Thanks for the concern about my dale---he's fine now, but when the vet did preop, he found a severe heart murmur---had to do an echocardiogram--also found low protein levels, even though we always feed extra meat---now he gets an egg also a day---I hate to tell you what all this has cost! But what was scarier--the vet said he knew of a case where the grass seed entered the bloodstream & abscessed a kidney---please, if you have curly-coated dogs--don't let them near ornamental grasses that form seeds. Nothing sticks to my pointer, thank God! A JM is definitately on my spring list!
Garden Photos - Part 47
Robin, I hope your doggy is better. That sounds like something that would be pretty uncommon to happen. You never know what's going to happen to dogs. My dog got a cut on her foot recently, and I don't know what did it. I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide and it was fine. Before that something happened to her face. Looked like a burn right next to her nose. The skin was all red and raw. I cleaned that with HP, too, and it scabbed over and was good to go. I'm thinking she must have touched her nose to the wood stove. She didn't act like it was hurting her.
Sometimes burns don't hurt. I burned my arm once when I brushed it up against a hot lawn mower muffler by accident. I heard the skin sizzle, but never felt any pain. The skin peeled, it became raw, then scabbed over. Never did hurt, but itched a little during the healing process. I have a triangular shaped scar there to remind me of that incident.

Wow, I didn't know those seeds could be so dangerous. My dog has short hair, so maybe I don't have to worry.
Karen
Yikes, Robin........sorry to hear about that! What are we going to do with these pets of ours??!! Fortunately, Molly is holding her own now....hope Robindog stays out of trouble too for awhile!
Happy New Year to all. May it be the best one yet!
And for the maybe 5 folks who didn't know about it.... Today is Victors' Birthday!

lol.....
Oh the poor fellow! He looks exceptionally cold! Hopefully things get better for him soon!
Face guy needs a touque.
Is that French??
Canadian
No it's a hat. I don't think French people would like to visit your garden when it's this cold.
Take Off! What a hoser! LOL
I love that movie
eh? I need to practise my Canadianspeak as we're going stateside in a few weeks and I like to sound like a tourist ^_^
dnut how do you spell Canada? cAnAdA.
yupper wha that's where the 'eh?' expression comes from. All the 'a's in Canada. It is a typo for "kanata," the Huron-Iroquois word for village. Hence we are a people of typos. Also defined as the land of the cold and the dark and the dancing and the refreshing beverages.
I'm a typo too. Typo negative.
What a coinkidink Victor moi aussi ^_^
Two universal donors on one thread?!
I KNOW!!!!! What is the chance of that?
Oh, he does look cold, Victor! Poor guy. Happy Birthday to you!
Karen
Hope your birthday was happy, Victor. Our day was happy--there were 13 of us---but Grant was in a highchair, not at the table, & HayHay made it to the table only for ice cream--then Grant upset the dogs' water bowl & sat in it--Anni hid the TV remote--I lost a dessert fork---I know it's in the garbage bag, but I have to steel myself go through it--yuck! Did I say we had a happy day yesterday?
Thanks Robin. Hee hee - full day for you. Get your rest!
I like your smilin' guy Victor but he does look awfully cold. I felt sorry for mine and put him in the shed. Not toasty warm but at least he is dry. It sounds like everyone made it to the new year fairly unscathed which I am glad to hear. My only problems are a full blown head cold that is driving me crazy and I ran out of bird seed which has produced a lot of angry squirrels and hungry birds etc. DH will bring home some tonight so an uprising can still be averted I think. They are still sniffing around for left-overs under the snow. :)
That is just gorgeous. I love those deep shades.
Beautiful, Jo Ann! When do I get it?^_^
Dont Joke.It could happen.
belated b-day present maybe?
MaaaaaaaaayBeeeeeeee.
Very, very nice, JoAnn!
Karen
Victor - so sorry to hear you're stil "feeling poorly". That just doesn't seem fair on your birthday!
JoAnn - you are quite talented; I always enjoy seeing your work!
Feeling better today, Louise - thanks!
I agree - very nice. How long did it take for you to paint it?
Watercolor doesnt take as long as oil.
This painting took a three days to actually paint.
The inspiration came from a photo Victor posted.
Figuring out how to translate what I saw in the photo to a painting took a couple of days.
Thanks everyone, for your compliments.
nice work--you are gifted!
Oh how lovely. Nice deep coloring in the frozen pond. Very nice work.
Thanks everyone.
Victor - glad to hear you are feeling better.......did you get some cool garden stuff for your birthday?
Another beautiful painting, JoAnn. Amazing talent!
