier that my sister was trying to sell us my nephews old chevy (hey bought him a new pontiac vibe) and I was hesitaing because I have had horrible times with chevy.. Well I went outto look at it, put the key in, turned it and POOF NOTHING.....LOL Then I sang the song over the phone...
Did I miss anything....
Lisa what size clothing do you need? I may have a few items Icould send if that would help I just have to wait until we get Maxs check on Wednesday before I could ship..
Lisa, I can't bear the thought of you surviving on tuna...
l'il help will be on the way.
O.K. Country Blue, this is what you do! First, contact the local Red Cross. They are there to help people like you who have been through fires, etc. They will help with finding you a place (maybe just temporary, but needed) for you to stay (they will pay), and they have clothes they can either get for you or put you in touch with an organization that can provide clothes for you. Surprised they haven't contacted you. Don't hesitate to take advantage of this; that is what they are there for.
Second, contact a local lawyer. I know your have no money but ask around and find a lawyer that you can talk to for free. Most will at least hear you out for free and then tell you if there is something they can do for you or make suggestions, referrals, etc.
Having worked for a management company I know it is illegal for the apartment company to not have insurance, have smoke detectors that don't work, etc. Many lawyers will represent you for a share of the take.
You might also check with your city or township licensing boards. Most owners of apartments have to register with these boards and are checked out before they are allowed to have tenants.
You have a computer so google some of these things and that might help you not only to cope but might bring you some genuine help right now when you need it.
Good Luck!
Good advice there Janice.
i got a big box from Linda Kay today with things for both my Fairy Swap and my 2009 Swap in it. I posted pics on the Fairy Swap of the clever gnomes and garden things I got.
My 2009 swap gifts were tremendous! I got a lovely oil burner with three dragons; a "see no evil", hear no evil, speak no evil" types that are truly magnificent. I can't wait to burn some oil in it.
Then there was a black dragon windchime that I set up immediately in my kitchen window. Wont get much breeze until Spring, but I can see it with the sun coming through the window.
Lastly, LK knows how to feed my additions. There were three pieces of Holiday material that will find there way into something I make and a rag bag made out of one of the materials. I love it and will use it with pride knowing she put her time and love into it.
Pictures of all to follow. First the dragons:
